- Some under ice views from beautiful lake Saarijärvi in Vaala, Finland
Divers:
Fisherman: Eelis Rankka
Fisherman's friend: Tommi Salminen
Boy with the balloon: Jukka Pelttari
Camera and editing: Juuso Mettälä
Manuscript by Juuso Mettälä and Eelis Rankka
Safety divers: Esa Vuoppola and Juhana Heino
Music: Stefano Mocini: The end of the doubs
Couple of things about this video:
Camera I used was Sony HDR-SR11 with Amphibico HD Elite housing.
The Wheelbarrow was saved from the bottom of the lake and I have used it many times after that.
The rubber duck and the balloon are also home with me.
None of the divers got any permanent damage either.
And yes, we had a lot of fun making this video.

I can't count the number of times I've lost my wheelbarrow that way.
I can't count the times I have found a wheelbarrow that way.

What is this thread?
Saw this awhile ago just never commented, probably one of the coolest videos on CZcams by far.

Finland? Never heard of her.
Never remove this video. I come back from time to time to watch this again.
Same here. Right about the time the lakes and quarries around here start to freeze :)
Blz Ahz then save it
+ENZOxDV9
On what? You have to realize that not all people own stuff. At the time I was homeless and without personal possession of any kind.
Just thought I should remind you to watch it again
Well you could still save it. You had access to a device of some sort to go online.
So if you were at a library, download the video with a CZcams to mp3 site, then upload it to either a personal CZcams channel (unlisted as to not take credit away from the original) or upload to Dropbox, google drive Ect.
You don’t have to own a device to make back ups of things.
For all who don't know... They are standing upside down under the ice (that's why the bubbles 'seem' to be falling from their faces, but its actually going vertical towards the sky). The reason they can do this and why they don't sink to the bottom is because of their scuba gear. You can regulate your buoyancy with scuba gear and by decreasing the weight your carrying. Also, cold water is more dense than warm water, so that means your more buoyant in cold water.
I think you are lying this is camera trik
Who could possibly NOT like this video? What the hell is wrong with people. Excellent idea, amazing visuals, and beautiful music. Well done!
They probably think it's fake lol
Obviously this was filmed in Australia and not in Finland, otherwise it won´t work this way!
What if Australia is on the top and Finland is in the bottom, because in space either way could be up or down...
:o
Spongebob makes so much more sense now
St8Solja ikr
not really
Lol
In spongebob, the sea was made of goo, hence the name goo lagoon, how do people not know this?
There are no words to express how phenomenal this video is.
@J. Smith 😂
There is no way explaining how genius these guys are! I often return and marvel about how fantastic this clip is. I feel grateful to have seen this and to live in a time that enables this.
Completely agree!
Nicely done guys - since Finland is on the opposite side of the Earth to Australia, we are not surprised that you were upside down. Drysuits are great fun and best of all - warm in such cold water ... thanks for going to the effort to make this video.... :-)
The film went accidentally this way, because their camera man was an Australian...

Airbubble!! Service Work!!
This Happened..
(Upside Down)
I guess the wheelbarrow have reached you now, after six years? You can keep it. On your continent I guess your best scientists are still working on this alien technology called the Wheel? ;-)
For those who didn't know, they filmed it all upside down under water. Freaking amazing
No they did not
I had no idea
Omg really no way
@@peterosmond5742 Why are you all answering a 11yo comment ?
Fake !!!!! Camera trik
(sees auger come through ice)
"Yeah that's just Jerry knocking about."
I don't wanna believe that I ever forgot about this video omg. I love it SO MUCH. Watching underwater videos at night always calms me, and the song is so relaxing omg.
After 8 years, this is still so amazing to watch!
Came back 10 years later just for the background music ❤️
Me too
I've got an upside down headache just from watching that.
Now they have to do this on clear ice with someone standing on the surface so it looks like a trippy reflection
they need to try skating upside down that would have added to the craziness
YES
I remember seeing this video shortly after it was uploaded. Now I've watched a hell of a lot of videos over the years but this remains the best video I've ever seen on CZcams
So do I. Relaxes, makes you laugh and think: Is this what The Aliens do to us? ;-)
Brilliant! I love doing that when I'm diving, swimming in every direction and avoiding aligning myself so i'm oriented with gravity, it gives a floating/flying feeling that's very hard to describe!
"Standing" upside down on a object that's in the surface of water can be done even with the common Diver's equipment, all you need is enough flotation to beat gravity, and calm waters to avoid loosing balance.
One of the greatest videos on youtube, thank you. As well as other, I come to watch time to time.
That’s absolutely fantastic. Great work.
Thank you.
what is the beautiful yet mind blowing activity it looks hell of fun and it makes think how the hell is this possible
air floats up they are upside down that is how its possible
It took a while for me to figure out that they were upside down! Awesome video
This is now my new favorite video on the internet
First time a saw this I said it must be finnish guys and yes they where my finnish brothers!
Only you have this kind of unique humour that I love.
Best regards from Sweden
Wow! I turned my laptop upside down to get their perspective and I am sure they passed buoyancy 101. That's amazing!!
Lol.. this is so awesome! I want to try it haha..very cool concept
Beautiful. Thanks for this.
This is truly a work of purest genius!
The wheelbarrow!
Oh well.
they got it back :))
@@joovaikka1614 how?
freaking amazing! so beautiful. forget skydiving i want to do this!
it's really cold.
Ryan Anderson They have dry-/wetsuits on...
Zirka Fin you're totally right, it doesn't mean that it's going to feel room temperature. The air they're breathing will be basically the temp of the water they're in. the mask they have doesn't cover all of their face. I haven't worn a wet suit rated for that temperature, but the one I wore let water enter when I hit its range of motion. dry suit helps a ton but that face still hits that water
it doesnt matter if its cold. Just to be down there. so beautiful.
Ryan Anderson &ฝ
For me the best video in the tube! Great scubadivers!
Neverovatno,,, svaka cast momci na ovom performansu.
For everyone that is confused, they are standing upsidedown on the ice. You're welcome.
I know it is upsidedown but how can they stand on that ice? What force keep them "up"?
***** The same that makes you float
***** They are using drysuits. If you turn upside down the air in the suit ends up in the boots and you can stand/walk upside down
It’s buoyancy controlling them and their wet suits
Krusty Crew1206 they are most certainly using drysuits in such conditions
No comments yet! Like.
this has to be one of the coolest videos I have ever seen on youtube
This is epic! Never saw it before and I've laughed to tears. Bravo!
2:12 "shit I dropped the wheelbarrow"
2:14 what the fuck dude!? We needed that wheelbarrow!
***** 2:19 "I don't give a FUUQQ"
That has to be the coolest shit i have ever seen
How can you dislike this video , the time and effort that went into making this awesome video , i swear some people are from a different planet than i am!
My favourite video on the whole internet
Mind blown. I don't even know what's going on....
+dinh They are upside down ice fishing. LOL The wheelbarrow is full of air.
+Adam Fahey How can they walk like that?
+dinh Their suits are full of air, they create lift
+dinh I don't know what yours getting blown has to do with anything, but congratulations, I guess.
+EPR89 Do you live in a perfect world? Or are you just an ass?
So original!!!!
Guys, this video is awesome! The fun you can have with a dry-suit and some imagination. Brilliant, just brilliant. Thanks for the best 3-minute-45-seconds in a while. :-)
The whole video I was just wondering how much fun it must have been to make this...
great. I watch over n over
No wheel barrows were harmed in the making of this film.
So how does this actually feel? I mean, gravity is pulling you down, and buoyancy is pushing you up. But I imagine you would still get the blood rush and everything that comes from being upside down. I know astronauts in the neutral buoyancy lab are limited in the amount of time they can spend inverted for precisely this reason.
Conor Corrigan oh my god I’m so dumb I didn’t realized they were upside down thank you for saying that
When scubadiving you have lead belt to keep you in desired depth. These guys thought why not double or triple it? Put lead bars in your drysuite feet. Not recomeded, by my friend, who was in his early officer years chief of Finlands Navy divers. Not for beginners or anyone with functional brains.
@@petrusinvictus3603 pretty sure they have no bars so they can remain on the ice upside down. Bars in their feet wouldn't make sense
@@theNimboo They have no weights at all. You're completely correct. They are simply upside down. Basically "standing " on the frozen top of the water.
I've watched this video soo many times probably not long after it came out. i completely forgot about it until a few days ago it came up on my tiktok. so nostalgic :)
Excellent vid! Keep em coming!

Очень красиво
unique video bravs
this is pure art
Best inverted set trick ever!
Wait was the wheelbarrow sinking up
RIP in piece wheelbarrow and balloon, you will be missed.
i wonder what was inside of the "balloon". Sand?
“Rest in peace in peace”?
That was BRILLIANT! Underwater fisherman 'catches' pole of above-ice fisherman! Excellent visual 'pranks', well thought-out and performed! Thanks for making and posting it for all the world to enjoy!
This is actually amazing
*Does Not Compute*
Can someone explain why the bubbles go down? Are they filming upside down or is it because of the density within the water?
Not the brighest kid, are you? They are uspide down. They are under the ice.
Lol not sure what else to put. You can't figure out why then live the rest of your life in amazement.
This is going on my bucket list!
That was awesome!!!! best vid EVER!!! awesome job guys!!
Life could be dream
Why is the truck stuck to the ice and doesn't sink? And what are they pouring into it?
answer to both questions:
+Takkenrakker air
+Ramiz S the whole video is upside down and they are pouring air in there.
Honestly the best video ive ever seen
one of the coolest things I've seen
what is even going on?
Kayleen Jones lol ikr
They are under the ice, I don't know why they have stuff like a rubber ducky and a wheelbarrel but it's trippy
Kayleen Jones Recording everything upside down on the opposite side of the surface ice. The air bubbles at this perception look to fall and flow like water.
Kayleen Jones Under ice water making fun it.
They are backwards under water and there's a thin layer of ice they are walking on. Air floats so they had a pocket of air on the wheel barrow that kept it on the "ground" as soon as they dumped the air it sank
i don't understand. it says fishing, but they're not catching any fish, so what's the point?
Andres Hernandez that's why fishing is called fishing and not called catching
bloody amazing.......
it really makes you think why you would actually dislike this video
My brain can't wrap around what is going on here, but it is amazing!
3:07 JP JP na 100%!!!!
They are really upside down
Very beautiful!
Best diving video out there!
Just ow did gravity not pull them down?
you know how when you hold your breath under water in a pool you'll fload that's what they could be doing and had stuff from on the ice above them hold some of the things in place
DaKoTA KiD 104 but they are caring huge metal air compartments, i get it thats theres oxygen inside, but that thing is still heavy.
+Walter Carvalho true
+Walter Carvalho unless they let some air out to make them lighter
Actually not. It is simlpy physics.
isn't all that mercury
Lol
This is brilliant!!!
STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL!! :D Very clever idea guys!! :)
They're using the oxygen to float upside down under the ice.
Brandon Foster thanks
Brandon Foster No, they are not. These divers are just using air, the same stuff you are breathing now, NOT oxygen as you claim. Oxygen can be used by extremely advanced divers as part of their nitrogen decompression schedule after deep and lengthy dives, but not in cases such as this.
Oxygen is actually toxic under pressure and even the divers using it for decompression will not do so any more deep than 20 feet and only when at rest.
+mblitch thanks for that completely useless correction that we all could have lived without
Goodness forbid that people actually learn something and understand some physiology. With attitudes such as yours, it is no wonder why the US is 23rd in science education in world rankings. Why is mediocrity so seemingly acceptable to you?
Brandon Foster How did you ever pass the 5th grade English class. You must have failed out enough that you literally just aged through the education system.
I'm stoned right now (no not Muslim stoned) and this blew my mind.
Hahahahaha
What kinda stoned?
It is mindblowing even without being stoned
Now I gotta smoke one and watch it again. lmao
@@werknemerful The Snoop Dogg kind.
Simply amazing!
Superb, very funny and very difficult to do. Brilliant, i will share this with my diving friends!
I know this video from about 7 years back. I think it may still be the most creative thing I've ever seen. You should have a billion views.
Well, you got a couple millions. Nice enough, but people as a whole don't understand the world of diving.
What a beauty. Watched it twice to understand it.
Best ice dive video ever👌👌👌👏👏👏
OMG !!! This is amazing!!!! Walking upside down underwater!! Wow!!
now this is gold!
MIND BLOWN!!!!!
Very COOL!!!
That's so awesome, never crossed my mind this could be done until I saw this video :-)
Very well done! Thoroughly enjoyed the vid
Wow!
Definitely bro, it's things like this that make you glad to be alive, and want to get out there and experience!
it took me forever to understand this. its so cool!
