  • So the following Kenwood series of receivers are what got me into collecting vintage audio:
    KR-V106R 100WPC
    KR-V107R 100WPC
    KR-V126R 130WPC
    KR-V127R 130WPC
It was the beginning of Covid and I was fascinated by the Vacuum Flourescent Displays. I purchased one and found that it was easy to clean out and work on, so I purchased a second one very cheap which was not powering on. And I soldered a bad voltage regulator and fixed it.
So then I bought a third one. Same exact issue and repair. Then I bought two more totaling 5 with various minor issues.
Only 3 remain today in my collection.
I re-biased them tonight. They were not significantly off, but all were low. Now they are performing at intended specification.
Here is a video of tonight’s activity. I wish my production was a little better.
    Have a great weekend!

My KR-V127R doesn’t get hot for some reason. My latest amp is a Yamaha AX-596 and the Kenwood still produces better sound. I’ve had no issues fortunately.
