Yeah, OSU ended their playoff berth as well that year. Unfortunately Playoff committee had a hard on for Bama who didn't even win their conference. Too bad they won the natty that year
I believe the Wisconsin team this year is better than the Wisconsin team that year by the slimmest of margins. The 2017 team was just slightly more disciplined and smarter as a whole.
As a Buckeye fan I just never understood the JT Barrett love affair. He was a decent QB, nothing more and nothing less! I remember screaming for Haskins to start this game, as it was he, not JT, who bailed us out against Michigan the week before. His two turnovers kept this game as close as it was.
The guy was a winner. Whenever we needed a huge first down he got it. He put the team on his back many times throughout his career as a Buckeye. He didn't have the biggest arm. Wasn't the fastest guy. He just always made plays when we needed them. People always want to hate on Barrett but if it wasn't for him we would have never won the national title in 2014. After we lost the game to VA Tech early in the year that man came out and played phenomenally the entire season up until breaking his ankle towards the end of the Michigan game. Dude was a warrior. IDC what anyone says, if the game is on the line I always felt confident when #16 had the ball.

JT was a winner.
Full stop.
When everything broke down around him he lifted us up. When we were slow he put the wind in our sails. When we played sloppy & undisciplined he took control & got everyone around him on the same page.
He'll probably not ever get the credit he deserves but the man flat out played football & won games.
And that's all we asked of him. What more can you ask of someone?
Also, he was 4-0 vs ttun. 'nuff said

That's a rather silly and uninformed assertion, considering all the records JT broke. Highlights:
* B1G - Career offensive yards, Career & Season TDs, and Career TD Passes (passed Drew Brees)
* OSU - Career passing yards (passed Art Schlichter), Career & Season TD passes, Career & Season completions & completion %, Wins as starting QB
In all, Barrett held 5 B1G and 34 OSU records when his career ended. (Dwayne Haskins subsequently broke 2 of those B1G and 7 of the OSU records.)

Still have no clue how Haskins has an NFL job and JT Barrett doesn't...
He gave Wisconsin every opportunity to stay in this game even when Ohio State was a far superior team. Haskins never would’ve thrown those two boneheaded interceptions.

@@NCISfanatic21 Barrett was better than Pryor, Krenzel, Boeckman, Zwick and Braxton Miller as well. You seem to forget the Buckeyes have always been a quarterback away. It was such a shame our offensive line and defense was so bad last year. Haskins was amazing in the pocket.
Let's not forget Cardale Jones. His accuracy was the worst.
