Always a great conversation. Only suggestion: if possible, a two hour discussion would be even better. It's not every day that you get a bunch of Nobel prize winners from different areas to sit on a roundtable and talk with each other.

Tho it seems like a missed opportunity to have these brilliant minds gathered around the same table focusing solely on this topic for the entire hour. This episode would be much more interesting if they talked more about physics, chemistry, medicine and economic sciences, seeing intellectual exchanges among these great minds.

While this conversation is among brilliant minds like you said yourself, the conversation is led to strike a general appeal to most people, who otherwise wouldn''t be reached if it got too technical.
I'd love it as well, but this conversation is used to give the winners a megaphone to speak about what they think is important to bring into conversation on a platform like this, a platform they might not have the opportunity to attain again. This, in large part, is used to encourage future students, who maybe otherwise wouldn't be encouraged if they listened to someone talk about why quantum dots are coated in organic capping ligands for an hour, for example. There exists other avenues for those kinds of conversations.
Watching this, it's evident to me that each of the researchers are not only exceptional in their fields and in their abilities to glean truth from reality, but they each seem to be very good people who think in complicated ways trying to benefit society & others. Thank you to the Nobel committee, the Royal family of Sweden, and the awardees for this wonderful glimpse.
I strongly believe their ability to glean truth from reality lies in their unending curiosities which is a self-fuelling driving factor in their search for answers. You’re bound to stumble upon nuggets of knowledge and wisdom by continuously asking “why?” and “how?” about our world. It’s beautiful. I wish there were some kind of human HDMI cable to view inside peoples’ minds haha

oh shoot, I took the Thermodynamics course by Moungi Bawendi online hosted by MIT-OCW about 4 years ago, and he was just amazing. Like total class. He has been my role model since then because it was at that time that I was in the process of getting out of the "rote memorization" shell of mine. I was just shy of 3 lectures of completing the course, but man, it was an amazing experience taking that course. Thanks Moungi, you deserve this!

1. Most of them are really specific about what they want to say and humbly correct/add context whenever the question asked has a broad scope.
2. Anne was my favorite in this panel. Her childlike amusement and clarity of thought really pulled me in.

Added: Aside from encouraging participation in prospective students, it’s also important to find a way of increasing retention of students in STEM who may become discouraged and be on the precipice of dropping out during their studies in those fields.

As a medical student, I've realized the incredible impact biomedical engineering has on improving healthcare. From creating innovative instruments to tackle various diseases to enhancing patient care, it's fascinating how technology merges with medicine. I believe being part of the team that invents these cutting-edge tools is just as fulfilling as practicing medicine. Hope i get to study further in that field.

I think nobel laureates aren't much celebrated despite their huge contribution to mankind..and this is what saddens me the most. They are the ACTUAL heroes of the world. In todays world as a teacher we need to look at our education systems as 1st to 12 grade need to look at each student there are students who show glimpses of excellance in particular subjects and need to be encouraged.
Those Laureates who successfully mastered there field of interests has contributed so much in our society and to the world, they deserved the award and the applause.

So far, I have watched all the Nobel laureates, each one has put forward different ideas and that is what makes them stand out from the rest. I think you should give the 2024 Nobel Prize to those who find the solution to Global Warming and other such problems, because this is the first problem. The world is in danger.
