This video, and all of the reaction videos on this channel, transform the original material from entertainment into a commentary, educational and/or opinion expressing video. The original content that is “reacted” to is analyzed by professional commentators and podcasters, who use the performance to highlight instrumental technique and further discuss song structure etc. In addition, musical theory and style choices are also often analyzed and discussed.
While the video does use the entire song (as things such as instrumental performance and song structure must also be considered), there are many pauses. In addition, often the parts of the original content are played multiple times to examine a particular element of the song being reacted to. During pauses, reactors go into detail on the emotions that are invoked by the song or content, and why or why not they are good, or if they’re particularly difficult. The pauses often last a long time, so much so that this video cannot be considered a replacement for the original material. A link to the original video is always placed in the about section, and viewers are encouraged to watch it without pauses and commentary.

This post is meant specifically for Lovebites fans because of a trolling problem we have. However, Nemo fans are welcome to read this summary because this is the SAME troll that used several of his trolling accounts to masquerade as Lovebites fans to attack a nemo premier recently. In this reaction, he pretends to be a nemo "fan" with this specific trolling account (I shall just highlight the first 2 characters "@in..."). Note again, ALL the accounts are from the SAME troll.
Lovebites fans, the SAME troll that we know of is now in this comments section. No prizes for guessing who it is. Here is a quick current summary of this troll who possesses multiple trolling YT accounts (for those who are already familiar with this summary post, my latest update is in point (7) below) :
    (1) He has so far been banned/blocked from 17 other reaction channels and counting for persistent trolling.
    (2) He went to the LIVE premiers of both "M.D.O." and "We the United" to post horrible and libelous comments in the LIVE chat about the band. For example, he accused Asami of being an alcoholic.
    (3) He has created AT LEAST 10 fake Lovebites accounts and used those accounts to post terrible comments in other bands' reactions/LIVE premiers while masquerading as "genuine Lovebites fans". His perverted goal is to create tension between the different fan communities.
    (4) This SAME vile troll has created another (AT LEAST) 5 new fake Lovebites accounts recently and used those accounts to attack a Nemophila MV release "in the name of Lovebites". Again, this is designed to sow discord amongst the fanbases.
    (5) He has created AT LEAST 3 fake BabyMetal accounts (2 of them not new to us) and posting "nice/positive" comments in their reactions so that he can claim that these accounts are "genuine BabyMetal fans", and then eventually use them to attack Lovebites or other bands' reactions/LIVE premiers. Again, the purpose of this vile troll is to create conflict between the different fanbases.
    (6) Also recently, he even went to a Blackpink reaction using AT LEAST 3 fake Lovebites accounts to post his despicable nonsense. Again, the purpose is to create conflict between the fanbases of different bands/groups.
    (7) This despicable troll is also trying to infiltrate the Wolfpack with some "new" trolling accounts that were created between 2020-2023, and some even older than 2020. I believe these "new" trolling accounts are meant to sow discord WITHIN the Lovebites community. Here are some of the reasons why :
    (a) So far, these accounts have only posted a few "positive" comments here and there, so we should just let them be. But please be alert for any attitude/behavioral changes.
    (b) Also, I have noticed some of these "new" trolling accounts that have been posting "positive" comments so far, have started to attack the reactors themselves, making the Wolfpack look bad in the eyes of the reactors. So watch out for this trolling tactic as well.
    (c) Some of these "new" trolling accounts will eventually play "good cop"/"bad cop" and they'll "converse" among themselves to attempt to create further deception and chaos. For example, some will pretend to be "pro-Lovebites" or "pro-reactor", and others will pretend to be "anti-Lovebites" or "anti-reactor". This vile troll has tried to do something similar before, so be alert for this.
    (i) One trolling permutation which has happened quite a lot recently is - the anti-Lovebites trolling YT accounts ("bad cops") will attack the reactors if the reaction is favorable to Lovebites, and they will praise the reactors if the reaction is not favaroble to Lovebites. The reverse is true for the pro-Lovebites trolling YT accounts ("good cops"). So reactors, please be aware of this happening in the comments sections of your reactions. Again, no prizes for guessing who the "bad cop" is in this comments section.
    (d) This malicious troll will also use these "new" accounts to cause confusion and chaos by attempting to incriminate genuine Lovebites fans as "trolls". He has already tried this before, so also be aware of this and be on your guard.
    (8) Will update the communities and the reactors when there is new info available.

This band-vs-band stuff smells like clickbait. Obviously it worked. Three of Nemophila's members saw Lovebites' recent tour finale. The two bands' members have crossed paths in the past. Saki's previous band Mary's Blood shared the bill at club gigs with Miyako's previous Drop of Joker, Midori's previous Gekijo Metalicche, and Haruna's previous Destrose (I saw some of those shows live). Tamu's previous Soramimi played some shows on the bill with Haruna's Destrose. Hazuki's previous Disqualia were on the same bill at Lovebites' first live show (under that name) Nov. 2016 and a couple times in 2017 too. There are more examples.

      I found this common contact:
Once upon a time, Saki and mi-ya (now Myako) almost played in one band together (an encore band composed of members of several bands playing at that concert). Saki played there with Re:MAKER, mi-ya with GoDeath. At the end, a band was assembled from musicians from different bands and they played an encore. From GoDeath they took mi-ya, and from Re:MAKER they took bassist Finn (a fantastic bassist) and a supporting vocalist (or vocalists). Or maybe they met at another concert?

@@musicaconqueror5477 I think Re:MAKER and GoDeath played two or three shows on the same bill, but if you're talking about one of the "women's bands" shows in March 2012, I saw those shows. It was the procedure to do a jam session at the end of the participating bands' sets, and each band would contribute a member or two and, yes, Fin played for Re:MAKER and mi-ya for GoDeath, the other guitarist was Erika from Yuka Mizukoshi's backing band. Several days later Destrose, with Miho and Haruna, and GoDeath, with mi-ya, were on the same bill-which is an example of the Lovebites' members meeting in pre-history-though Miho, Haruna,, and mi-ya didn't play in the jam.

Nemophila sounds more modern because they play and sound like trending metalcore bands though they tend to dissociate themselves from that lately (they're still experimenting. Last album is all over the place if you ask me). Just listen to one of their most famous song Oiran. Rythmics and dynamics are pretty close to BMTH's song Shadow Moses.
Also the fact that almost each member has its own hm/hr background is what makes Nemophila unique : Vocal Mayu is a hard rock Foo Fighter fan, guitarist Hazuki is a melo death metal Arch Enemy addict, guitarist Saki is a glam rock Sekishima II devout, bassist Haraguchi-san is a nu metal Slipknot maggot and drummer Tamu is a prog metal Dream Theater zealot.
On the other side, we have Lovebites and they play heavy metal in the purest form, at least for the non power metal parts because yes, they also play powerish songs. Their main power metal influence comes from legendary band Helloween, father of the modern power metal scene and Angra with famous singer Lucas Turili (Rhapsody of Fire) but I highly suspect they were also heavily influenced by 2010s power metal bands like Powerwolf or Sabaton because they tend to have that freaking and similar Deus Vult vibe. Because yes, their most famous song, Holy War, is a Deus Vult song! For the non initiated, a Deus Vult song is like being a holy crusader going into war against infidels, demons or Hell itself with the mighty trumpets of Heaven glorifying your epic charge.
Power metal aside, Lovebites is also a weird broth with RnB diva turned vocal rockstar Asami, guitarist and self learner Midori who has Children of Bodom in her top 5, guitarist and classical music trained Miyako who worships both Kirk Hammett and Gary Moore then lastly drummer Haruna and metalhead bassist Miho who both come from visual kei background as they were in the same band.
Lovebites is mainly a love letter to both thrash and nwobhm metal scene before anything else as they are known for being speedy as fuck, also being a driving band with literally only one single ballad in all their discography (And no, Edge of the world and Frozen serenade are too much prog metal to be called ballads. Let's not even mention Swan song which is speed metal as fuck).
Imo, I think that Nemophila has a better roster as I consider Murata Tamu the current best japanese female metal drummer (she basically has Haruna's footwork lvl + Junna's dexterity and creativity) and Saki as the current best female japanese metal guitarist (i must admit Asterism's guitarist Hal-ca is scary though as the new hope and rising star). Add vocalist Mayu whose voice is a one of its kind and you have an explosive band.
Lovebites though, i must admit, has better songs and that alone makes Lovebites ouclassing Nemophila (Nemophila's songs are great but most of them are just too simplistic and that doesn't make their banmates' talent truly shine unfortunately. Aside from Adabana, Tamu's drumming skills are barely noticeable if you ask me). Indeed, Miyako is a monster at music composition and Miho's sole existence is what made Lovebites one of the current best thrash metal bands out there (Miho wrote all thrashy songs before leaving Lovebites. Hammer of wrath, Break the wall, Thunder vengeance, Set the world on fire... You name it, she did it). Let Asami sings with them and you just have the current best japanese female metal band because her voice. Her fucking voice. If Mayu has a great voice, Asami is a living muse, period (she basically has better vocal training, better stamina, better vocal technique and she's fucking belting when she sings).

He makes no proper comparisons; no attempt to weigh in on how Miyako’s ability to compose music herself (like Solider Stands Solitarily and Dystopia Symphony) goes along with her ability to play both piano and guitar well. He would also need to account for the combined force of Midori and Miyako together (as the guitarists, harmonizing). But hey, he praises Lovebites for once having Miho (funny), who contributed to songs like Thunder Vengeance, which Mao also helped compose BTW (Miho cannot do it on her own), while Miyako helped on Break the Wall. As for the arrangements? Mao and Miyako again. If he likes Miho so much, why not blame Mao for MDO? As he helped with that as well, and it is one of their worst songs. As for him crediting Miho for Set the World on Fire. Just huh?

I found and followed Lovebites before Nemophila, which makes sense as they are older as a band. The musicians are of similar age and actually friends. Regardless of either band, once you reach this level of talent, there is no winner, or looser. I absolutely adore both bands. So how is it even possible for me to compare the two? Well it comes down to preference in musical genres and diversity. Based solely on that aspect, I would give a razors edge to Nemophila. However, Miyako is actually my favorite musician, so again difficult. Love both, bands, but it’s Nemophila for me.

Nemophila is a great band, but lovebites is on another level, it is almost metal perfection, and Asami doesn't need growl or scream, although on some occasions she makes small touches of them, many say that she is the female version of Bruce Dickinson. Mayu is a great vocalist and I think that if she is not the best at screaming, she must be among the best in the world.

I became acquainted with the work of LoveBites and Nemophila at about the same time, a few months ago.T My sympathies between these two bands are in the ratio of = 90% (LoveBites) : 10% (Nemophila). I believe that LoveBites is a phenomenon in the world of heavy music! The individual talent, technical skills and professionalism of all band members are at the highest level! These are all complemented by excellent lyrics and great melodies ( the songs) that LoveBites create! Brunette-guitarist Miyako, who wrote approximately 50% of all LoveBites' music, is one of the best composers of our time. Nowadays, it is not enough for musicians to have only excellent individual technique. In order for a band to create something outstanding, it is necessary that the excellent techniques, professional skills and abilities of each band member be harmoniously combined with each other and complement each other. Then what is called the “synergy effect” occurs. The individual qualities of each band member are combined together and are transformed into the collective result of the band. LoveBites was able to achieve some stunning results. The studio albums, EPs, MVs, Blue-rays of LoveBites' live shows are great. In fact, today we have a unique band that stands out from the many excellent Japanese metal bands with its sound, its music, and its professionalism! LoveBites is the best Japanese band in the genre of heavy music (hard & heavy) today. LoveBites is one of the best heavy bands in the world! This my opinion. And the world of heavy music (primarily Europe and America) in the next 2- 3 years will have to admit it! That's why I give my vote for LoveBites!

I'll clarify and compare it to Mary's Blood (MB was much closer to LB).
Miyako wrote more about 42%. Mao has been involved in composing their materials from the very beginning (he co-composed 45% and composed 13% solo). LB - 61 pieces, 25.5 Miyako, 8 Mao, 27.5 Mao + (usually Miho).
Mary's Blood: 77 pieces. Saki - 51% (39.5 pieces). The remaining 49% is the rest of the band (mostly Eye). And Mao? He showed up too! He played keyboards (he played brilliantly) in Black ★ Cat (first album). MB did not use external composers. I admire and like Miyako a lot (even more than Lovebites), but (along with Kanami) they are in second place. Saki is the empress.

Depends on the criteria you’re using, and whether you are implying that they are more varied than Nemophila, which would be a ridiculous comment to make. As for my perspective, I would say that Lovebites doesn’t just have a perceived lack of deviation from the continuous uptempo drumming on the Judgement Day album, but also didn’t have anything quite like A Frozen Serenade on that album. Although Soldier Stands Solitarily is my favorite Lovebites song, I do have issues with the Judgement Day album as a whole. I also think you would do better to say that Lovebites is varied enough for you, rather than saying it’s more varied than Nemophila. I mean Lovebites can likely win in many categories, but that is not one I would give.

This was a kind of fun format. And you obviously do not take the points all that seriously. And Nemophila won! Yeah, Adabana is a very good song. And that music video is top notch. Adabana is one of those songs that do grow on me. As your analysis shows, it is quite complex and has several very cool parts and transitions. It is definitely prog. So, I started with thinking it was kind of cute and nice and now, after listening to it some times, it is actually one of my favorites. One that you do not get tired of.

It's hard to compare the 2 in anyway since they really sound so different. Nemo made one hell of a song that really sounds good and i listened to it a lot when they released it. I probably listened to more Nemo during march 2022 - may 2022, but after that I shifted more and more to Lovebites as they became my main band and stayed there prominently since then. As hard as it is to vote against Nemophila, I had to pick #Lovebites.

They are both great bands and I'm a fan of them both, but LOVEBITES slightly superior musicianship makes them my #1. I'll also add that LOVEBITES have about 60 original songs, some of which are legitimate masterpieces. I think two or three of their songs would not look out of place on a list of the best 100 metal songs ever written. Nemophila have far fewer original songs (they have been mostly a cover band), and even though they have some really good songs, in my opinion they don't have even a single song that could reasonably be called a masterpiece.
But let me repeat, they are both great bands and I'm a fan of the both.

It would be more correct to call what is happening a competition of songs rather than bands. But comparing Lovebites with Nemophila in a broader aspect also makes sense. I pay tribute to the technical skills of the Nemophila participants, but I think Lovebites wins in all possible positions. Lovebites' music is refined neoclassical metal, it does not have the pop elements that are present in Nemophila's music. Just as Band-Maid is a pop rock band, so Nemophila is a pop metal band.
About diversity. In my opinion, Lovebites perform music as diverse as possible. They are one of those rare bands that you can listen to endlessly without feeling an urgent need to listen to anything else. If any band from Japan becomes a legendary world band, it will be Lovebites. Moreover, I think they have already become such a group. Widespread acceptance of this is just a matter of time.
Even the story of the creation of Lovebites is a classic story of the creation of a band from below, by the musicians themselves, who write music, lyrics and make arrangements themselves. Lovebites is a real metal band by all criteria. Their success is entirely due to these wonderful women.

I am a fan of both Lovebites and Nemophila. I have seen Nemophila live and they put on a fantastic show. I will be seeing Lovebites live in September at their US debut in Atlanta. I think Mayu of Nemophila is the better all around rock/metal vocalist because her natural raspy voice and her harsh vocals. Asami, however, is the perfect voice for the old school metal that Lovebites plays. I was in my 20s during the 1980's and my favorite all-time metal band is Iron Maiden (who I will also be seeing live later this year), so I really enjoy the Lovebites style of music. As far as musicianship, I think the drummers, Haruna and Tamu, are about even. I also think that Midori and Miyako of Lovebites are two of the best guitarists in the world and I am not sure any two guitarists in the world can touch them when it comes to harmonizing. Hazuki and Saki are great guitarists but not at that rarified level. Fami is a better bassist than Haraguchi, but Haraguchi is the best composer in Nemophila, so I consider the bassists to be even. My biggest disappointment with Nemophila is that they still do not compose most of their music. I am not sure how much creative control the members of Nemophila actually have. Lovebites, on the other hand, seem to have full creative control, especially Miyako who, with just a few exceptions, composes alone. She is also a generational talent, both in her musicianship (guitar and piano) and her songwriting. Lovebites is the best band in this "competition" and I wish they were meeting Nemophila in the final, because that is where they both belong.

About Mayu's voice. I've said this all along but you could really tell when Nemophila was covering the heavier bands (Pantera, Metallica etc.) That even though Mayu can scream and has rasp for days, she has no power in her voice, it's really thin sounding. I never expected her to sound like Phil or Het but I also didn't expect her to sound like a little kid trying to sing either.

@@guitarzen5999 I totally disagree. I doubt there are many female vocalists that could get close to the grit of Phil Anselmo but Mayu did a helluva job because of her natural grit. Does she have the power of Asami? No, because Asami is a world-class belter but, at the same time, Asami does not have the voice to pull off a Pantera song like Walk. As far as Master of Puppets, Hetfield's vocals are the least impressive thing about that song. Mayu sounded like Mayu which means she sounded damn good. Mayu sounds like a woman with one of the best female rock rasps in the business. Claiming she sounds "like a little kid trying to sing" is just plain BS.

If one cannot, it is clearly wrong to say that is merely a subjective evaluation. I think if you went into these comparisons and did live vs live with less subjectively, like by rating technical or singing proficiency, and you had the understanding to do so, it is clearly not the same thing as what you do here. For what you do here, is far more emotional by comparison. I do think Lovebites should focus more on catchy choruses, and trying to win people over in a more emotional way too, and perhaps they lack a bit in that area.
