I love my 2020 F350 SRW Lariat with the 7.3L gas engine. On country drives, where it's mostly 55 mph and very little stopping, I have gotten 16.9 mpg. In town only and that plummets to between 12.5 and 14 mpg. Soon I will be towing my 40' Montana RV and it will be interesting to see how it does on a similar country drive.
I really like the reviews and information on both trucks and RV that you provide on this channel. Thank you and keep up the good work.
My F-350 7.3L Tremor is scheduled to be built this week. I can’t wait to get it. Already looking into 5th wheel campers too. The truck should handle the small 5ers that I am looking at with ease.
I love my tune and deleted 2018 f350 amazing truck
Great Review👍
I agree with your review and love my F350 Tremor, I believe though the Tremor package you're driving has a 2" lift in the front to handle the stock 35" tires.
I've got a ‘18 350 lariat, and roll 37x12.5 toyo at3s w/ stock suspension and no issues.
By the way good job!
It would be cool if someone showed a video on wiring up to the UPLIFTER SWITCHES.
Very simple, they all run next to the passenger battery, run the power to the switch fuse and then ground to battery
awesome review thanks
Thanks bro 👍🏾
The menus are a hate for me. The Wireless Apple Car Play is amazing, although this is not a Ford F-350 specific feature. Tailgate step is useful. The steering wheel and seat move when exiting the vehicle. It is either both or nothing I would love to have the option to do one or the other. Great video.
Thanks for sharing bro 👍🏾
I think I’m in shock! I think you just admitted that the Ram tow mirrors are a distant 3rd place! 😂
I'm highly interested in getting a 250 or 350 in the next year or so but I've heard rumors about problems with the 10-speed transmission can anybody elaborate? Thank you sir for the video I highly enjoyed it!!!
JB, another great video. That is a beautiful truck. However, I am a Ram 3500 guy. I have owned an F350. Reliability is an issue. Had a catastrophic engine failure on a V10. Cost me 11k to replace the motor. I find the Ford to be cheap quality. Ram has to make some refinements as both Ford and GM have upped their game. IMO, Ram remains the gold standard for heavy duty luxury trucks.
With Aisin transmission?
You can install now power fold mirrors, oem.
My RAM mirrors are power, I just have to push the button
Love- the large Cab of the Ford, I think it’s the best of all 3 in terms of space. Hate- Reliability was always my concern would looking at Ford. I’ve mentioned that a few times with issues from family and neighbors. Love the videos.
Thanks for sharing bro, Sometimes reliability can be the owners fault too but Ford has a rough history but I think they are a lot better! 👍🏾👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork I agree, I hope your journey out west is working out great. Love those updates.
Just to chime in on reliability of the 6.7 powerstroke the only real failure point is the CP4. My brother has 2011 with 265000 and just starting to put money in to for routine maintenance. I have a 2011 with almost 300 thou on it runs like a top. Those motors last and will run a million miles if maintenance is done on time everytime !!!
@@chucklohnes7652 I agree Chuck for the most part. My neighbor (who has since moved) was absolutely crazy about his truck in terms of maintenance and cleanliness and it just had issues. I think it was a 2014 I believe. It was in the shop for injectors multiple times and some other stuff. He might have got a bad truck for sure but it just something is saw first hand. The neighbor down the street was also having a few DPF/EGR issue about 18 months ago but I’m sure that can happen to all these newer trucks. I believe in the Ford and might have had one but the dealer was too proud of their truck in Jan of 2021. I’m not brand bias at all. I think all of the big 3 makers really do a good job of making these trucks. It’s the EPA that has basically ruined diesels for the long term owners with all the DPF stuff. I hope your Ford lasts forever.
@@DavidBrown-jt7yi my 22 ram 3500 has had the DEF light on 3 times in 10 thou miles. I only have 13 thou on the truck. They definitely ruined all the diesel when that crap was put on are trucks.
Can you fold the back seats down and go to sleep comfortable??
I'd love it especially if I ever get the 22 F350 Lariat I ordered months and months ago haha.
Yea it’s crazy…
@@JB_WhoWork yeah im a cummins guy too. Just sold my 11 3500 g56 truck. I was dead set on a new laramie cummins and then I test drove the 22 fully loaded lariat powerstroke and fell in love haha.
I hate the exhaust brake on the ford and that’s it. My Ram exhaust brake works amazing that’s it. That being said I’m ordering a 23 super duty. Going back to Ford again. Gave Ram a shot but I miss the Ford enough to go back.
Thanks for sharing Chuck 👍🏾
I’m with you man, went to ram 3500 2017 longhorn actually sort of wished I still had that one but went for a 2019 longhorn 3500 with the HO and aisin really didn’t like it. Right before as covid started I got a hell of deal on a f350 tremor ultimate and absolutely love it. The 2017 ram was nice ram great sold it got great money and actually had ordered the 2019 crazy MSRP even then at over 90k 🤪 the cord 64k at dealer cost due to no sales thanks to covid so make lemonade out of lemons!
Crazy I have never seen a tremor with the larger factor front valance. I swapped my Fx4 front valance with the factory tremor one. It’s way better for ground clearance and overall appearance.
can i with a class b driver's license drive these big pickups with and fift wheel rv in the us? and that you don't need class c because of the weight?
I wish I could fold my mirrors with the fob. My XLT doesn’t have that. Do you know if the spare tire area will hold the 35x12.5 tire?
I’m not sure 🤔
Can confirm that it will
@@lanehart6525 Awesome thanks
All you said is why I'm thinking the Super duty for 2023 if ram doesn't do something. Not a lot of news but I wonder how the Supreme Courts ruling on the powers of the epa to regulate emissions will effect on road diesel? I'm like the Super duty the more I look at it. The platinum I looked at had a 3970 payload! 300 more lbs than my 21 3500 ho Laramie.
What was the GVWR?
I'm still waiting on the mpg unloaded after you put the 35s on..;)
Mine gets 20-21 mpg on the highway with 3.55 gears. Somewhere between 9 and 11 when towing my 15000 lb 5er.
right on. my 22 cummins came with 33.5 stock. I keep looking at the Falken wild peaks
I love the 48 gallon fuel tank in the long bed Ford.
I took my stock 38 gallon out and put a Titan 65 gallon in it. I can now pull my 15,000 lb 5er almost 600 miles without refueling. LOVE IT!!!
@@secretsquirrel572 I have a 2018 Ram 3500 long bed and am looking at Titans 55 gallon tank for it. I wish I could do a 65 gallon that would be awesome but 55 is better then the current tank that’s stock in my truck. I think it’s only 35 gallons, maybe?
@@TermiteBenny I guess I don’t understand why Ford and Dodge don’t pay attention to what guys do with aftermarket upgrades and work them in at the factory. Even if you use these truck as daily drivers running about the town you still can use a 65 gallon tank but the highway haulers really need larger tanks. Maybe it’s about weight and GVWR. Dunno. Do the 55 gallon though. You won’t regret it… until someone makes a larger tank. 😂🤣😂
@@secretsquirrel572 they could at least make the larger tanks a option. Over the years they have slowly adapted to the aftermarket items people do to their trucks after they buy them, factory installed fifth wheel hitches, spray in bed liners, trailer brake controllers, floor mats, side steps… and so on. I like that the chassis cab trucks allow options for the fuel tanks at least. I still remember buying a brand new truck only to have holes cut in the bed for a gooseneck hitch and plug installed in the bed, a bulky brake controller drilled into the dash, then take it somewhere else to have a spray in bed liner and side steps installed.
Nice truck...
Where you able to test the exhaust brake by tapping on the brakes to activate it on the Ford? Ram comes on automatically when releasing the gas, but Ford is supposed to be activated by quickly tapping on the brakes.
I did try tapping the brakes but all I could hear is the engine brake but didn’t notice the speed reducing
@@JB_WhoWork I think it just supposed to maintain that speed in a downhill while trailering, not bring it to a stop.
It didn’t even maintain the speed, I increased by 3 mph after tapping the brakes going down a grade
@@JB_WhoWork thanks for checking
I’d add: 1) New Super Duty’s are all aluminum. Being in Midwest that matters for longevity. 2) Better rear seat, dealbreaker on Ram for wife. 🤷♀️
That road salt is no joke if you don’t stay ahead of it!
Floor on the cab is metal and that’s where they all start to rust.
Great 👍 video n your forget fuel ⛽️ economy n Ford Super Duty keep kicking butt in sales , BEST American 🇺🇸 made truck ever
Thanks bro, I think the RAM/Ford are still close in terms of fuel mileage 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork JB buy Hannah a Ford as a back up 🆙 if the Ram breaks down
No way, it’s opposite
6.7 is made in Mexico
@@repairvehicle is the 6.7 very reliable n how’s it on fuel ⛽️
The only thing I don't like about the Ford, is If you get a super cab, you cannot order the Lariat ULTIMATE package. There is no good reason for this in my opinion. I need a long bed. The Super-cab with the long bed is a long 254.4 inches. A crew cab with a long bed is 266.2 inches. Thats over 22 feet long!
They probably didn’t want to update the rear interior because most people would rather the bigger cab 👍🏾
Who in the world orders a super cab these days? Honestly? I’m quite surprised that most manufacturers even produce them still.
@@secretsquirrel572 The ONLY reason why I am considering a super cabis..... I want a long bed, so I can just use a goose neck ball, and I can carry a portable diesel tank. I do not want to deal with a heavy slider. The length of the super cab is already going to be 17 inches longer than my Ram. In my opinion, I do not like the look of the Super cab, but it will also be a daily driver and the turning radius increases by 1.8 feet on the crew cab which adds another 3.6 feet to a U-Turn. If it wasnt going to be a daily driver, I would get the Crew Cab. I an always open for comments from others. That how we learn,
If you can afford $90k truck you can afford 10k cp4 replacement
Not necessarily. We live in a country where people want more than they need so everything is financed. Just because you can finance something doesn’t necessarily mean you can afford it.
@@secretsquirrel572 , did I say financing?
@@repairvehicle you said “afford” but 95% of vehicles bought are financed. Maybe that’s why most people don’t do the recommended CP4 replacement. They cannot AFFORD it. Lol
@@secretsquirrel57250% of truck buyers cannot afford trucks anyway, according to the banks.
Remote folding mirrors: an unasked for $olution iso a problem? Just mo money.
It would be traded long before it became a problem for me lol
The 2 things I hate about a Ford when you open the hood There's a mass of tubes and wires very busy hard to work on and when you get out it beeps at you very annoying
Great points, I’m planning to do a what I hate vid next 👀
The exit beeping, along with a host of other changes, can be reprogrammed in the computer. Just search some of the Ford truck forums for details and how-to information. And... yes, it is annoying ;-)
Looks a little nose high on that fiver... might want to adjust that.
It is but it’s within spec
@@JB_WhoWork I thought the same thing… nose high. I ran my airbags at 85 psi and was nose high like this and the trailer had a lot of weight on the rear axle making it wonder a bit at speed. I lowered the pressure to 75 and it brought the trailer to almost level and it pulls SOOOOO much better.
I love you bro but come on man 🤣🤣RAM
💪🏾💪🏾
The two things I hate about the Ford. The V8 design of the Power stroke. An inline 6 is a true diesel design! Ask any diesel mechanic. My other hate is the limited viewing area over the hood.
Is that why Ford Power Stroke makes more power and torque than the Cummins?!? 😂🤣😂
@@secretsquirrel572 I would hope it would having two more cylinders!! More problematic however! 🤣🤣
@@BigBadJohnDiesel please tell me you’re joking. 🤔🤔🤔
Lets do an experiment. In one paragraph. Make
Me want
To switch from my 3500 high country. To a ram truck.
If you’re driving a Chevy in 2022… there’s no hope for you. Not even gonna try. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
@@secretsquirrel572 everything is a turd these days. Just gotta pick which turd you wanna polish.
I like both Ford and Dodge. Cummins makes the Dodge and without Cummins… the Ram HD models would go under. I think this speaks volumes to Fords ability to build a diesel from scratch that competes with, and in most cases, beats the Cummins I6. I mean let’s be honest… most complaints about the Ford is only about the factory exhaust brake being weaker which can be easily upgraded. I’ve considered buying a Dodge but the rest of the truck just falls apart around the motor whereas the Fords just mature like a fine wine. I know the diehard Dodge guys will attack this analysis but they cannot deny it. LOL. I’ve got a 2011 F350 SRW King Ranch long bed that is nearing 200,000 miles and I’ve not had a single engine problem to date. There are several 600,000+ mile 6.7 Fords running around on the original rotating assembly and Power Stroke Tech Talk featured a 1.3 million mile 2013 model F350 that’s gone through a couple turbos and a few other failed parts but still on the original rotating assembly. Show me a modern 6.7L Cummins with that many miles. 😀😀😀
Good points. She may be ugly but she got a 10 speed😂💪🇺🇸Who Work!
🤣🤣🤣 You ain’t lying 💪🏾🇺🇸 RAM
I love all 9 things about FORD……..but Who Work???
RAM 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Too funny. After all the videos showing how much better the Ford pulls… you clowns are still thinking Ram is 💪 over the Ford. You guys are like partisan democrats. You’ll never see how much better the other side is because your heads are buried too deep in the doodoo. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
First
Thanks bro 👍🏾
I love the Ford because it’s just better than anything else lol 😂 no comparison
I'll stick with my gmc Duramax
Bwahahah. Have you not noticed Chevy has been out of the running for like ten years now. Too funny.
