Whisky.com reviews the Laphroaig Lore. Laphroaig Lore stands for the transmission of knowledge and tradition. The Johnston brothers laid the foundations for the Lore recipe back in 1800. Since then, the whisky has been further developed by several Laphroaig distillery managers and master distillers. Lore combines this knowledge and the history of Laphroaig. For the most part, 15 to 21-year-old casks were used for the single malt. A small proportion of younger malts were also used.

Horst I just bought a bottle of Laphroaig Lore this weekend!! What a wonderful video to find today! I vastly prefer this Laphroaig expression to the Laphroaig 10 although in Vancouver the price difference is massive!! Laphroaig 10 is $87 Canadian before taxes and get this - Laphroaig Lore is $205 Canadian before taxes!! Seriously!! Is this justified?!! A bit insane but it's delicious!! I love the Quarter cask! Lagavulin smoke is my favourite - elegant, classy, sophisticated!! Laphroaig is a bit rough although I can also love a punch in the face from Laphroaig Lore or Quarter Cask or amazing Ardbeg!! Love your reviews! No one else is as knowledgeable!! Understatement!! I'd love it if you'd write a book on scotch!! I hope you are well!! Cheers!! :-)

I must admit I didn't realise that Lore was such a recent offering. I think it's a great standard bottling and there's not much to complain about. Now if only they'd bring back the 15 as a regular offering as well as Triple Wood! I've got the 16yo of course, an early 2000s 15 and the 200th 15th. The 18 I felt was very much overpriced sadly.

Hmmmmmmm I am seriously considering this for a gift for my nephew who has wanted to try Laphroaig for the first time.

That would be a good choice! Also consider giving him the Laphroaig Quarter Cask or perhaps the regular 10yo.

I just tried this in Edinburgh last week. I had not heard of it. It is cool that you would choose to review it at this time. The one I tried had a black label though. Is this the same whisky just a new label?
