I’m trying to buy a new ram 3500 and the dealer is 350 miles away. My local dealers are all sold out. The sales person couldn’t tell me the difference between a limited and a Laramie. Thanks you did a great job.

I’ve/We’ve always been Laramie in 2500 & 3500, I’ve never checked the Longhorn out before because I thought the Laramie was the best but after seeing ur review I’am without a doubt In Love with the Longhorn! Another great video JB. I have a 2020, 2500 Limited Turbo Diesel. 3.73 axle ratio; Ventilated front seats; Level 1 equipment group; towing prep group; no Ram box or power deployed running boards; it’s loaded, but expensive $82,000 out the door! Love the ride and luxury!!

Fantastic review. I’m 100% long horn all the way. That interior, my god was awesome with the wood and the brown/tan leather. The options and heavy Diesel engine just destroyed the payload on that HD truck. Hell, I’ve seen some f-150s with better payload. Also for those prices I’d get the 3500, same price more truck... also you can keep the single wheel if that’s your cuppa. I need to see how the Ford vinyl interiors are. For me personally for the price of under 70k which is the budget I put on myself the f450 stx or the xlt.... but I could just squeak by with a 5500 ram with a chassis cab for 70k and get a flatbed for 5-6k from this company I’ve been researching that makes custom flatbeds for truck campers... truck beds are made by CM, they seem to have a good product.
Good stuff, I agree that if you plan on towing a camper, go 3500 becasuse payload will get exceeded once you hook up a fifth wheel.
If you just plan on towing a 10000# trailer, this truck should be fine so long as you don’t add a bunch of gear to the bed 👍🏾
I went and sat in both the ford and dodge and found that the ford seats are not as comfortable as the dodge seats….also something else to consider…trucks have ratings for weights but they can tow much higher weights that are listed….depending on what or how you tow …will determine weights….for ie….these trucks can tow 20,000 lbs…..with ease….i think we get hung up on sticker weights….but once you jump off the 3500 mark then things change significantly……

Great job as always. As you know I am on and off again in the market for a Laramie-Limited and I find all the options overwhelming. I mean a bit towards that Longhorn Limited for that beautiful wood.
What I’d like to see JB is a deep dive into the regular screen and the 12” screen. What do you gain or lose??? I just turned 60 and retired to this is a present to myself and I want to get it right as I doubt there’ll be many more of these in my future (still want my ‘97 Cummins club cab sport long bed back)!
Haha, I have been lurking on some 5.9 Cummins but man people are trying to make all the money... I will put that down as a video to do but honestly the 8.4 would be perfect.the bigger screens are really just hype and look cool but I will break them down 👍🏾

Nice video. I like these trim comparisons. Looks like Ram does very similar to GM in that the higher trim isn’t necessarily a lot more than the lower trim do to how dealers option the trucks.
Out of those two I’d pick neither though and go with the same one you said, the white night package lol, preferably in one of the red colors though. I do like the cowboy theme of the longhorn but I think I’d still rather just have the Laramie.

Don’t surprise me. They are selling in my area sometimes before they even get to the dealer. And if they do make it as dealer stock they last about a week.
These prices make me appreciate my 2004 3500, Cummins, fleetside Ram... I just keep it cared for, 277k mileage, and no lag when I step into it. My daily driver, and pulls a six horse trailer. I added air bags, and it's been chipped. Lots more gadgets on these, but....no payments, no DEF, and I have lots of offers to buy it should I ever decide to sell, lol...

I will say that the blue interior option and wood trim on the limited is absolutely stunning. But Im really not a fan if leather seats. I dont find them to be as comfortable as a cloth seats. My 09 ram has premium cloth seats and my moms 16 ram has leather and i much prefer mine (just my preference tho, im sure many will disagree). I’d probably go with a big horn at the end of the day. Save money and get cloth seats. There are a few features on the laramie and higher trims not available from the factory that id like tho, such as the optional wireless charger and fender flares. I could probably just add those later myself. I just cant get over the price these days. Gonna have to keep mine going for a few more years and keep dreaming lol. Until then i’ll just live curiously through youtube videos of these gorgeous trucks. 😂
Thanks for sharing, I consider the Bighorn seats more comfortable than the leather seats. The Leather seats seem to be a lot firmer in comparison 👍🏾

Great video and info nice trucks a little to loaded for me the one thing I hate is not getting fifth wheel prep on a truck with rambox but you can go to the dealer and buy the kit and install yourself I have a 19 Laramie with rambox I've looked underneath I have all the places to attach the brackets so why can't the factory install it

@@JB_WhoWork As always done lots of research there's a guy on CZcams that has at 3500 ram Box that pulls a 40' toy hauler you have to buy a Reese revolution special pin Box but it can be done with the factory puck system channel name is gerb it
You mention you use diesel cleaner. Not knowing much about diesels I wonder what it specifically does? How often would you use it -- every tank full? Does it help the injectors?
Hey John it’s called Diesel Kleen and it can be run every other tank or twice a month. It’s basically like Lucas and it lubricates the fuel system. Its really just peace of mind for me and I think it will help protect the fuel pump since the CP4 is a European part made by Bosch and they have higher quality diesel there.

Biggest problem is the payload with ram. You have to go to a 3500 to get a rating that is correct and safe. Ford offers an upgrade that gets u around 27-2800 lbs for the payload in the 250. Ram still has a beautiful interior in the longhorn in my opinion.
Yea I’m hoping they fix this issue soon because I wouldn’t mind going back to a 2500 if I can get at least 3300#’s of payload 👍🏾
The current limited Longhorn at Thurmont also has the wheel to wheel steel steps and I hate them I wish they had the power steps and I hate ram boxes and they say it's real wood trim it is plastic lol at least that's what it felt like to me

Off topic but when you order a ram 3500 limited and you order the "bright wheel to wheel running boards" are they power deployable or the fixed ones? Also just how bad are those Firestone Tires?
Fixed running boards.
The Firestone’s are going to wear out pretty quickly if you’re towing but for a expensive HD Truck, there are better options RAM could be using

Do you think the 2021 limited longhorn seats feel more plush than your 2019 seats?
I Personally do. I have a 2021 3500 limited Longhorn Mega Cab. My kids love the WiFi I love the discounts insurance provides because of safe stop where the brake light flashes 4-6 times to warn people behind you. It’s taking time to get used to lane assist if you get close to the center line of the road or shoulder the trucks corrects you back into the lane. Another thing ram included on I think all long horns is 4 tps tire pressure sensors for your fifth wheel or travel trailer. I had a 2019 ram 2500 hemi loved the look but mpg was 9 and I hated it. So I went with the biggest horse in the barn lol

I can’t imagine why anyone spending that amount of money for a truck would buy a standard Cummins and not opt for the HO and Aisin. Also on the financing, in my opinion, if you have a payment that high, maybe you can’t afford the rig. You leave the dealership upside down. I’ve never had a payment over $500.00. 14 to 1500 a month is close to a house payment.
No incentives, tight inventories, not the best time to be buying. However, interest rates are low. If you can get a good deal, jump on it.
Oh, BTW, while we’re talking prices. The world has gone crazy on used pickups. What is your take on a 2021 Limited at $78,036 with a $37K trade in allowance of my 23k mile Tacoma which I REALLY like. I mean, if your going to give me $1,036 less than I paid for it new in November 2016, can I really say no, not to mention 0% for 36 months. What am I missing here???
Holy moly!!! That is insanity but manufactures are short on parts and dealers are paying CRAZY money for certain models. Only issue is you will pay more for them new...
@@JB_WhoWork I don't really know about that. I don't see any difference really in pricing on these big Cummins over the past three months.. Now, to expand on the Taco, the $37K is from Autonation, however, back in early March is got a price from Autonation to sell them the same Taco with 600 less miles and it was $32.1K. Big jump in 4 weeks. The local "no haggle" Dodge dealer said they would match it towards a new 2020 Laramie the had in stock with LEVEL 2 options and sunroof for $68K but I got cold feet because of the CP4. I am afraid to go down there now with the new offer from Autonation because they may take me up on it - LOL.. Still big bucks.

Just my two cents but if you can't qualify for a 72 month finance term you probably shouldn't be buying at 75k truck.

I paid cash for my truck but I do understand how hard this is and reality is, 80% of customers are going to finance. Rates are also low and 0% is available 👍🏾

@@JB_WhoWork not just jobs but about the country and economy in general. Where there are vehicle assembly plants there are numerous other suppliers for that plant not far away. Also, with Ford being an American company, their tax dollars are pumped back into the American economy to support our infrastructure, military etc. And, whether or not you like Ford, GM or even Tesla, fact is as American companies they represent American technology, ingenuity and engineering prowess around the world.
