Sri Racha Panich is the real original one with history of almost a century. The rooster one is the copy one.
It's not a copy huy fong is based of it
@@lifeedmondson1949 Just like Clorox and Oreo...
Underwood ranch used to grow all the peppers for Huy Fong.
LOVE your energy! Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for the insights!
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! 🙏
I have 3 gallons of huy fong been sitting in my pantry for months. It pays to know people in food service.
Great video! Thanks for the great insight and info!
My bro in law bought Flying Goose Sriracha. I bought Dynasty Sriracha.
Next I’ll try Sriraja Panich.
Yall out here doing gods work for asian ingredients. Much appreciated, my wallet thanks you!
😆 we try our best! Thanks for watching and for the kind words 🙏🏼
Great review! saves me on buying endless bottles to sample
Kikkoman is my favorite of the bunch! 😎
Badia is worth a try if you want some extra heat. Otherwise, I'm really glad the Huy Fong sauce is starting to reappear on shelves in the DC area. I'd better stock up before the next drought in Mexico!
Great Review! I am all over/happy with the Sky Valley, which I think has more garlic kick to it, and the Underwood Ranch. The Underwood, to me tastes very good, and I am very partial to them after the fiasco with Huy Fong, (I will have a hard time buying their sauce again, ever). But most importantly, the taste of the Underwood works, as does the heat level. I like a good amount of spice, for flavor, not just for heat sakes. When I want heat, there are other spices and sauces to go to, as I have never found Sriracha a real "hot" condiment. . Good Chanel!
I like Kroger brand. It’s actually really good! Especially for the price. It has some decent kick too
I got 12 bottles of Huy Fong from Target last week! I was absolutely stoked and hope the shortage is OVER! (only 3.59/bottle too!!!!)
During the shortage I've been trying:
Tabasco - hated it (ironic since I looooooove tabasco)
Lee Kum Lee - very good - quality replacement - however, not much heat and seemed to be missing garlic notes, which I found ironic all things considered
Kikkoman - prob the closest - but had blatantly too much heat and too little flavor - if you want a Huy Fong replacement - felt like they went mostly for a we can out burn Huy Fong here
I mix the kikoman and kroger together. Pretty good dupe
I bought the giant bottle of kikkoman siracha a 20 oz bottle at winn dixie for 5 bucks and change. Seems like Amazon is ripping people off if their charging 11 bucks for the little bottle and the smaller bottle are winndixie was 3 dollars and some change
Thanks for the review! Can you please add chapter markers on your timeline , it'd make rewatching simpler.
Definitely the video we needed! We’ve also been trying out different alternatives. So far Lee Kim Kee is our favorite. Unfortunately we don’t have Kroger here 😭
Lee Kum Kee is really solid the more that we try it, so you won't be missing out without the Kroger one 😆 It was just the one we least expected to be good 😂
@@PeterLisaKim 🤣
If you have Fred Meyer, it is the same. As they have merged with Safeway/Albertsons, your options may open up a bit.
Been looking for a replacement since before the shortage. Something that hits all the Huy Fong qualities but not such a strong garlic powder flavor. Bonus points for richer chili flavor. Probably a less sweet Panich would do it.
A few moths back my wife called me from the supermarket to tell me they had no (Huy Fong) Sriracha but said there was a similar looking hot sauce called "Tapatio" that was a lot less expensive than the Sriracha. I told to go ahead and get one, reasoning that some hot sauce is better than no hot sauce. To my surprise, I really like it. No, it's not the same as Huy Fong Sriracha (there's no garlic in it) but it's quite good, You should try it.
As kids from LA, Tapatio has been an essential part of our dining, especially with Mexican food 😆 It's awesome
Lee Kum Kee is the official chili sauce of Panda Express
Have you ever compared Chin-Su
Vietnamese hot sauce to sriracha?
It's not runny even thought the first ingredient is water. It does taste ketchupy, but to me that lends it a vinegar note to go with the acetic acid ingredient. It also has a hint of wasabi.
It's about the heat of buffalo sauce, maybe slightly more.
I have never had "real" sriracha, I just never got around to it before the supplier kerfuffle and now it seems wrong.
But I do like the Chin-Su tuong ot sauce.
I bought it because I've already been using Chin-Su garlic chili (nuoc tuong toi ot) soy sauce. I'm in love with this stuff.
That sounds great, we'll definitely give it a try!
哈哈 好了is as Haole does… 😂 i love those racist fonts, thanks for “pointing” out! …The great thing about people wearing their pointy-hoods (intentionally or not) is that you can spot ‘em a mile away! Actually really like 👍 UR’s 🌶….. but 🐉? 𨳒.
Have you tried Exotic food SriRacha sauce from Thailand yet?
Very nice 🎉🎉🎉
I went down the sriracha rabbit hole and spent nearly $200 on various srirachas including some OG's. Sweeter than Huy Fong was typical. My favorite was Grand Mountain which was on par with Huy Fong's sugar content. Didn't taste at all like Huy Fong but is quite good.
Oh wow, if we had more pantry space, we probably would have hit that $200 (which definitely can happen quickly 😂)
I'm down to my last two bottles and I'm freaking out. I use huy fong on everything and you can't find it anywhere. I need a replacement or them to find product to give us the good Sriracha
I prefer Thai original Sriracha from Sriracha Panich anyday.
After sampling Ox Brand’s Sriracha (it’s very garlic forward which is ok) & then watching this vlog, I decided to go for Kroger’s Sriracha.
Kroger’s version is 90% similar to Huy Fong’s Sriracha ! It’s just missing that extra something but you can’t go wrong when it’s $3 for a 17oz bottle. I’M SUPER PICKY BTW !
Right?! We are willing to try everything Kroger from now on!
@@PeterLisaKim Do try Kroger’s Agave & Chipotle sauce ( it’s one sauce) ! It has a Burger King Zesty Onion Ring sauce-Thousand Island kinda vibe ! Great on burgers, fries, onion rings ect..!!
Sky valley is my go to now that I know the back story of Huey fong I won't buy their brand .....
There’s no shortage. Hoy Fong pulled some shady shit on farmers and now he screwed himself. No more hoy fong for a long time,
the Tobasco also has a heavy smokey flavor I didn't like
Should try Malaysian brands
Personally, I don't need the hot sauce to taste similar to Sriracha, but I don't want any possible alternative to taste sweet or of strangely bitter!
So many hot sauces that have Sriracha on their label have a weird taste that causes it barely even resemble the original! I'd rather stick with things like Frank's Red Hot, instead of constantly having to experiment with sauces to find something that resembles Sriracha.
Huy Fong Destroyed his product
I dislike Sriracha panich, not because it's bad necessarily but the flavor profile isn't what I want from using Sriracha
More garlicky, kinda too much for me
Lee kum kee if I can find it is my preferred
a sriracha shortage? nope. it depends which brand you´re looking for.
Did you watch the video or are you just naturally slow?
@@Ttibin0 ich sah das video und wollte nochmal explizit darauf hinweisen, dass es lediglich bei huy fong einen mangel gibt. andere hersteller von sriracha sind nicht betroffen.
@@wgnoob there was literally no need to say that there was no sriracha shortage with other brands. The video very clearly states that there’s only a shortage for Huy fong. Also i don’t know why you responded in German but it just proves my point further of how you’re just not using your brain properly
