Thanks for talking on this topic! I still find your Pogo Stick and Bike video explaining the differences between ADHD and Neurodiverse still one of the best. Unfortunately I got shut down within the corporate that I was working for to highlight the difference during ADHD awareness Month. Thanks again and stay awesome!

100% need to be delusional. Just like the blind belief that 'yep, it'll end up working' even when there hasn't been any proof that it will eventually work. I had that early on with learning internet marketing, just like blind faith that i'd eventually figure it out. 6 years later, I did lol

18:05 - extraordinarily sad and depressing. My body and mind is shot from the stress of being overworked by a micro-manager who seemingly asked for ridiculous amounts of work in short timeframes. I'm still recovering after nearly 12 years of that relationship. Also, if health insurance was not tied to your job, I think I'd be a lot better off mentally. I'm tired of the carrot to get work done being that you will lose your job and benefits if you are struggling. Why does it have to be this way?

I’m concerned a lot of ADHD traits are more learned than inherent. I dislike when people try to use it as an excuse to ignore personal responsibility rather than using the awareness as a tool to understand yourself and approach the weaknesses from a different angle. You use it as a tool and I appreciate that! I’m definitely ADHD and I cannot express how relatable all of this is. How do you know me? 😆 Keep it up, Cody!

Here, we are light years behind in education. I have been a teacher for a little bit more than 20 years... and in my 20 years of teaching, not much have changed, sadly. ADHD kids/adults are creative, intelligent, and interesting. They can look at problems in different ways that "regular" people might not think about. School needs to take advantage of the differences of everyone. I live with two ADHD's. It is not always easy, but I try to embrace and focus on their forces instead of their wicknesses... not always easy, though! 😅 But this definitely needs to be talked more. Thanks for doing it.

It makes me so happy that more and more people are talking about adhd, especially people online that I grew up watching and inspired me, completely unknowingly that we both had adhd. I’ve just recently started my diagnosis journey and it’s incredible to me just how much information people are providing and how positive people are now becoming around this “stigma” of our childhoods

Retirement saving doesn’t give the dopamine boost for instant gratification that we thrive on. That’s why we find it difficult :)

Thabks for sharing. Very interesting...i don't think i have adhd but i relate to several things you said. I definitely get to a point of feeling trapped when I've worked at regular jobs, which is why i work for myself now! But also, working for yourself you have to do all those mundane tasks which gets really hard sometimes.

The way I relate to everything in this like 100% is crazy. I can’t wait to get tested because I feel like you’re describing my life to a T. I’m where you were at with Cap, just feeling like Im finally realizing that my ADHD is really working against me doing what I need to do to move forward.

Yeah man. 100% relate. Even applying this to the gym, I’ve never been “in shape” with 6 pack abs, and going to the gym feels pointless cause I’ve tried it so many times and failed, but I keep trying over and over again cause I believe one day I’ll figure it out. But in creative terms I think it’s even harder because we dont see as many consistent examples of people “doing it” as we do with exercise and weight loss, so it feels even more distant or less likely to happen

I can relate to so much of what you say Cody, I'm also a square peg in a world of round holes. Although I haven't been diagnosed with ADHD , I was diagnosed with ASD 18 months ago. I can get tested but I just haven't got around to it yet, I'm 57 so it's a lot to sink in. The diagnosis has helped me so much but I still have a whole life to unpack and reassess. I'm the same as you in front of the computer, I need to be out and about. I love recording the videos, it's sitting down for extended time editing that I struggle with.

Having moved from Lancaster, PA to Maine, we found that Maine’s education system was years behind PA in many ways. One area where Maine definitely gets it right is recess. State law requires kid’s to have one recess per day, so it can’t be taken away as a consequence, and, at my school where I worked as a behavioral specialist, we have 2 recesses per day. I can relate to so many of the experiences you’ve described and I think individuals sharing their neurodivergent experiences on social media, from the autism spectrum to ADHD, only helps everyone appreciate and understand understand these ways that our brains differ. Thanks for sharing Cody, I always appreciate your perspective!
