Knowing your purpose in life should mean knowing God. Being one with the Spirit, helps people to keep going despite of the problems, persecutions, and tribulations surround them. This Spirit serves as our teacher telling us how to live in a peaceful way in this physical world. Thus, knowing your purpose is being a wise man. As a wise man who built his house on the rock, we will not be moved regardless of what the spirit of this world conforms us.

It is important to know one's life purpose, because first of all it gives the person the right direction or the right assignment for his/her life. It makes one's life productive and reliable to the community. Everyone probably have questioned themselves why they live, what's the purpose of his/her existence, or why does he/she have to go through this, that's because they long for their deep meaning and who they really are in this world. Your purpose will answer all these questions and it will guide you on what you can contribute and serve to the whole society. A person's level of knowledge and awareness about his'/her's purpose also indicates their decision to whether should they continue to live or end it. This is important because you are not born just to end your own life or to just be unproductive, you are born for a reason, because everyone counts and everyone serve as a part of the whole human race.

You will also be able to help others identify or determine their own purpose and encourage them as well to fulfill it.

Knowing your purpose in life makes it possible for us to have a meaningful life. When you know something well, you grow more appreciative of its existence. It would be hard to give up no matter how hard or numerous the challenges are once you know the depth and whys of that purpose. If you are well-aware of your purpose then it's easier to draw out your plans, to take the steps necessary to achieve your goals but having wisdom or an idea about that purpose is not easy.
Specifically, it will always be different for each and every person out there but as a whole, as a society I think the most obvious or given purpose for all of us is to be there for each and everyone and grow/learn and help one another to find that specific purpose in order for us to fulfill our role as His stewards for this world

I once read on a self-improvement article, that the power of purpose is similar to the energy of light depending on its concentration. A light that is more diffused and dispersed is not as potent as a light that is concentrated - as through a magnifying glass, for the latter can set a paper into fire. Adjusting its focus even more, much like in a laser beam and it can cut through steel. Likewise, having a clear sense of purpose gives you a clear sense of who you are, what you need to pay attention to and what is less important. This will give you a better view on what matters most and where energy is worth investing to, enthralling you to go above and beyond, and against all odds. Having a strong sense of purpose enables us to handle ups and downs of life more effectively. This will serve as psychological buffer against obstacles, for you know that those setbacks are only part of the process towards your purpose. With that, you can be a great contributor in making this world a better place for everyone.

For me, I feel that life purpose is undoubtedly important, but to a certain extent. Sometimes the beauty of life lies in doing unplanned stuffs, a random walk without purpose. You see, life is something you don't know, what's gonna happen to you the next moment. You walk around with all your planning and suddenly you met an accident and eventually you die. The same is finding purpose of life. You sometimes know it, and sometimes you get confused and starve for an answer. That's a hard, long-lasting question. It's going to require courage and resolve to pursue a fully purposed life. However, to know and live purposefully allow us to move beneath the surface of things and find great significance and deep fulfillment in our everyday lives. It is a compelling call to live that within each of us there is a unique life story which is meant to be told. Our future is like a long, unpredictable hallway but as they, "everything is possible". By that time, I hope I already know my deepest purpose in life. For that, I see myself doing many things, living the typical life as a person with a vision not just by sight because life is an improvisational art. We have to make it up as we go. If we are not dreaming big, we risk dying small. To know the importance of my purpose is to see how rewarding my life would be, living entirely free of secrets, walking in the self-confidence that comes from not having to look over my shoulder and not be worried about hidden flaws being discovered. That I am living a life full of grace extended and received, with stronger, healthier, and deeper relationship. To share my life with just a few people I really, truly, honestly trust. Knowing my purpose makes me sure that everything I do is coming from a place of inspiration and in a place of light-- to learn what really matters and consistently in touch with God.
