Yeah, learn to pronounce it incorrectly first time round so you have to relearn in order to speak correctly. “Koreans will understand it” is NOT good advice.

@@UkOutreachyes it is…. I’ve met many Americans who don’t pronounce Spanish words flawlessly but you understand and that’s ok. You don’t have to speak perfectly it’s ok to start learning and then after develop the accent and pronounciatians. The point of learning a language is so to talk to others and understand it so as long as they understand what your saying there is nothing wrong with it.

@@UkOutreach imagine living in europe when you have tourist everywhere, in France you can hear, like for example, at a castle last time, we had One german couple, 4 chinese girls, and 1 portuguese with his italian girlfriend, and they were all speaking in French, i understood everything, even with the accent, i didn't do like some people from Paris do like, "no it's pronounce that way" or talk to them in english, because i understood, One of the Chinese girls tho asked me if she was understandable, and i helped her with the pronounciation of the NAME of the Castle. She was so happy, so as i !
So yeah 'Koreans will understand it" is a good Advice, because if the pronounciation is CLOSE enough, you understand. And sometimes it's ok to do the effort, and not being disrespectful to the learners
On the other way, in chinese, it will not work :s

You cannot expect a first time learner to pronounce something perfectly. I understand what you're trying to say, but its still nice to get some encouragement as a first time learner. and all the fine tuning can come later when you have a better understanding of the language, at the beginning mistakes are inevitable.

Wow this is one of the best explanations I have ever seen. I've been having a lot of trouble with the exceptions, but no one had ever explained it to me like this. It's so much easier to understand this way! Thank you!

Hello! New subscriber here. Basically I learn the hanguel when pandemic started but forget them after I got a job and currently learning Japanese for job purpose and now I'm back to Korean again, so I hope I can learn more on your channel. Arigatou in advance.

i've never seen the instructions laid out in this way before - it's very clever and helpful - also - waiting until the end of expose most of the exceptions works well too - while it's nice to apologize for the exceptions - as you know having learned to read & write english - about half the spelling in english are exceptions

Memorize these alphabets and pronunciations to heart! The exceptions in the second half can be a bit confusing but definitely try and get the first half to heart first. Then reading and writing and saying it will be so much easier as you progress! Well done video!

I don't speak a single word of Korean, but I had always heard that its writing system was one of the most logical. Look at this, she explained it in a little more than ten minutes! Now, to explain the seven thousand different degrees of formality...
