This was wonderfully helpful. Alicia's experience of mind-body syndrome resonates with my own quite a bit, and I feel a lot of hope and inspiration after listening to her describe her recovery and current experience. Thank you so much to you both for taking the time to offer this freely.

Dr. Baston, do you think prolonged benzodiazapine withdrawal symptoms (known as POST ACUTE WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME) could be a MindBody situation. It took me 4 years to taper off Klonopin due to debilitating symptoms, including severe fight/flight and crushing fatigue & depression. Then I developed adrenal fatigue, POTS, TMJ, tinnitus, food sensitivities, histamine intolerance, GERD, and multiple ANS issues. I believe many of the symptoms are stress induced but I also believe the stress is chemically based due to the benzos. All of the current information about benzodiazapines say that they actually damage the brain, in particular the gaba receptors. I can’t get a consensus from other MindBody doctors. I would love to know your opinion. Thank you for your help.

I hope you don't mind me chiming in, but as someone who has gone through benzo withdrawal multiple times, I would say yes, it's definitely caused - or at least greatly exaggerated - by MBS/PPD/whatever you want to call it. Benzo withdrawal should not be that extreme and protracted. That's just one random internet dude's opinion 🙃

What?! No response from the doctor? What a surprise. I'm sorry they ignore folks.

@@marsbeads - yes! Thank you. Do you also have a question about benzodiazapines

@@robinelliott5561 No, I don’t have a question for her. I’ve seen her in person. She is insistent that my migraines and anxiety can only be helped with her methods. Her personality is cold and not helpful with other treatments.

@@marsbeads Why would you see a mindbody doctor if you wanted her to treat it physiologically?
