In ghost of Tsushima when you go to taka’s grave and bow you will be swarmed by butterflies which is probably a reference to a scene in Kung fu when master ugway turns into butterflies when he dies
In resident evil village when shooting a chicken before you can collect it’s meat it will do a final flap in defeat
In Back 4 Blood their is a sticky note in one of the safe rooms that references one of Coach’s lines in left 4 dead 2
@@masteryoda5424 chickens in mw2 do the same
If you shoot the Finn Lmg in modern warfare multiplayer for a long time (100 round mag) with a suppressor it will start to catch on fire. I don’t know if this classifies as an Easter egg, but it’s still attention to detail (it’s easier to see it with the chainsaw stock equipped)
The book “How to kick ass when your all out of bubble gum” might actually be a reference to John Carpenters “They Live” movie. Seeing as all the other books are retro movies as well
Beat me to it was just about to say….. great film
THEY LIVE!!!!!!!
Goddamnit I said it first but none the less congrats
I was thinking the same thing, since the movie pre dates Duke Nukem by a few years. As a fan of Rowdy Roddy Piper I remember "I came here to kick ass and chew bubblegum and I'm all out of bubblegum".
Finally, a lesser known movie reference in an otherwise we'll known video game.
its a reference to "They Live" an action movie starring wrestler Roddy Piper, which is where Duke Nukem got the quote.
This is true.
Damn... Beat me to it
I was gonna say the same. 😄 here’s a link for those who want to see that clip from the movie czcams.com/video/PpL3zDeKmNs/video.html
beat me to it. when I saw the title, that was the first thing I thought of.

Correct, looks like his dad jokes are on point
Those 'bodies' hanging in R6: Siege are giving me a serious Stephen Gammell "Scary Stories to tell in the Dark" vibe.

The monoliths, i remember seeing that they were originally placed as art pieces, but also could be from 2001 space odyssey.

The kick ass when you're out of bubblegum book is actually from They Live the John Carpenter film, which Duke got the line from.
Is that the scene where he is in the cinema or is that another movie?
@@goachris21 no he's in a bank in that scene
@@FGHHJazz why the hell did I wrote cinema when bank was what I thought about. I think my flu gets the better of me, I'm going back to bed. -.-
@@goachris21 lol
In Back 4 blood posists, you can find a few easter eggs from films and even left 4 dead 2 being "This is my boomstick" from army of darkness and the quote "This used to be a nice neighbourhood" from coach in the left 4 dead 2 trailer
Where do you find these EEs? I’d love to see them
7:05 The line "I'm here to kick ass and I'm all out of gum" is actually from another movie, "They Live," which was then used for the Duke line that has become more famous.
Hidden video game details: in far cry 5. If you skip dialogue between yourself and another character while getting a mission. The character will acknowledge that you are in a hurry and change there dialogue
Actually the Bubblegum quote comes from the horror movie "They Live" starring Roddy Piper! Considering the books are movie references it makes sense that it would also be They Live as well.
This should be at the top. I had an audible "excuse me?" when I heard him say it's from Duke Nukem, which technically it is but he's just also referencing it from what you just said.
Back4Blood has so many Easter eggs it’s great. When loading the third map of ACT 1, when you look at the bullet board, it references coach’s line in the LFD2 trailer “this used to be a nice neighborhood” on one of the sticky notes.
"You know what i like more than my brand new dedicated Lamborghini? KNOWLEDGE!!!"
The more you learn the more you KNOWLEDGE
Aaa nice one...only og knows it
Here in my garage eating my pasta linguine , you know what i like more than my linguine ? Macaroni
"Standing in Antarctica, wearing my brand new beanie!"
“thats why i got these bookshelves installed”
You missed a book. The how too kick ass for the Lord book is a reference to the peter Jackson film Brain Dead (Dead/Alive for the yanks)
I'm glad someone else noticed this. Great scene lol
The best scene in that masterpiece of a film
Came to see if someone else noticed, was not disappointed.
And the book “(...) chew bubblegum, and i’m out all of gum” is also a reference to the John Carpenter movie “They live” which Duke Nukem took the quote from
@@ThaBotmon i was going to comment this but saw someone else caught it too
need more facecam moments like the last one 😂
I agree
It’s a common mistake, but the “kicking ass when you run out of gum” EE is actually a reference to John Carpenter’s They Live.
Well, yes and no. Duke Nukem itself referenced They Live, however John St. John vocalized it much better than Roddy Piper.
@@SentiNel090 All about personal opinion right there. I prefer Roddy Piper doing it.
I'm pretty sure the "Kick ass and chew bubble gum" reference is from John Carpenter's "They Live" starring Rowdy Rody Piper
7:05 is a reference to the John Carpenter film 'They Live' from 1988.
Actually, that's not a Duke Nukem reference. It's originally from They Live...
The "kick ass & Out of bubble gum" phrase is a reference to "They Live" starring Roddy Piper. Duke Nukem stole the quote
Absolutely loving these irl Captain appearances
It nice to see a middle age man trying his best to entertaining people.

I’m so glad your showing your self can’t wait to see more of you in the future
The "how to kickers while out of bubblegum " is more likely based off the quote from They Live. Seeing how all the other books are referencing movies.
7:03 - While Duke Nukem did use that phrase, his use of it was actually an easter egg/reference to the movie "They Live", starring wrestler "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, where the line ACTUALLY originated
I absolutely love watching your videos they bring me joy and happiness whenever I'm feeling down are usually pop in one of the Easter egg videos or one of the detail videos.
Day 12 of showing Whataburger some love: In RE 7, you can find Whataburger cups throughout the game, Whataburger is a major food joint in Texas and Louisiana (and other southern states), so adding them to the game is a good detail to note
Love this series, never stop whatchu are doin, much love.
I was having a bad day until this. Thank you!
Did you really just say that "I'm here to kickass and chew bubblegum" a reference to duke nukem, it's definitely to They Live
100%
loving these little mini skits
I love how often you upload brotha! Thank you for all the grade A eggs
You do realize duke nukem's famous catchphrase is from another horror movie right. "I came here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all outta bubblegum!" Was originally said by Roddy piper in They Live.
I think this is a cool detail in a video game, in Fallout 4 , one of the main mission takes you to infiltrate Kellog's mind, and one of the memory of him is in the vault where The player can see his/her own body in the cryo-pod, now if the player decided to change their apperance in the commonwealth before doing this mission, for example i change my character eyes, and add some war paint on my character before doing the mission, in the cryo-pod i can see myself before my apperance changed.
One thing I found funny is back in the original Back 4 Blood Alpha if you tried climbing down a ladder it would for some reason slam you into the floor at 100mph, in the Beta they left a message on the wall next to it which references this incident. They also have a sticky note in one of the safe rooms which says Coach's iconic "This used to be a nice neighbourhood" line from Left 4 Dead 2
Keep up the good work captain 😃
The monoliths are nods to the movie 2001: a space oddessey
That’s what I was thinking
Nope, completely different monolith, they are obviously a reference to the real monoliths appearing around the world as the video states
@TheNickness the monolith could be a reference to both 🤷♂️
@@luca_.3d No man, the monolith from 2001 is completely different, if they wanted to reference that it would look like it, instead it's perfectly identical to the real ones, there really isn't much to think about.
@TheNickness what ever helps you sleep at night
Aye aye Cap’n! Thanks for another video!
What a way to make our Saturday better ❤️
Love your videos, keep it up from Italy 🇮🇹
the bubblegum quote is actually for 'they live' duke nukem was actually quoting pipers line from the film.
Please continue to show yourself in your videos!! Love it!♥️
So entertaining
I love how you search Easter eggs and have fun
hyped for the new upload
Great vids!
You with the tinfoil hat reminds me of that scene from signs where they are all sitting on a bed talking about aliens. It made me laugh. Thank you🤝
the level "hells bells" good be a reference to ac dc's "for whom the bell tolls".
Another amazing video
I love the quick shots to you doing something 😂
The chew bubblegum one is a reference to the 1988 horror movie "they live" starring roddy piper. All appearances of the "I'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubblegum" line are Easter eggs for that movie. That includes Duke nukum saying it over a decade later.
You really are putting in the work man with these videos! Great content. The reference about kicking ass and chew bubble gum appears to be a reference to the film They Live with Rodney Rowdy Piper ... What a film may I add :)
2:22 , 3:24 You Never Fail to Entertain us Captain🤣🤣
Love your videos
LMFAOOO the Tai Lopez one is hilarious. my good friend had to endure working for a company he purchased
7:06 is actually a reference to “They Live”
I like the IRL bits ! they're unexpected and quite funny
That Is some amazing Easter eggs u found there
Zombie army dolls are made by the doll maker, that’s mentioned in the second part of the very first level when you pass through a security door into the compound. Off over on the right on the ground level I believe it mentions the doll maker
Yup
The conspiracy shots of you!! Masterclass. Hahahaha.
I love Easter eggs so much
Not sure if you've done this or not but in battlefield hardline on the map breakpoint near the E flag you can find a restroom and if you enter it there will be a Very obvious stall by the doorway. There is an npc inside the stall and if you shoot or melee the stall the person inside will tell you to give him a minute and if you keep hitting the stall he will get angrier and he will start yelling at you.
the ''i kick ass for the lord'' book is a reference to dead alive which is another horror movie reference
Another book on back4blood was
"How to kick ass for the lord"
Which is a reference to Film dead alive the priest shouting I kick ass for the lord before dying
The How to Kick Ass when you are all out of Bubblegum is a reference to They Live a John Carpenter movie.
The post it notes in the safe room on back 4 blood, loads of references to films etc
Those hanging things in R6 could be a reference to Resident Evil 2‘s (Remake) Ivys you first encounter later in the game, since R6 includes some elite skins of resident evil characters!
The kickass while out of bubblegum is from They Live. A great classic movie.
The "you will find this" will never get old
I love the parts when you pop in, it really makes the jokes funnier:)))
There are Aliens in GTA 5 and while talking about aliens at 3:25 Captain Eggcellent has a hitman poster in the back. GTA 5 also has hitman mission Franklin has to do. The poster says Miami. Vice City is GTA's version of Miami. GTA 6 will be set in Vice City and will have Franklin in it.
Couple things I noticed,
The monolith is a reference to 2001 a space Odyssey, not just the real life versions of them.
The quote “I came to kick ass and chew bubblegum and im all out of bubblegum” is a reference to the movie “They Live” that was referenced in Duke Nukem.
Who else loves that he is showing himself more in the videos
No one commented this but the Splitgate cube at 1:30 also has a red crowbar up top which is a reference to Half Life’s own Gordon Freeman
2:23 nice metal hat!
On back 4 blood if you read the post it notes on the wall, one of them said sumthing along the lines of “we are not calling them zeds” referring to killing floor 2 zeds and special zeds/zombies each game has
Well actually, duke nukem talking about bubblegum in itself is a reference, to the ever underappreciated "They Live". Fantastic movie.
The kicking ass and bubblegum reference is from "they live" I believe, originally that is
Hey cap, I'm a big fan and I love your video they make me smile. I came to tell you about a "Easter egg" in cold war zombies. In the new map may Der toten in,where you get the robots hands on the shelf near the door there is a notebook with a sticky note that says "do your homework!" I think it's pretty and I'm sure you will find it cool too. (BTW to get in the room you need to get brain bot on your gun)
The refferance "im here to kick ass and chew bubblegum" is from the move "they live" wich duke nukkem stole
The chew bubble gum is a reference to the horror movie They Live Duke paraphrased it as a Easter egg to the movie. Movie was first
I love your channel so much 👌
I THINK the Siege one is explained by the accompanying cinematic which mentions that the "aliens" have taken the form of some of the operators.
I would imagine these are the assimilated operators in question. (well, three of them)
If you shoot the Finn Lmg in modern warfare multiplayer for a long time (100 round mag) with a suppressor it will start to catch on fire. I don’t know if this classifies as an Easter egg, but it’s still attention to detail (it’s easier to see it with the chainsaw stock equipped)
catch on fire literally or heat up red?
@@guywhoasked6046 it will catch on fire, then it will cool down if I’m correct
Attention to detail: In Ryse: Son of Rome, your characters voice is muffled if he puts his hand over his mouth, and if you get your sword wet, it washes off all blood off it. Also, if anything occurs in water or blood puddles, there is accurate ripples and splash effects. Pretty good details for a game from 2013 in my opinion!
In the BFB beta, one of the small huts you can find in the later levels, there is a trap door cahined shut with two hands sticking out of it. A reference to the trap door in Evil Dead, also referenced in Hunt: Showdown I believe.
the rainbow six one where the bodies are hanging, i actually though it was a reference to arnolds Predator film where they found skinned hanging bodies
they acutally kinda look like B.T.'s from Death Stranding
So i just found a cool detail i never knew in Forza Horizon 4. So apparantly when it's winter season and there is snow everywhere at random you can find other normal NPC's driving around in these trucks with the salt sprayer thing and so on (my apology i forgot the name of the vehicle) i found this really cool and realistic. Hope you will put this in one video of yours keep up with this amaeing content.
In the first waiting room for the back 4 blood beta campaign, there's a bunch of sticky notes on the wall, one of them sayi ng "you got red on you" which is referencing Shawn of the dead
Them "floating" bodies in R6 gives me Death Stranding Vibes like the BT's
In the Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 campaign mission “Crash site”, at the very beginning of the mission, there is a helicopter that you can jump into the rotor blades and get unique death quote, just like in Cold war.
No! How to Kick Ass When You Are All Out of Bubblegum is a refenrence to the 1988 science fiction action film They Live.
Not to be one of the AKCHULLY crowed but the kick ass and chew bubblegum line is from "They Live" before Duke Nukem I believe, I could be wrong.
Love the vid!
In b4b you can find a gold skull being held up by dead hands in the map with the church. Doesn't do anything when you interact with it but its cool.
7:08 i think it is a "they live" reference more than a duke nukem one
Lol I know how you feel Captain Eggcellent about waiting for a game to come out heck I'm waiting on both far cry 6 and especially FH5 and btw I absolutely love ur videos Captain Eggcellent sir u and Kacpi26,and Eurogamer are all my 3 favorite CZcams channels that easter eggs, secrets, and references
In Back 4 Blood, the safe house before the bug boat finale, there is a sticky note that says "this used to be a nice neighborhood" which is a line that Coach from left 4 dead 2 said in the trailer I believe.
in the glorious half life 2, i found neat detail that when you hit the zombified humans with paint cans it actually paints them.
The kick ass while out of bubble gum book is actually a reference to "they live" movie, which is of course referenced by Duke nukem
