- Welcome back to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Today I'm doing some more viewer requests like reaching the top of Mt Everest, I also thought it would be fun to see how high we can go in a commercial airliner. Needless to say, it's quite high but due to the limits of the game, you cannot reach low earth orbit. Keep the suggestions coming and I hope you enjoyed this episode of Microsoft Flight Simulator!

Yeah gotta make sure it’s safe

So when the plane stalls and does those barrel rolls that’s actually called a spin where one wing is stalled more than the other and they swap the critical angle of attack at intervals,, to get out of them the acronym CFIs tell you is P.A.R.E., power out, ailerons neutral, opposite rudder, and elevator in (nose down) than out (pull back),, of course it’s gonna be hard to get out of an a CJ4 but try that next time :)
Not a CJ4, it is a Citation Longitude. Good job on PARE though
When you are looking at "breaking the sound barrier", you need to look at the True Air Speed (TAS) located under your airspeed tape. TAS is temperature compensated, where indicated airspeed is not. You hit over 1,000 kts in the descent.... Well over the sound barrier.
That is not a good way to see if you break the soundbarrier
He checked correctly. If you go 600 knots at 30.000 feet you go well over mach 1. Whereas you are like at the edge of mach 1 at like 5000 feat AGL
@@quintenmaas326 As long as you are talking about TAS vs IAS, sure. Like I said, he was over 1000 kts at a point in his descent... While commenting that he didn't know if he was going to make it. Just pointing out the discrepancy in looking at the wrong airspeed.
Hey at least I some fellow pilots
@C Mahoney TAS is in line with the label... not above
"I bet crashing in water will be a fairly soft landing"
Yeah, uh....water doesn't compress. If you just smack into it, it'll hurt. Bad.
eh, it more depends on how you go in.
Just like that airframce a330-200 that got flattened when it crashed into the water
Hit water hard enough and it's virtually as hard as concrete.
Water does compress and momentarily behaves like a solid as do all liquids.
@@CRAZYHORSE19682003 water does not compress in any meaningful way. It takes so much force to compress that it is typically referred to as incompressible.

You should fly over North Korea to see if anything is actually there- Great videos recently btw

As long as there's satellite imagery then it's in the game, so yes North Korea is fully in the game.

Hi, Drae. Long time fan but first time writing a suggestion.
It would be really cool if you could record flying over Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant in the north-east part of Lithuania. In reality the INPP is in the Restricted Flight Area but I bet there are no restrictions in the game (or are there?!). Hope you'll see it, Drae!
ohhhh yes, that'd be cool. i don't know what you're talking about, but he could make a longer video or something in which he's scouting out viewer suggested location that no one could get to in real life. including yours ( ! ), i'm really interested in your suggestion now lol
You did this whole flight with the landing gear down lol
omg it was triggering me.
Hey, he's a professional.
Drove me crazy, he had flaps out for far too long as well
truQB : how triggering was that
"We are on a 787 right now" 😂

Gday Drae, as a commercial pilot I love watching you fly around in the new flight sim. I’ll even let slide you calling the 747 (queen of the skies) a 787 😉
TABS got a New update. I hope Drae sees it
Of course he is... Maybe

I like it! Keep it up, I haven’t watched some of your videos in a year or so but it’s always good to come back to good old drae. :)
Drae I love watching you videos I have been watching your videos for about 2 and a half years I love watching you just know I will always watch you. Keep doing what your doing I hope you get even more views and subscribers
Damn it's been a long time since I've watched you and i like your content again and started watching you 4 years ago
Watching the beginning of the video reminds me when I lived in the Himalayan Mountains for 6 months & literally crapping myself on the take off from that runway
They need to add a space shuttle.
When you went over the edge I just got that feeling when you fall 😂😂😂
Microsoft: Creates the most realistic simulator ever seen to help pilots on learning to fly.
This 🅱️oi: I'm going to send a 747 to the space edge and then fall and break the sound barrier xD
It says on the TAS that you broke the sound barrier long before your IAS said you did- the reason for that "speed up" at the end is that hitting the thicker part of the atmosphere essentially let the airspeed indicator get a better reading on what you're actually going
I love the videos drae. have loved them for the last 3 and a half years.
Very fun to watch (and listen).
You add fun. Thanks, man.
That was very interesting and entertaining. Thx
Hi! Very nice video! This game is a must have for plane sims lovers 👍
Looks at atmosphere
Drae: Looks like we can see the ozone layer a little bit
This guy is freaking uneducated.. annoying
As a private pilot this is a lotta fun to watch :D
10:44 "Saddest Niagara falls I've ever seen"😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
The falls are a dissapointment but coolest flight sim video ever !!!
Nice tour. Thanks.
its wonderful watching a man that does not know how to fly a plane, try to fly a plane. ur amazing bro keep it up
Man Space did look awesome 😳
Professional take-off!
Hi drae, i didnt know you lived so close to me! I lived in falls city actually, i grew up here. I now live just outside the city. Kinda cool knowing one of my favorite youtubers lives so close.
sounds like a cross between Tiny tim tiptoe through the tulips and Mr McGoo loved the commentary
First time viewer. It took me like 2 min to subscribe. You’re hilarious!
I love this realism😂😂😂
You're stalling and tumbling. That's why your airspeed increases and decreases again. Try to keep your speed inside the types limit (should be somewhere around 280kt for the 747X) and use your elevators with "a gentle touch" and try to compensate roll with using aileron and rudder both into the same directions simultaneously. So when it rolls left aileron and rudder both slightly right and the other way round. If you start tumbling, just use rudder against rotating direction and when spin stops, pull up.
Btw, a B747 type will break apart before even getting near the speed of sound XD
Infinite Flight: "First time?"
Drae, try to land on Santos Dummont airport at Rio de Janeiro with the largest plane in the game. Legend says it is quite a task for pilots bc it is a international airport with a tiny runaway. Do it for your Brazilian fans!
4:17 That's not a barrel roll. That's an aileron roll.
Pro Tip when on short runway like that increase flaps!!! Nice Vid!!!
I love these videos
That's some thicc water!
What just happened with the bridge, when you went under it, was that all bridges... even the ones that look correct, aren't ... They all are essentially large rectangular boxes. Some look just that way, but even the ones that look correct have entirely incorrect collision areas. So, don't fly under bridges... 9 times out of 10 you will just wreck into an invisible wall.... actually, that would had been a black screen had you not had damage off.
Thanks for the laughs.
The sound barrier speed varies with temperature and altitude. The colder (or higher) it is, the slower the speed. Therefore you most likely broke the sound barrier while you were falling.
Hold onto your butts, Drea flying.
I like how he just gave up “I’m stalling”
When you go into any type of spin weather it be a flat spin (which are very hard to recover from) or a stall spin the first things you should do is
1. Full power
2. Full opposite Rudder (if your spinning right push rudder left/ vise versa
3. And pull yoke in the opposite direction of the spin aswell.
If the spin isn't to bad you should start to slowly come out of it and my tip is to push nose down untill you have enough controll to pull up and out of the dive
Do you know the settings he has the game set at to be able to stall like that i had it and it was more of a arcade feel
@@rwwbeast1 I don't think it was the settings buddy, it was more of the altitude, at that height if you stall out and start spinning even with all the steps you take to counter spin the thinness of the air simply makes it multiplyingly harder for the air hitting the control surfaces to pull the aircraft enough to counter a spin.
When a gamer messing around with a simulator!
So for that stall you did in the first jet (cessna citation x) when that happens us pilots do something called "PARE" recovery. Power goes to idle. Ailerons go nuteral. Rudder opposite of the spin. And elevator down for recovery. Best of luck!
Fun vid. Though it is harder to break the sound barrier when you have max flaps. That’s was also probably what was making the rapid descent so uncontrollable. They kept trying to pull up the nose.
surreal spooky thought of how little an atmosphere protects us from the radioactive vacuum of space
Well it would be awesome if Drae goes to the ocean which is the level of altitude zero and fall from the low earth orbit and somehow lift at the last sec, and I think there is some craters that are more lower way lower that he might lift from I would have said the great canyon but he already flew there
I love your content buddy, cheers
I love your videos

apply breaks before takeoff till the engine reaches 100% power then let go n takeoff
Niagra Bathtub. With random rocks. Crispy!
You should fly under the briges in the Spokane river, its located in Spokane WA. There's a lot of them.
This game is crazy.
I thought I used to waste time flying around in GTA... I’ve spent the past few days of my life flying up and down the coasts of the US
Hey Drae, You said you grew up 20 minutes from Niagara Falls, have you ever visted Rochester and see High & Low Falls, on the Genesee River?
Drae you could try some stunts in small planes under famous bridges or something lol
Very nice 👏👏

Hey drae, I have a suggestion for you. I live in a small town in central Michigan named Farwell. In May we had couple of dams fail and flood the Midland and Sanford areas. There are two lakes that no longer exist as they obviously emptied out. The lakes are name wixom lake and Sanford lake. Curious to see what MFS will look like and how up to date it is
4:59 “now were in a 787” hmm look at the tail man
Plane: displays name 747
Drae: “we on a 787 now guys”
you should go to the Bay of Fundy or the Hopewell rocks
On an earlier flight I was flying a sail plane. I wanted a ground launch. So I used the slew for maybe 1 or 2 seconds. It worked very well.
Captain Drae .. i know you already know this but just a reminder.. on take off or landing put on the flaps fully. So you need slower speed to take off and stabilize your approach to land after you take off put it back to 0° so it doesn't effect your air dynamics.
Not on take off you’re gonna stall right away. Put flaps to the 1st or 2nd setting on take off
You could always try some of the more weirder cooler places in the world such as Stonehenge, the Giants Causeway in Ireland, Aokigahara or Gunkanjima in Japan or even Chernobyl where the nuclear disaster happened.
Really surprising that they didn't do more work on the landmarks that they knew people would want to fly over. I hold out hope for future updates.
The sim also supports user created content, so there have already been a couple payed and free content packs fixing issues and adding detail to certain places. It's only a matter of time before someone fixes the falls.
The views were great! I thought the turbulence was bad (sent my coffee up onto the ceiling and onto the passengers behind me) until we started getting really throttled in those rough landings. But it was super fun getting to see such high altitudes, and the final destination was a great spot to rest and relax after that trip.
Thanks for being my pilot! 3.5/5 stars, would fly again if provided a crash helmet.
"We're at 400 kias...not quite breaking the sound barrier though" -- well, at that altitude you're definitely breaking the sound barrier at 400 kts...
Try flying under a big suspension bridge like Golden Gate or Mackinac, some guy a month ago did that, and the authorities weren't too happy about it.
Ah yes the classic 787 disguised as a 747...my favorite! Lmao
Hey drae u got creatures in game dev weekly (aka the hydroneer one)u were featured saying too much uncut gems lol
Try landing the Antonov in Lahr/Black Forest in Germany. You'll get 3km of runway from there ^^
That Cessna jet what is the max fuel cap in lbs u cam set urs to? For some reason mine will only go to 5,120 lbs. when it should be 14,000 lbs. wondering if it’s just mine
'Welcome to Drae airlines, I hope you have a good life insurance.'
Well im jealous cuz for some reason you have the new Flight Simulator and its not even out yet.
LIFT IT! LIFT IT!
When does a plane stall? Absolute amateur here, but love playing this simulator.
Search for fluid simulation wings stalling.
@@bernardobritto8352 Thank you. That's pretty complicated physics. Was really interested as did not understand why the plane would stall.
Try to land a 747 on the runway at Braden air park. It’s in Pennsylvania. It is a small single strip in Nazareth. I am assuming it is in the game.
Haha that’s not a barrel roll you stalled and put yourself in a spin. Apply full rudder to the opposite, neutralize the aileron. when the plane stops the rotation, you will be in the nose down attitude. Gently pull back the yoke to ease out of a dive. your speed at that point will be very excessive, apply power accordingly. :P
I went to Niagra Falls once an stayed in a hotel righr across the street from the falls! Was on the 31st floor so seen everything!! The hotel I stayed in had a walk way over an under the street to the casino acress the street. Was amazing LOL
