When it comes to rotarys allways allways prime the pump before you start..2stroke mix in the fuel as the seals need to be somewhat lubed..by the way you have a very very awsome rx7 one of my dream rx7s
Thanks man! I appreciate that! I’ll have more this upcoming week. Kinda like a bonus since it should technically be 2 vids but I’m not about that. A lot of editing..
Thanks man! Apparently these motors are super reliable. It’s really like any other car I’ve dealt with as far as getting it running. If you still have the opportunity or another arises go for it.
Agreed! For instance, I felt like it didn’t sound quite right especially editing the video. Eventually we discovered a fueling issue as well as weak spark. Apparently these J105 igniters are problematic so we have a fix for that. Ryan mentioned something about converting to premix and not trusting the old setup. So that’s something we’ll definitely look into.
Im sure you've done a little bit of research since posting this, but i suggest next video you'll want to throw some 2 stroke mix into the gas to really keep it healthy +its been sitting so long i doubt the apex seals are really lubed up the best
We did before starting it actually as well as the rotor housing? Hence all the smoke on the initial start up. As I type this we finally got it running on both rotors.
Ok! There’s more coming for this bad boy. It’s not running 100% as you can tell but it’s definitely a start!
I’m watching rx7 startups to get motivated to try to get my 1982 rx7 running
That’s what we did when we initially got this one. Get it going man! I’m keeping my eyes peeled for another actually so we can have two.
Interesting to see where this goes

Definitely gonna follow this project since i have one myself. might get some motivation to actually work on mine
Do it! We’re still working out some kinks til we can get to the fun stuff. Probably the reason why it was parked too
sounds like its running on one rotor
Diggin the vibe man. Stoked to see more
Heck yea! Thanks man! I’ll have more coming soon
Awesome vid man. Would like to see more on this.🔥

@@ShadeTreeBuilt09 sure man👍🏼👍🏼
There is a lot to learn about rotary's. I think most real drivers convert it to run on just premix
