      I’m so glad it resonates. Sometimes when my mind is going a million miles an hour toward an idea, or similarly when I am thinking about 10 things all at once, and still browsing social to find more to think about - remembering this framing helps give me perspective and understanding.

      Yes man. I can't wait to show this video to my wife. I bet she's going to laugh at how true-to-life even the content of your reply is to mine. I've got like thirty tabs open right now, my moleskin notebook standing by for idea scribbles, and am going back through a couple of books for ideas on how to implement story structure in vlogs.
      That's something even on day three of posting videos that I am stoked about daily vlogs. It really does activate that Hunter side that can focus all that frantic energy. It really teaches you about yourself. Thanks again man.

    This hits the nail on the head. For people with ADHD attention works only in extremes. We can't control what we focus on, our brain decides that for us. It goes from attention being completely spread to hyper focus in the blink of an eye.

    I am not formally diagnosed with ADHD but I do conform to every tendencies that you described.
    Sometimes I really do hate myself; hence losing my essence in pits of despair whilst I see those farmers chipping away at their tasks; being productive.
    Never have I realised that I was born a hunter; precisely of which after watching your video I've realized a whole deeper part of myself.

    Hey brother! To be honest, I think I'm a farmer, but that doesn't mean that I won't succeed, but we all have different personality traits. I actually love to have a mission for the day and once I have done I feel good, but on other days I manage not to accomplish it, but I won't feel bad about myself, but just make the best out of it I guess :)
    Winny out...for now ;)

    • @RCodyWanner

    • @MindNow
      @MindNow Před 6 lety

      Cynthia Ryan somehow I like to keep a list of things that I have to do...even if I don't accomplish them all, but I at least did SOMETHING :) although, I gotta admit that sometimes I feel bad that I didn't and would ask myself questions like why didn't you wake up earlier? Sometimes I'm correct and sometimes I'm wrong, but if I had to boil it down to one thing...it's DOING and that's it.
      Winny out...for now ;)

Only recently I started doing more research into it thanks to your videos and am hoping this year to learn more about what makes me tick and find out if it's related to a form of adhd. 🤔⚡🦄🔥

      There is not form of ADHD without hyperactivity. The ADHD mind itself is hyperactive. It thinks fast and moves fast. It moves on fast too. But, you may not have external presentations of hyperactivity, but it could be internal for you.

    I figured out on my own that I had ADD back in 2005 while doing my mental health rotation in nursing school. It's also how I figured out that mt youngest daughter had ADHD and my oldest had ADD. Everything you said completely describes me. Noticing every detail, zeroing in with laser focus, relentless in your pursuit to figure things out. The way it was explained to me is that you have all this incoming stimuli (like you said taking in everything about the picture) but the synapses in your brain don't fire like they are supposed to, therefore they don't make a complete connection. Soon you become overwhelmed from taking in all this stimuli, but because you don't know which incoming stimuli to pay attention to you focus on something you want to do rather than what it's expected of you (like job, bills, and of course being on time). That's where the laser focus comes from though...somewhere in your brain that synapse fired, so that's where your focus goes and you end up tuning out all the rest of the incoming stimuli to focus on that one thing. I loved this video and your explanation of what our means for you. Thank you!

    Perspective is key and if it's possible to reframe and change your mindset about something (I understand it might not always be possible but that's worth exploring/trying) then it can help a lot ... Seeing things differently changes you over time.

    We are focused, but not on what people expect us to be focused on. Most of the times I appear to be “daydreaming” between periods of hyper focus, I am running the “last chase” through my mind, figuring out how it could have went better. Then I start to plan the next chase. I spend hours in my head planning my moves and imagining every possible action they may take before they made them. Only once I determine it will be a win, I pounce. (Let’s just say I don’t start arguments unless I already know I will win.)
