Because of this, people tend to confuse “mental exhaustion” with “laziness” since they both look similar on the surface level.       I miss having the joy of reading usually I memorize a lot… anhedonia is hitting hard in other words…. it is like I’m losing the pleasure day by day of what I enjoy.     I relate to most of these but I have a feeling that in reality I am just lazy, but I don't know how to stop being lazy.     My parents and family think that I’m lazy, and when I tried telling my dad and mom, I’m mentally exhausted they said “you just lazy” or how my dad said “it’s your fault, you do this to yourself”.     This explains quite a lot, considering what happened to me during high school, my first job, and now my current job. Early on, I would be doing well, performing as expected, but would usually experience a steady decline after a year or so. After a while, it was like I "checked out" and stopped caring if I was doing well in school, or if my work performance was at an acceptable level. It would get to the point where someone would intervene, whether it was my manager, or a parent/teacher meeting, and they'd question why I was doing so poorly despite having such a good start.
    So many times, I've heard "C'mon, you're very smart! You were doing so well! Why aren't you applying yourself, now?" I couldn't give an honest answer to that for a long time, but now I realize it was because I was mentally, and sometimes physically, exhausted, to the point where I would effectively shut down. I also learned that my mind fatigues much more quickly than the typical person, after being diagnosed as highly sensitive by a therapist. Having to process that sheer volume of sensory information in an unfamiliar and chaotic working/learning environment is another contributing factor to all this.

    I finally found the reason why I was feeling so irritated all the time. I used to be good at studies, but now I feel like everything is burdensome. Nowadays, I daydream a lot too. I can fully relate to the 2-3 signs you have mentioned in the video.

      It is disappointing that society refuses to understand that the current learning system for schools is not for everyone. I had enormous difficulties throughout my 12 years because I eventually learned that I was a more hands-on and "in the field" person once I started working.

    Oh my God, I've never related SO MUCH with a video like I did to this one. It's like you described my life in the past few years. I still don't know where I should begin because there's still a lot of stigma that I'm just being lazy, unmotivated etc and not mentally exhausted. It's hard to try to swim all alone. I hope this feeling will end one day and that I can get my energy and my vibes again.

    Este vídeo me define totalmente, últimamente me estaba sintiendo muy culpable por no sentirme con la suficiente energía para hacer nada, he sentido que cualquier cosa (por más pequeña que sea) me irrita mucho e incluso he tenido muchos problemas para poder concentrarme en mis tareas escolares e incluso en las cosas que disfruto hacer, ahora que conozco cual podría ser el problema intentaré adaptar mi rutina para continuar siendo productivo y a la vez reducir el estrés u otros factores que causan que me agote mentalmente.     I don't even remember when this started, but it was recently.. It felt like all the negative emotions and thoughts hit me simultaneously, and I tried distracting myself with work, funny videos, searching on Google how to deal with negativity (which made it worse for some reason). There was a point I felt so small and helpless I wanted to curl up a drown myself in tears. But you helped me so much, I feel calmer, and accepted that I can have those emotions because everyone does. I'm very grateful for your channel, thank you so much!

    Yes to all of these! I know I'm overworking myself, exactly because I want to help in all ways possible, and when the world went into lockdown I got hired for yet another essential job. A year later I'm aware of the overwhelming exhaustion, yet unwilling to give anything up even to retain my sanity.

    Im mentally exhausted, but I cant stop due to academic anxiety, I dont really know what to do sometimes, but I guess I need to make a final effort and wish this summer to let me rest and be more "fresh" for next year. Im only on my first year of career, but studying for the university entrance exams with the pandemic, not stopping from 9 AM till 9 PM during an entire year, just studying, was killing, but now I cant stop

      Yeah, I’m usually very ‘bubbly’ and ‘overly energetic’ as people have described me, but I feel like I have the self motivation of a slug in a CrossFit race lately 😅 tbh I have been through some tough events (don’t wanna say traumatic but intense moments that constantly test my mental health) in the past year so there’s that.

    No wonder why I feel tired everyday is because I keep maladaptive daydreaming I guess daydreaming can also lose energy I think? Because everytime I day dream I feel exhaustion and when I'm making a story for my video but the mind is faster than my physical body thats why I feel tired and easily get sleep in the afternoon even though I want to finish it

    I need to say this:
    I think I'm recently depressed and very anxious because I have a lot of responsibilities and as thevideo says, I dont feel motivated.
    First (I'm 17, Male) I have to go to my online classes, I think some of them are a waste of time but anyways I have to attend, then, I have to do all my homework of 11 assignments, (it's important to mention that I do my best to be the best in class and have the best average and grades, rn I have 9.8 average) then i have to help any friend or whatever with their homework, I have to eat, exercise a bit, help my parents with the chores and activities in the house and finally like at 4 or 5 I'm completely free, but...
    My main bad thing is that, apart from those stressing things, I have a youtibe channel, I focus on art, tutorials maybe some diy, I have a couple of lego videos, and a lot of illustrations in my style, but the issue is that youtibe is another big responsibility in my life, I have to record, edit, and upload and sometimes I just dont feel like recording, or if I have all the clips, i dont want to edit, and sometimes I get angry and frustrated because I dont have enough storage in my ipad to download the full video (I record in my ipad because I'm not rich and new in youtibe) and all that makes me really stressed.
    And all those responsibilities and time spent just for not even being monetized on CZcams, I dont have money to make more videos or to make a better quality (my videos aren't bad but i think they can improve)
    The fact that i dont get a reward for my videos is what's making me sad and depressed and anxious and stressed because I out effort on that and for example in my last video I only got like 79 views and 15 likes, and the views are from me rewatching the video and the likes are from me and my family and close friends.
    Idk what to do, should I keep doing my videos until I grow and grow bigger, or should I stop, or even doing them with less frequency until I get monetized or grow more

      Let me tell you one thing, success always takes time and this law specially applies to CZcamsrs. And the fact that you're not giving up and still going on with your channel even with the burden of 11 assignments is amazing.       Btw I'm 16(male) and have also gone through a similar situation once so I can totally relate to your struggles. Anxiety and depression are hard to deal with but not impossible. So stay safe and I hope these problems will fade away soon

    My parents always make me mentally exhausted but when they see me to be mentally exhausted my parents are like "stop being lazy and be active" on the other hand I also used to feel the same that I'm lazy but this video just proved me that what I think for myself is wrong.

    Dang. This was me during my last 2 years of college. Unfortunately the signs were already present years before due to an undiagnosed illness. I really wish my parents had taken me to the doctor instead of forcing me through things. Remember to have compassion for yourself and it’s ok to take a break and figure out what’s wrong. A few months off for a great life later is way better than forcing yourself through life when you’re not well ❤️

    i relate to all of these things. i used to be so good in school, even in distance learning , like mid year i lost so much motivation, and started caring less about school, and other things. i get distracted easily, and procrastinate a lot. when i have just a small list of tasks that used to be easy jobs for me, it seems like a lot, and i tend to wait until the last minute, and do it at 1 am. i find my self irritable, and even get told that i am. my mom has been talking about all these changes that are probably gonna happen within the next year or two, and i honestly don’t want it to happen, a new house, her getting married, the truth is, i want her to be happy, but those changes are gonna be hard for me, but i usually hide my feelings, bury them down, and i feel the stress sometimes, and i feel like exploding honestly, it gets hard

      @@yournewfriend6247 Well I feel exhausted because well bullying. Now that this person stopped that next thing would be my studies but here's a thing. Teachers didn't do anything about the bullying even though it's their responsibility. I talked to curator. Nothing both of them. My teacher and curator are more interested about my studies than my mental wellbeing. So I told the bullying all the way to principal and lord and behold. Principal told that to curator so she could talk with me about it. But curator wasn't happy about me sending message to principal. Now I feel as if I did something wrong. I don't have motivation to do anything yet I don't want to seem lazy.

    I have a presentation and 2 exams for tomorrow but here I am watching your video and getting more understand why I felt sooo unmotivated lately. even just to fold my laundry, I had to contemplate for an hour to decide when I will do that....
    being a grad student and anything we have to do are not easy, especially in these pandemic days.
    I do hope everyone finds joyful things in daily life, even just from the simplest forms.

    i relate to all of these so much, but whenever I try to talk about my issues they get shrugged off or ignored and I always find it awkward talking about my problems and concerns , or even myself in general , so I don't even bother trying anymore, but I want to overcome my mental exhaustion but I can never speak up, I've just been really stuck right now, these videos really help me learn a lot more about my emotions and answer a lot of questions, so thank you so much for making these videos

    This explained what I'm going through right now. I stopped my education for a while because I felt 'overwhelmed'. Even the simple assignments, I couldn't get it done because I get distracted by the things around me. I felt guilty because I thought I wasn't doing my best and I was just being lazy.     I’ve been expressing what I felt to my family. So far, only my brother is supporting me while my dad just kept his silence and my mom keep on attacking me for being extremely tired of everything. I’ve been staying at home for 3 semesters and hearing my mom calling me worthless for the smallest thing possible everyday is not helping. The workloads my lecturers gave me and my classmates felt like they’re implying that we’re are available for 24 hours because we’re at home while in reality, I’ve got so much more responsibilities when I’m at home. I got responsibility as a daughter, I got responsibility for helping around the house doing various chores and sometime I don’t even have time to manage myself anymore. I started to complain more and more, being angry everyday, feeling extremely frustrated and upset over everything. I was always a calm person before and I’m not that person anymore, it terrifies me. I started to lose interest in studying, I felt very VERY demotivated and even during exams, I’m just sitting on my desk, daydreaming and doing nothing. Even playing games sounds tedious to me. Sometimes I felt like I’m going crazy and I’m not pleased with how I acted right now. I would be lying if I said I’m not trying to change my lifestyle. But school works doesn’t help. Every weeks, I at least have 6 assignments to submit, and it’s not like the basic type of assignments cuz it requires us a lot of time to do it, requires further understanding to be able to do it. My lecturers aren’t helping either, they kept on changing on how we must do the assignments and always giving us extra works aside from those assignments. The extra works at least 2 per one subject. I have 9 subjects to focus on, which mean I have the average of 24 works to complete within a week. I kept on sleeping late, sometimes not sleeping at all until at one point, I just stopped doing everything. I ignored all those extra works and just focussing on the main assignments. I can’t really express on how tired I am now, and I possibly need to stay at home too for next semester! When I got time to sleep, I just really hope I die the next day, and I’m not even joking about it. I’m just, exhausted both physically and mentally. I really hope everything end. That’s all I want.
