I never understood the half glass for the shower thing. Europe often has this too. I always manage to get water all over the bathroom floor using up most of the towels to mop it up.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't understand the half glass shower thing! :)

I'm from Melbourne stay at the Crown Hotel next time. Used to work at the Grand Hyatt the windows look gold in appearance that's because every window has 24carat gold dust in them.

Very enjoyable watching you Chris,, you are a real star! Does the Marriott Hotel have rooms with a bath. Love soaking in a bath in the evening,,think this is part of the enjoyment of a Hotel room.
    Keep the videos coming!!

Hi There Chris and Topher 🙂great review of Hotel. We have not stayed there before so good to see it and hear/see your review. We usually stay at The Westin as it is closer in to the CBD, however your right it can be pricey. How did you go using the iconic Melbourne Trams? Keep the videos coming, I really enjoy them. Safe travels. Lisa👍🏻🇦🇺🙂🙋

The hotel primarily services the theatre district....the business person chooses to stay in the other hotels you mentioned.

good review chris. a pretty solid room, if let down a bit by the building itself, it looks a bit tired on the outside. ive stayed in a few hotels in melbourne when visiting, some of the better ones that i have stayed in are: qt, sheraton, park hyatt, and hilton south wharf. hilton was awesome for the all round package, breath taking views, great location, and the best hotel breakfast ive ever had, but sadly, its no longer there. i just did a google search and apparently it was purchased by the pan pacific group. its apparently open for business now as the pan pacific melbourne, so i'll have to check that out. qt is a great hotel, quirky, trendy, great location, breakfast was sufficient but not a full spread that i am used to. sheraton is good though location not ideal, epic breakfast, rivalling hilton. park hyatt is exceptional if you are ok being out of the hustle and bustle, again an epic breakfast offering. all of these are around the same price, ~ $300 - 350 AUD mark ($235 - $275 USD) per night for a standard room. they can be found significantly cheaper if you have the time to search. i scored a good deal at hilton melbourne a few years ago, exec room, breakfast, lounge access, pre pay in full for $200 AUD a night. i booked a week lol.

Thanks ozzy... I was considering the Park Hyatt --- but it was too out of the way for where I needed to be. I love Park Hyatt's though :). Some of my colleagues stayed at the Pan Pacific -- they really liked it there... I think their one negative comment at the Pan Pacific was the breakfast was expensive

+vgshwk Hotel rates vary so much depending on time of year it's hard to put something in a video that will be relevant in the future

Yellow Productions yeah I was looking to go to Australia in January but looked at prices and found it to expensive so it is off to Vietnam and Cambodia instead.

Yellow Productions thanks will be my first trip to Vietnam. I have been to Cambodia they use the usd there and it is cheap. I guess if you take long flights to get there it is refreshing that it is cheap.
