  • This is just a little demo of our Oxalic Acid Vaporizer (OAV) demo. My goal is to share my product with everyone while showing how easy it can be for a new or seasoned beekeeper to keep their hives healthy and mite free. As for the size of the hole, you would need a 5mm or 6mm drill bit to have a tighter fit for the vaporizer on the hive. I say 1/4" because it works and is common for people though not totally ideal. If you all have any suggestions please leave it in the comments.
    This hive had no bees as my hives have all been treated enough this season., this was just for demonstration purposes.

    About Lorob Bees. "I started everything to do my part with the family gardening, my mom would always work so hard to get the black berry bushes completed without much return. For years people told us to put all of these chemicals on the bushes. One day i realized that it was poor pollination!! That season (2019) I purchased my first bee hive, from there i was hooked! I began to enjoy experimenting and teaching others about honey bees to try to encourage more people to take up beekeeping. The videos that i will be posting pretty regularly will basically be my day to day working in my hives so my customers and supporters can see the behind the scenes. Thanks for your support.. YOU are AMAZING!

    I used mine for first time today. Love it so far...a real time saver compared to the wand. After watching your video again I realized that I don't need to let it cool down between applications. One small issue I had on one application was that the vaporizer didn't burn all of the OA off and I had to burn that dose a second time. I'm thinking I must have not given it enough burn time. Also, on a few applications the rubber cap blew partially off and some of the vapor escaped. Maybe the caps need to be used a few times before getting the perfect fit.

    I Love this vaporizer. Used it this year and this works like a champ. I did get an email for a review but the page did not work so you guys need to get a better coder. Worth the money and it's NOT 500 bucks! You guys did a great job on this but I would put a thicker handle on it...something round. After a 100 hives flat handle is not great.

    What parameters do you look for in the winter to treat with the vaporizer? 50 deg F daytime? Any concerns with it going below freezing the night after?

    Got mine in today. It looks like a solid unit and very well built. Plugged it in and it started heating up nicely. Now I have to wait for some warm temps outside and give her a try. Very tightly packaged and well taped. That is some tough tape you used. I hope it is around for many years.

    Any problem with using the vaporizer in hot temps? It’s currently in the 90s where live. Do I need to wait for it to be cooler before treating my hives?

    I got mine this weekend...love it! Is there any preferred method for better results with a solid vs screened bottom boards? It seemed from my one time experience on my 15 hives that I was losing more through the screened bottom board. Should I have closed the bottom off?

    • @LorobBees
      @LorobBees  Před rokem +1

      Yes, you should block them off. You want the acid to be trapped inside of the hives.

    I'm planning to use a 12 volt inverter to power your smoker unit. I know your device rated at 110 volts 380 watts. How many watts should my inverter be rated for? PS I really like what you are doing!

    so are you waiting until temps get to 450 on the gauge??

    • @LorobBees
      @LorobBees  Před 3 lety

      I keep mine set to 400 as a set temp. During treatments it overshoots to about 450. Once it passes 400 the treatment is completed and you can start your next hive. Sub lamination happens at about 350degrees.

      @@natserog yes though I just put water it it. Kick it on until boil and dump. That’s my personal way. Any kid of scrubbing and stuff to remove the residual will work just fine.
