"Go On" star Matthew Perry couldn't get over the topless maid service Ellen talked about in her monologue, so he and Ellen called them during the commercial break!
When he was casted for Friends he was asked what kind of person he was and they liked it so much that he ended up being a excessive version of him self.
+darkcurrypowder matt le blanc did go to ny at the age of 18 trying to be an actor without any idea how to do it, and a the time he was having his audition at friends he had about 10 bucks in his wallet, and that was all he had at that point, so he is not just playing his personality he is literally playing his own career path :D You should also watch some interviews with lisa kudrow, she is as crazy as pheobes xD
Matthew is the same as Chandler just like Charlie Sheen on his show. It’s so naturally funny. Ellen coukdve done a whole hour with just Matthew on the phone😂. Rest in peace sweety❤

No, I'm not claiming that Courtney is necessarily on their levels, but her comedic skills were grossly underrated and underappreciated. Her comedic timing was impeccable. A few cases in point: her scream during the Ross/Monica scene with her dying grandmother when her "dead" grandmother has a post-mortem reaction, her goofy face she makes after she said "I'm 'fined" when trying to deny she's sick, when she and Chandler are watching the birthing video mistaken for porn and she says "Don't touch me" when Chandler puts his hand on her thigh, and her neither Jennifer or Lisa could have pulled off the "7 Erogenous Zones" episode the way she did. Honestly, she is probably the only actor from Friends who has me replaying her moments and still laughing each time. Matthew Perry isn't far behind. Maybe some of David Schwimmer's moments, but not as many. Jennifer Aniston NEVER made me laugh. Lisa Kudrow RARELY made me laugh. Matt LeBlanc has some good moments but more due to writers than his ability to deliver those lines.

I love them all but I got to say Monica/Courtney was on the bottom of that list. I know it is a sitcom but I find her character really annoying, probably because of her OCD :D
senorgato70 I'd have to say that David Crane and Martha Kauffman and Kevin Bright along other dozen writers are what made Friends "Friends"...of course the likeability of the actors as well as their talent is put to good use in that show and the timing was excelent but if the writing would have been bad, then the show would have been bad all the same and Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox would have been nobodies right now....
Chandler Bing is my favorite person in Friends. I love watching interviews of him because he reminds me so much of his character in Friends and he's so funny, I can't get enough of him.
Chandler is 100% based on matthew. They gave the other characters their personalities but actually told matthew to go be himself. He was barely acting for the whole of friends. He even created a lot of chandlers jokes himself. That's why you'll always see chandler in matthew but I can watch any of the other cast and only see tiny hints of their characters.

All these years later, and I still feel like a proud mama bear when I see a friends cast member. I so wish they would do just one reunion show... It would make my heart feel good to see the old crew together one last time. I get teary eyed thinking about it.
The fact that Ellen wrapped up the show during the commercial break and then came back to the show to introduce what happened during the commercial break kind of breaks my mind.
I love the faces he makes during this. He seems to be sincerely focused on the content of the matter rather than deliberately making the perfect faces XD
Emma Adler he actually got to know about this role from a couple of his friends who wanted to audition for it and came up to him for mentoring since they thought Chandler has the exact same persona as Matthew
The end, Matthew Perry was just like "uhhhhh I'm on air and I'm holding a mic and a cell phone. WTH do I do now?!" His face was priceless. Thanks, Ellen, for great laughs
