  • I've been interested in learning more about both sides of my culture heritage, so I decided to learn about the most common religion in Japan - Buddhism

I think you made a good summary. Do you speak Japanese? Have you been to Mount Koya that appears in the video? :)

Dude, thank you! You know, I learned a bit of Japanese in highschool and college but I didn't practice it after that. Instead, I started practicing Spanish because there were a lot of Spanish-speaking customers that came into my work (Best Buy). It's interesting. I took years of Japanese and barely know any; only took one semester of Spanish in community college but had more real-world practice and I know waaay more Spanish now.
No, I haven't been to that mountain. I am thinking of going to Japan next year. Maybe I will visit it. Have you been? I think I will also get back into some Japanese learning.

@@mindful_wander Honestly, Japanese is super hard. For English speakers, it is at the highest level of difficulty (level 5), while Spanish is at 1 😳. I've been learning Japanese on and off for years and there's no comparison. Even though the grammar itself is pretty simple, the way the language works is just so different from any Western language...
I've been to Mount Koya and slept in one of the temples :). That's the typical thing to do, but there's a reason for it - I enjoyed the experience.

Christianity and Buddhism have things in common, there's theories that Jesus spent some time in India and learned about Buddhism.

That’s interesting. I sometimes wonder if all the major religions are connected in ways we wouldn’t expect
