Unfortunately most of these are not designer breeds. they are ancient breeds that are harder to be found because they are rare. Granted there were a few that were high priced because they are popular and the âINâ dog.
As For being designer dogs I did not see an English bulldog, Labre doodle etc.
I adopted an american akita as a pup at our shelter(father,mother,pups abandoned).cost me $60.she looked exactly like the one in this video.the smartest,calmest,noble,loyal,kind,loving dog i have owned.loved her for 14 wonderful yrs.she made me brave to explore and camp in rugged mt.ranges,face bears,face my fears.i truly believe i will see her again when i go home to Christ.
I had a Samoyed for 3 days. It was given to me for free, it died 3 days later of parvo. I was 9 years old, the dog was one of the most well behaved and friendliest dogs I had ever known for only having it 3 days. If they weren't so expensive and if most of my wardrobe wasn't black, I'd have another in a heartbeat.

YAH YEET Just because you can find someone who will sell Akitas for cheap doesnât mean there arenât people who sell them for top dollar. I had a Chow Chow growing up that my parents got from the shelter for $50. That doesnât mean they arenât still sold for thousands of dollars.
Akitas are not that expensive. I've been an Akita owner since 80s. There are many great Akitas at rescues across US. Many because humans are a holes and they are not for people who haven't researched the breed. If you can't be pack leader don't get one!

Yep all the Samoyed pups listed on the akc website are about $3000 or less. We are paying $2500 for ours but there is another breeder in a different state that has them for $1500.. we tried to get a rescue but with no luck. We need a dog with little dander and little drooling because our daughter has allergies.

Had a german shepherd as a kid and was looking for 1 to be my first dog as an adult-owner but when I saw the Akita that was 1 cage before the shepherd I decided to look at her 1st, and well, I never ended up seeing that shepherd cuz the Akita stole my heart immediately! She was the most loyal dog I'd ever seen or have seen still to this day. My wife and I tell our kids that she was our 1st child. She was still here when we had actual our first-born and she treated our baby with more love, tenderness, care and concern than we could ever have hoped for. Most likely, I will never own a different breed of dog...

Yea people are insane...they get so much business too by from good breeders save you thousands...i bout a squirrel of a dog for my wife at 1100 at pet land and have never regretted something more.
I bout an American bulldpg scott and a bulloxer (boxer am bulldog mix) together for that price both at 8 weeks 1 male 1 female dont waste time at puppy mills support do your research and support local and national breeders instead.
And when I say do your research...that means research on the breeder as well.

Iâve always wanted an American Akita. Growing up one of my aunts had this breed of dog in her backyard when I came over to visit one day & I fell in love.
It was a unique breed that I had never seen before. Nonetheless the dog was surprisingly friendly or maybe it could just since my good nature, Iâm still unsure. đ Iâve always loved animals. Except for cats for some reason.
But there are three dog breeds that I hope to one day own, a German Shepherd, a Husky, & an American Akita. All amazing in their own way, but all will be loved, trained & cared for just the same. None more than the other.

Yeah I'm clueless, possibly if it's costs related to importing the dog or if they're trained and competed adults but otherwise idk lmao. Haven't seen any responsible breeder charge over 3000 for a pup alone. I got my belgian shepherd laekenois (which are considered rare) for 1500.

My grandmother (who recently passed), had Akitas for quite some time. She did not pay for the dogs though, she found them on the side of the road in a box. Of course they were not completely free because, they had shots and what not :))

Alot of people in the comments aren't taking into account these costs come from breeder's associations where the pups age papered and have their bloodlines on file to ensure champion pedigrees. My chow chow, basenji/ Australian dingo hybrid, and Australian shepherd/ timber wolf hybrid are all extremely expensive dogs. A typical breeder of shepherd hybrids charges 800 just for unpapered pups.... I always tell people to adopt if you can it costs less but if you really want that breed sometimes your only option is to wait and hope to find one or contact a breeder
