In this video, you will see my reaction to Troye Sivan's newest music video: "One Of Your Girls". I had never heard the song before watching the video, and I didn't know details about the lyrics beforehand. I was shocked to say the least. This single comes from his third studio album: Something To Give Each Other.

    1) no I don't think this was the real meaning of the song. 2) there are man who define straight but have relationship with men (just sex) and this is not want to make someone "change" themselves, he say "I can come from you and do it and i can be one of your girls" but that's why he say I can be one of your girls...

Sorry about the people upset at you and being mean about not getting the theme of the song. Inside the lgbt community it's very clear and easy to get because it's something we usually go through, fall in love with a straight guy, and then some times some of them will even use you for convenience and pleasure but then just discard you. It's not an experience that those outside the community usually go through so your mind will try to understand it and make things fit. The closest thing a straight or sometimes even lesbian woman would understand, would be like a guy who will mess around with you, give you attention when he wants to do something, but never actually make it official or want to date you. So that version of the song would go something like, "Give me a call if you ever get lonely, I'll be the girl you want, or something... Give me a call if you ever get desperate, I'll be one of your girls".

I appreciate your comment. I understand more and more the feeling behind this song. It’s one of my favorite songs from Troye now.

@@brittanywithlove It's a sad song, and it hits us deep. Unfortunately there's a string of people who went reaction to reaction and anyone who didn't get it 100% they just piled on. The men in the beginning is sort of meant to show us that no matter what type of gay man you are, you still go through it, the big tough type, the bear, the twink, black, white, Asian, and all those identities we have just go out the window trying to be what they want us to be in order to be with them. You can tell the "straight guy", Ross, doesn't actually do anything or move towards, even just sits back, gives no effort.
And why Troy at the end is crying. He's not even the same person anymore, no more smiling, but he's still trying.
And those guys will be the first to be phobes, or vote against our rights, or speak out against us, but we keep lying to ourselves that maybe. Somehow.
Again the lateral for a straight woman would be the guy who does all that, cheats on you with several, and then later is there up in church praying, or speaking out about women with no morals, or even marries someone and calls himself a traditional family man despite all he's done. It's like the "gone girl" "cool girl" monologue. Where women will try to fit that "cool girl" persona, and drink beer, eat pizza, hunt, shoot and be that "cool girl" to be with a guy who gives no effort and nothing back and both those women and us gay men struggle to realize we're in love with what we could be, and what we want it to be, and not what it actually is.
I appreciate the allyship, and it's clear that you're a friend to our community, and you do not deserve the ire in the comments. And you ARE right too, despite the message he made with it one can interpret it into several different messages that draw the same type of toxic feeling. Music is not so one dimensional that anyone can ever say "this is it".

I love that you took the time to break that down for me. I knew the tone of song was sad, but what you’re telling me makes it soooo much sadder. It sucks that anyone has to go through that situation. Some people aren’t worth your time and effort, and even if we live a long time, none of it was worth spending on people who don’t truly care about you. I hope I am true ally, I try to be at least 🌈💝

You are wrong. Your interpretation is common. That is about it. Life is way more complex than most people think. Especially about things they do not know.

@@brittanywithlove Your opinion is valid. I just am not 100% on board with your conclusions. I saw the whole video. It was fine. We just disagree about somethings. Not that big a deal. Have a great Holiday Season.

you definitely miss the point. lmao. this song talk about a gay man who fell in love for a straight man... so for this obviosly he say:" i'll be like one of your girls or your homies" lmao, what do you find so confusing about this lyrics?? i think he is very direct in what he is saying or he is talking about. btw he himself explain the meaning of the song in some interviews.
