I love your content, your videos inspired me to start cosplaying. I don’t have much sewing skill but I’m currently making a gravity defying Alice in wonderland dress out of entirely cardboard and foam.
I thought that you where going to do a fireproof dress underneath a highly flammable quick burning dress, then you light the dress on fire and you have the fire proof dress underneath looking stunning
The fact that in the movie it was an edited scene, but you managed to recreate the dress from the scene in real life!! Another amazing dress from you, Shay! ❤ Update, April 10 2024:Ty for the likes!
To be fair, in the book and movie, the dress is intended to only appear on fire as she spins. It's some special effect the Capitol can create. Having somebody light her dress on fire would have taken away from the scene and the awe it was intended to draw plus having to reset the flash paper for every retake of the scene would probably have been a nightmare. I LOVE that she recreated it. I wouldn't have considered this possible at all! I can't imagine the time and effort this took.
Couple suggestions: Use a flame protectant coating on the fabric, dye the flammable paper orange and red for the effect from the movie, then add a lot more flash paper or whatever you lit on fire. Make a mock up first, but there are sprays or chemicals they soak our pillowcases in that will not catch fire and even protect it from water (hydrophobic). Get a great background and some lighting, maybe a wig and you’ll have a super viral video.
I'm telling you instead of all the CGI bull crap Hollywood needs to do a serious CZcams deep dive and just hire these talented individuals so that way we can have some real life footage of this crazy stuff happening❤❤❤❤ This person has more talent and their tiny little fingers than I could ever have in a thousand lifetimes😂❤🎉
Unfortunately they'd pref CGI because money's cheaper that way. Which is sad really because there are a tone of directors who'd love to do practical fx be can't.
@@lizzyrank5405it's also about safety. you guys need to think logically. a single episode can be practiced for weeks, they're not gonna continuously light someone's outfit on fire just for a 5 second clip.

I highly recommend having someone with a tested and full Fire-Extinguisher around, when you try that! And the Dress under the Dresspart that burns off should be resisting the Fire. And still, keep at least 1 Person around that could put out the Fire for you!
