- Ann demonstrates 5 awesome origami pottery projects and provides templates for you to follow along at home with. Or you can just watch Ann stomp some clay with her feet as she takes wedging difficult clay to a new (low) level. Template link is below - enjoy friend!
Link to templates. These are .jpg of the templates. What most folks do is either screen shot or download and size them to their need before printing. All the designs (except for the clover bowl) Ann used a 8.5" X 11" (Standard) paper layout. imgur.com/a/0ctSfGL
Answers to questions we get all the time:
We typically bisque to Cone 04 and fire to Cone 5-6
Ann uses Standard English Porcelain no. 365 unless specified otherwise in the video.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll probably overlap the edges to give it a more of a origami look.
Hey Carrie! That is a great idea. I like the overlapped edges. Go for it. Thanks for watching!!
Absolutely love your “conditioning” 😂
Beautiful projects as always! Amazing!
Thank you for sharing ❤
Hahaha. At least this technique saves my wrists and hands, 🙂. Thanks as always for watching and all your support.
I really need a "love" button!
Or a superlike or kind of. I am always fascinated by the videos.
Thanks so much Penny. I also wish we could be more interactive with our viewers.
@@doninis1354 Aw...thanks Doni.
Thank you for sharing the templates and this tutorial. I'm running out of ideas (art block) this will help me get back in creating. Much love 💕
Hey Jo. My pleasure. Im always looking for and trying to think up new ideas so feel free to check our videos. Happy potting!
The clover with a wooden lid with. holes to match the clay buttons . Just a neat thought and I enjoyed your video . Very Blessed cause you enjoy clay and sharing your knowledge. Thank You ! Keep On Keep'in On!
Hi Mark. What a great idea. I think I can see that in my head. I have a potter friend who makes round lids for some of his pots by turning the wood on a lathe which I think would be so fun. A clover shaped lid would be a bit more challenging to construct, Im thinking jigsaw the shape, and then perhaps a router along the bottom lid edge to bevel to fit inside the clay, and then along the top edge to round the top? Then drill out and carve the hole parts. Very inspiring. Thanks Mark.
Анна, гениально!!!❤
I always love seeing your origami projects. It’ neat to see how the template shapes turn into 3D forms.
Aww...thanks Alila. Thanks for watching!
Thanks - once again you have inspired me to try something new. I really love your detailed introductions! Thanks again!

I loved that you were stomping the clay into shape. lol The little cupcake bowl is a great idea! They all were but I especially liked that one. Thanks for sharing your amazing creativity ❤️🤗🐝
Haha. I guess Jim thought that was pretty funny. I have big feet so I guess that is one good way to put them to good use, haha. Thanks for the kind words and always being supportive of our videos and ideas. Happy potting Deborah!

❤ Hi Ann, you are definitely wonderful!
Can you please tell me how many centimeters you made the plates for the pieces? the clay you opened and kneaded.
I love ceramics, but my least favorite thing is kneading… And why not use your feet and give your back a rest?! ahah…
Even in that you are creative!
Always grateful. Thank you very much for the links provided. ❤
Hi Vanessa. Thanks for watching and for all the kind words. Im glad you liked it...and the feet technique, haha. Im not sure what you are asking about as far as the plates for the pieces. do you mean the templates? I have a link to the templates in the description section. I put some of the measurements on them to give you an idea of how big I made them, but usually people screen shot them, then print them out in the size that they prefer. As far as centimeters go, I measured them in inches but most rulers here have inches on one side and centimeters on the other. Do you have the same thing where you are?
@@annruel1982 Ann, i did what you said in relation to the links, so I could later print it in the size I want, but what I asked about the centimeters was the thickness of the dough when stretched with the rolling pin?! just to give you an idea, if you can say so, of course!
It will depend on whether your dough shrinks a lot when baking or not, it depends on the dough used, but I'm still always worried about making the pieces too thin or too thick.
Thank you and have a nice weekend 🌷
@@Vanessa.1000 OH, I understand now. Each slab was rolled out with a rolling pin to 1/4 in thick. Would that be a bit over 6 mm? What I did was to place a long ruler on either side of the slab and then rolled the slab between those two rulers. the rulers that I have are about 1/4 inch thick so it worked out perfectly. I got my rulers from the paint section of my hardware store if that helps. Good luck.
@@annruel1982 😘🙏🏻🌞❤️
would be nice to cuerdo seco deco in and outside
Hi Willem. Thats is a great idea. I love the look of Cuerda Seca. Give it a go!! Thanks for watching.
Where is the site for the free templates?
In the description.
How do I order these oragami patterns?

Why didn't you have time for the clay to form up?
Production schedule. It’s the director’s fault 😂
Clay has its time, we have ours 😊
@@JohnLowes haha. I like that John. Jim and I have a very strict production schedule as he has to edit all the videotape, I then write a script and everyone likes to see the finished pieces so I had to have time to finish everything. We were a little late this week and waiting for the clay to dry would have delayed our Saturday publication.
Hey High Desert. Jim is right...we have a very strict production schedule each week as we do the videotaping on Monday, he has to edit all the videotape, I then write a script and do the audio. Of course everyone likes to see the finished pieces too so I had to have time to finish everything with the glazing and firing and videotaping those. We were a little late this week and waiting for the clay to dry would have delayed our Saturday publication.
Why did you use this particular clay for these?
Hey Beatrice. It is an hour and a half drive to get to the pottery supply and I am running low on my clay, so I was trying to preserve my porcelain for my other work, haha. I had this groggy clay that i purchased a while back for another video and thought I would use that. Good question.
