- Up close with Qantas' brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner taking off from Melbourne Airport! Currently Qantas have 3 of these in the fleet with the 4th, which wears the new aboriginal flying art design, due to fly to Australia next month. As it stands, the 787s are flying between Perth, Los Angeles and Melbourne which makes it special to see in the short term due to its exclusivity.
There's no better way to show off what Qantas' investment then getting right up close to it from Melbourne's most popular close up spot!

I still can't get over how quiet the Dreamliner is on takeoff. I remember seeing the 787-8 test aircraft at Oshkosh. Everyone was amazed by how quiet it was when they were on takeoff.

They do, the 787-10. It's longer by 18 feet.
The first time I saw a 787 takeoff I was absolutely amazed at how the wings flexed. An absolutely beautiful plane, a real credit to Boeing

to stop the classic airbus vs boeing fight, a350 is not a competitor to 787. 787 is competing against a330 neo.
Johnny Cunningham correct. The 777 series would be a far more accurate competitor. I think the argument is silly. I don’t have any particular love for Boeing or Airbus though. I was a MD and Lockheed fan

They don't number them based on size but rather for marketing purposes
They go (almost, 717 excluded) in order of release, not size
