i started street skating with jam plugs and it caused me to get a lot more creative with stopping!
Awesome! Just remember to always remember that you have in jam plugs. It’s easy to forget. That’s what helps me. That fall forward is no joke! Check out rhythm skating videos like Malik Thomas.

Try the plow stop its fast and easy
Basically stand on one foot and drag all four wheels on your other skate and keep tension in your leg

First try T brake and after that try circle brake

I just put my skate about 90 degrees to the side, the rubber on the skate acts as a sort of brake

Try MT!!- there is nowhere to skate except outdoors-
The rinks are beyond lame.
At least you have Spokane… there’s a somewhat decent rink there and probably one in Seattle.
Get some lower durometer wheels and just skate outside --
70-75a are good for streets unless you’re 300 lbs
Then 80-85a

I got my own vans custom skates and took the toe stoppers off completely and put fiberglass wheels on. If you don’t know what they are their the most mobile wheels you can get and are completely grip less. It’s like skating in ice and extremely slippery, theirs no limit. Theirs not real way to stop but to slow down I usually either slide one foot to the side forward and the other one kinda dragging or do a spin.
