    The worse would be when the opponent is left with only one move, that checkmates you. Not leaving a slightest possibility of a screw up

      makes sense, but I've yet to see a move like that from a position so crushing as this 🤔

      @@sam_copeland I think there was one. Somewhere on Levy’s channel there should be a video about it.

      @@couldntcareless7884 yeah, it was where the queen goes down to the right corner, and the bishop was forced to take. It was 100% forced too iirc

    At a rating of 950, I'm well used to one move blunders that quickly result in a checkmate! You never get over that confused shock at seeing the game suddenly end!

    Sam. When showing the games give at least 10 seconds to 'focus' on the position before the key moves .... the games you showed gave us 'no time' at all. It was all a blurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Good idea, though..........

      @sam_copeland  Před rokem +2

      Fair enough! Since I was showing blunders I didn't try to set up more time before the move was played like I would a puzzle 😛

    there was a video on yt years ago where a GM plays only move that allows mate was a Q+B endgame and white was moving up the board between pawns and got mated by Q diagonally

    I really dislike making obvious blunders or winning by obvious blunders, so anti-climactic. As 1450, that's a lot of games which end this way.

    You can tell how bad I am because I guessed the move in the first game

    do you read off a script. How do you speak so well and not stutter etc. it seems like there's no cuts in the video either. or at least long runs of talking

    • @rmendeljacobs2832
      @rmendeljacobs2832 Před rokem

      Oh I think I see the fade now, the cut is so incredibly subtle

    • @sam_copeland
      @sam_copeland  Před rokem

      Not sure I should give away my secrets (kidding... it's simple stuff) but I usually make a rough outline/script that I put in a doc I can refer to, and then I go from there. It's never verbatim, but I find it saves a lot of time a lot vs. having no prep and forgetting things I meant to say or needing to do multiple takes.
      I tend to use a couple of "morph cuts" which can be subtle. If I'm really trying to hide them, the cuts can be basically invisible, but I don't usually put that level of effort in.
