Just sold my gixxer 600 and was looking for videos on this bike. You helped me make my decision easier. Awesome video bro!
I have heard of some people having throttle/idle or oil leak issues. Obviously, if I am spending 11K on something, I want to know that it's not going to be a headache. My last bike was a '04 CBR600RR, which was amazing. I put 30K miles on it in three years and beyond tires and oil changes, never had a single issue. GREAT bike, but I'm older now and I wanted something a little more sophisticated than the japanese four. I just don't want any problems...
Nice skids!! Oh, the bike is sick, too. Love the crystal white color. Love ya, man. Keep up being awesome.
You're right about the ride height. I'm 5'9 and I have to slide a little forward on the seat to get my feet completely flat. I'm not tippy toeing it, but I feel like I'm stretching a little. I get a lot of shit about it lol, but I don't care I love the bike. It sounds like nothing I've ever heard and its so easy to ride, and they look amazing! I have a 2010 D675SE. Nice bike dude!
Just wanted to say I really appreciate you doing this review after riding it for a while. I've just taken a new 2014 one out this morning for a test and I am in two minds to whether to just grab it and go nuts or walk away. Town riding was really bumping and stiff. Nice custom work too, very subtle.
dope bike bro! i got a duc monster 696 and hoping to get a triumph 675r next season and your vids are real helpful! and i love the mods too. keep up the good work.
thanks for the review, I'm looking to buy one soon. Had an R6s before and for you case, we're pretty much on the same page for comparison, so I'm very glad to be more assured.
Thanks man! Yeah, I was looking for videos like this when I was deciding.
Bro. I absolutely love your bike. I plan on getting a 675 next summer. I have a zx6r 636 right now. But I love the Daytona so much more. Great video though, keep it up man.
Beautiful bike brother!!!.. I have the red 06 675 and I love it!!
Nice review mate, great bike too. I have a standard 675 but would love an R-version.
Love your commentary, esp the "things that happened" section :) I also left my key ignition on park-mode too long one day and screwed my battery had to replace it.
Glad to hear it. I never got to sit on one, yet the 675 is my dream bike. Still saving for it though..
Bike sounds BEAST
Beautiful bike man!!!!
My friend who commented right below you is about that size and he rode mine. He currently has a 2005 Yamaha R6 and he said this is more comfortable and fits him well!
Hope to see you riding around
I was trying to decide between this, an 848 or the new F3. Decided on the 675R, great video.
Good moto vids dude, you should make more! Sweet bike btw.
I love this bike in red...
awesome review ... :D ... the bike is so beautiful ... you are right about the look of it ... this bike really catches the attention on the street ... some people might make a mistake that it is a Ducati when it passes by quickly because of the underseat exhaust and duo headlight ... hehe ... ride safe my friend ...
White looks dope
Sounds sweet
Beautiful bike man
+RUSS WARREN Thanks man!
Thanks man!
Good review and nice mods. I had one of the first off the line in March '06 and loved every minute of it. Had to sell it, but seeing yours has me Jonesing for an 'R'! Have you tried on the seat replacement cowl? First thing I did to mine and It looks pretty good. Might save you replacing the tail = more cash for other mods. :-)
Very nice my friend!
Great review! Totally agree with you!
Just pay a little attention on loosen screws and coolant shortage. :)
'10 StripleR owner
Oh shit! love that ultra suede seats is the main seat gel?
miss those underseat exhaust on the newer one !!
YEAH
Love the bike
Daytona 675r is so #Awesome Motorcycle I love it
Glad you made the right choice! I love the F3 looks amazing but I heard has some issues with it.
Didn't have that problem with my 675, but my RSV was like that. Best tip is to select 2nd then tap your foot down onto the peg at an angle where it just hits the lever right. Takes a little practice, then you'll get it 19 times out of 20.
Awesome video, thanks! Think you can make a video on the perks of the R? Debating on the 675 or 675R 2012/2013 editions. Any help would be appreciated!
I want that seat just picked up a 08 with under 2k miles and I agree the seat is hard..
Hey can you do another video about your bike and how it's been. I want to buy a 2012 675r but idk. Your the only person that has in depth it a 2012 can you make another video of things you have found. Have got to get use to and just things of the nature of how it is to actually own it and do maintenance and things like that. please an thank you :D
A local bostonian with a sweet bike, i want one of those badly
I agree, however when you bring the Street Triple up to speed (over 100) it might get a little out of control with no fairings. I personally have hit 140+ on this bike and it feels like 80 as long as your down.
See what you've gotta do is find a race team and just buy their used tires and put them on the bike. I just got my '12 675R 2 weeks ago and it still had the factory tires on it. Went to the shop and got a slightly used pirelli for the front and a michelin for the rear for $110. Cant beat that.
What would you recommend for flush mount turn indicators now that Watsens is outta business?
Thanks boss! I always wear protection.....thats what he said :)
Great looking beast. Can you tell me what type of HID/LED you used for the headlights? brand, bulb type, with or without relay, any fuse changes, installation tips and tricks. any detail is appreciated. thanks
STR = easier to wheelie, feels like a bicycle. Daytona has unshakeable front end feel, great if u do a lot of track days and i mean a LOT because the STR would be just fine on track id imagine
Check out Sport Rider 1/4 mile times, the 2008 cbr600rr beat the triumph 675r in the 1/4 mile! Sport Rider ran a 10:52 in the 1/4 mile on a stock 2008 honda cbr600rr. What scares me about Triumph is the reliability, not as reliable as a Honda. Just my take. I love the looks of the triumph 675r.
Can we see an update on your bike? These original videos were a big part of the reason I decided to get the R...
@TheLoveMachine
Awesome! :D
@LoveMachined Oh yeah no doubt about the Package,I was thinking of getting a 2012 Speed Triple.
Bootyfull Bike dude! Did you start on the 675r or did you start on something smaller?
loving it bro, i got one of these as well, and Ive done very similar mods to you, with plans for a few more, I bought a GoPro recently so ill make a quick video and post it up soonish :P
P.S how do you find it with getting it into neutral ? like say your at a set of traffic lights and click it into neutral? mine can be a real fuck around, I told the dealer about it and he said its just one of those things that the Daytona's do....
im gonna steal it :)
Hey i have a 2012 Triumph Daytona 675r also. I wanted to know how you did the dual HID conversion. Are they bi-xenon or does the high beam still work? I have bee looking for a kit, but only found kits that have to be retro fitted.
What do you think of this or a standard 675 (non -R) over the CBR600 RR-7? I'm torn between the two...
How's Maintenance on this bike? Compared to yamaha and Ducati. Is it more on the yamaha side?
Thank you :)
Hey guys , was wondering if you know the exact LED head light bulbs that this guys 675r has? Any replies would be much appreciated!
is there lots of track days in boston?
Yours isn't the only 675R in the boston area :) Just picked up my '12 last week! You prob won't see me riding around boston too much but if you go up to north shore area you may.
That is the Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator
How much did you pay? I was thinking about an R6 but I've heard so many cons about it.
What do you think about the 2013 675r?
Did you ever get the race tail done?
Information on the seat
The biggest difference is the 675 delivers it's power lower down. In a straight line drag there's not much in it, but in the real world on the R6 you're waiting for the revs to build or having to knock it down 2 gears to get anywhere because there's bugger all power beneath 8k, by which time the 675's gone. I also had a 1000 twin which has massive grunt low down, but was all over by 11k. When it comes to bikes and cylinders, THREE is the magic number! Sound? That's just taste but I made a vid...
Can you let us know how much you paid for each mod? Hard to know if we're getting ripped off out here these days.
Of course ;)
Suggestion from one rider to another; Careful about showing your licence plate on video. I know a few moto vloggers who did and had their bike stolen. I'd hate to see that happen to you. Beautiful bike man.
How do you like the ergonomics of the bike overall? I read it can be a somewhat aggressive riding position for the street, since bars are low.
Aleix G If they bother you that much then you can always add risers or higher bars..although I believe they have clip ons.
which do you like more r6 or 675r?
Boston, MA
How much was the aftermarket seat cushion?
how does it compare to a 1000cc? I dont really know too much about the 675
How does it ride on a dirt road ?
Hey whats up man, I am selling my ducati hypermotard right now, and looking at one of these or an 848. I just want to know how torquey this engine is and will it lift up in gears with out klutching it? everything else about this bike seems pretty amazing to me though.
how is the seat height
How does the sport seat perform in rain? I've heard it's not that durable against the elements and gets soakinh wet. True or myth?
Seat is fine, gets wet but dries really quickly!
Own place :)
There are a lot in NH :)
its already in my garage
Oh my God! A motovlogger that showed his face! Whatever will the world do?!?!
+Marcel West-Bailey Hahaha I wish I was more of a motovlogger, but can't hide this face :)
Because your bike has an undertail exhaust, do you have any trouble with heat?
no ive owned one heat isnt a issue...if its new at first it does
It sounds so much better in person, it doesn't come across as well over the camera :(
Geico just quoted me $3849/year to issure this bike. I laughed in the representatives face. I am utterly confused. My CBR600RR cost me $480/year. What the hell is going on? I am curious what other owners of this bike pay...
hey dude, awesome bike, thinking of picking up a 2012 model in about two years once im finished with my mandated 600cc govt restrictions that we have here in aus for new riders.
Anyway i was wondering if this bike had abs or not? Hoping for not, i started riding to avoid electronic aids that ruined cars :p
I paid sticker which was 12,500 for the 2012, if you're going to buy a new bike I would definitely pay for the wheel and tire package so every puncture and bent rim is covered.
how's it with service is it expensive out the ass like ducatis?
Mate I'm between 5'7/5'8 and I'm fine. Either stop and rest on one foot or get taller boots if you're not confident with it. Sitting on it with both feet down I get pretty much the balls of my feet down.
did you buy your daytona from a dealer?
So after installing the HIDs do both lights stay on when using the low beams?
+Adam Higgins Nope, they work just like the originals with high beams as well!
Not stiffer than the R6, I thought it was very comfortable.
5:18 did he just say he got nailed in the rear?
do u live in ur own place or an apartment btw?
Hey I was just wondering how the daytona compares to the r6 in top end power?
did you even watch the video? Anyway the daytona has a lot more in the lower end, the r6 has more top end.
Cost ?
how old are you??
That exhaust is S w e e t. Who makes it?
specs everywhere say it's got a 4.6 gallon fuel capacity. where are you getting this 3.8 gallon??
In case you still haven't gotten y our answer, 3.8 for the main, and the rest is in the reserve.
where do you go for riding the twisties?
?
What bike did you start riding on?
+Levi Smith Yamaha R6 2003
Wish i was 6ft...
About a WEEK AGO ayyy
I ride around on a 25 year old honda VFR, with brakes that are by modern standards terrible, suspension that feels like a pogo stick and a chassie design from the early eighties, and cross ply tires, but with about 65hp and light weight.
I think i will be fine, you might want to rely on electronic aids, i prefer to rely on commonsense to avoid such situations and skill when such situations are unavoidable.
Is this 2012 or 2013 bike? Btw awesome bike! :)
2012... 5 years later :)
