Yes, massaging the pain with a ball , the pain started to go away after 15 seconds to 30 seconds. Even while standing and walking. pain reduction 5 of 10 to 2 of 10. I am doing the exercises Dr Alekseev recommended to strengthen the back extensor by lifting one leg at a time while lying down on a rolled cushion.
I learned a valuable lesson of engaging the larger supporting muscles to a weakened or damaged muscle,when my back pained while leaning over my bicycle and retracted the pedal with my hand. Pain level 7 of 10. I collaped. I could hardly move for the spasm. While lying I could not get out up by slithering and avoiding painfull movements .
Then , I discovered I could get up easily if I lifted my knees first and held the muscles in engaged state.
Amazing! it did not hurt a bit to stand up. Even though my back was still threatening to spasm if I repeated the bent over action.
So I listen very carefully to Dr Aleksev, I learn the muscle names ( back Extensor, Iliocostal muscles), do the stretches, massages and strengthening exercise because one day a small muscle will be hurt or damaged and the larger muscles need to be strong and engaged to support the little muscle.
