I started reading Dorohedoro when it was first released in my country years ago, but I dropped before it reached 10 volumes because (for me) the more the story progressed the more outlandishly ridiculous it became….personally I wouldn’t recommend it, but that’s just my opinion.
On the other side of spectrum, I’ve almost collected all available Kaiju no. 8 and Acid Town volumes (only one missing is Acid Town 3, which is coming tomorrow) - can’t wait to read them - and have been thinking about getting “Dangerous Convience-store” and “Deliquent Daddy and Tender Teacher”, but I’m not sure as there are other series that interest me a bit more (like “Chihiro-kun only has eyes for me” and especially “Matcha made in heaven”).
Ahhh yes I did hear a lot of great things about dorohedoro but never really had the urge to try it, I also heard it gets really crazy dark! I’m really enjoying acid town and really like delinquent daddy!! Totally recommend

I'm thinking of trying out Slam Dunk in the new year. I've only got 1 sports manga in my collection (Haikyuu) and I heard Slam Dunk was really good.

If I remember correctly from my German lessons in highschool, the a with two dots on the top makes an 'ey' sound, like in the word 'May' or 'Age'. So it's like May-r-shen, I think. I may be wrong, it's been over 15 years since I did German lol

@@lyddiemoon It's always hard to explain how to pronounce letters with umlauts to non-german people, especially english speakers since you pronounce the letters differently compared to the german way. 😅 Basically, "Meh-r-chen" could be one way to say it. and just as info, märchen translate to fairy tale ;D
Oh your closest Forbidden Planet is also my closest one!! I'm actually headed there this week and I can't wait! Been a while since I've been and I love it there! It looks like it has a lot I'm interested in too so that's good lol! I keep seeing The Dangerous Convenience Store so I think I'll grab that if it's still there!
Omggg thats soo cool!! Its a small but nice store that do stock some good some nice additions! I also like that it never gets super busy like the london one haha! Definitely get the Dangerous Convenience Store, it really enjoyable 🤩
@@lyddiemoon I used to go to university there (not the posh one lol) and it was in easy walking distance so I spent a LOT of money there haha! It is a nice little store and I always find something to come away with lol! I love the one in London but it can get hellishly busy! Our local one is just so lovely for a leisurely browse...before they take all my money haha!
I also picked up Lonely Castle in the Mirror and have read it already. I'm enjoying it and am still intrigued as to where the story intends to go. It's also not gonna be a huge investment since its only gonna be 5 volumes total.
You also asked about Dorohedoro. I freakin' 💜 that series. It's in my top 5 favorite series of all time.....and honestly, I don't think you'll like it lol. It's a comedy horror, wherein the comedy is derived from extreme, over-the-top gore. It's edgy but it's self aware that it's edgy and so it leans in on that aspect as far as it can go, to sort of humorize how ridiculously gore filled edgy it is. Sooooo , Ive got a feeling that this series isnt in your taste. Probably best to skip that one
