      "TOGETHAAAAAA WE WILL... become family once again. Seriously, I miss you.
      Radahn, little brother, I miss our playfights. All those pranks we played on each other, all those times we raced each other to see who'd get to the Manor first. I miss that, but I miss you even more. I hope Leonard is doing well.
      Ranni, little sis, wherever you are, I hope you're doing okay. Blaidd and old Iji are still with you, right? I hope so, they always took care of you when Mother and Father weren't around. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten our plan. And I will see you again, I promise.
      Mother... well, you've probably forgotten we exist. Still bound to that rotten egg, I assume. Father gave up on all of us a long time ago, and yet you're still holding on to him. He left you, but we didn't. We stayed. And yet you left us. As if we were to blame for him choosing Queen Marika over you. You're as terrible as her.
      Whatever. Go rot in that awful library with all your fake children. Clearly you love them more than us.
      And Father... I have even less to say to you, old man. What a soulless waste of air you are. Iji was more of a father to me than you ever were. How to shave, how to fight, how to ride a damn horse... it should have been you, not him. I needed my father, not the caretaker.
      I hope it was worth it. Leaving us. I hope you got what you wanted in the end."

    Poor marika, she lost her people in a horrific genocide, and in her rage she charged her son to commit attrocities beyond measure. She condemned her son to blasphemy.
    And he shunned her for it.
    Her first sin was the sealing of the tree, and the genocide that followed.
    She simply wished to never have death take whom she loved again, sealing away destined death after attaining godhood.
    When her only son, not cursed by the horn sent, was slain, she was broken.
    Although a god in flesh, she was simply human.

    I don’t know anything about music theory, but I feel like the two notes being removed from the Elden Ring theme that separate the beginning from the full orchestral performance holds some kind of symbolism and significance.
    As if to solidify the isolation of this place from the wars and conflicts that swallowed the rest of the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow. Only in this somber and empty place, is some remnant of a kinder past, a desire for healing with the minor Erdtree, now only a hollow peace.

    With the reinforcement that the Greater Will has abandoned the world since way before Marika's rise to power, Grace has to therefore be a gift from Marika to the Tarnished.
    There's no grace in the Shaman Village. Marika did not want us to see this place.

  • @drohit1207
    @drohit1207 Před 22 dny +48

    Marika being a Shaman, and Shamans being described as easy to meld to other bodies makes me think that Radagon melded Marika to himself after he left Renalla. Which has holes of its own, but it explains why Radagon and Marika had opposite viewpoints on the Golden Order. Marika destroyed the Elden Ring, while Radagon was trying to fix it.

    • @FingerLickinEvilToTheBone
      @FingerLickinEvilToTheBone Před 22 dny

      Radagon was definitely a part of marika while being married to renala, this is confirmed with seluvis’s masks description. Not saying they didn’t meld, but it had to have happened before he married renala

    • @Perdido626
      @Perdido626 Před 22 dny +23

      Marika fused with Radagon because she was a goddess and Radagon was her mortal self... So she could destroy the elden ring and be killed by a tarnished. The shaman part means they can fuse with others creatures living or dead, such as Godrick with the tarnished and the dragon's head or Rykard with the Eiglay (The immortal snake)

      @@Perdido626 But if Radagon was Marika, why would he have the opposite goals to her? That's the main reason why I believe they were two separate people at some point in the past and Radagon forced her, or coerced her, to merge with him.

    • @Polomance862
      @Polomance862 Před 20 dny +14

      Radagon didn't do it, for Markia was the goddess. It appears that the Hornsent sought to create a saint, one who could embody godhood and Marika was the success of this effort. Many people of her village, and beyond suffered the jarring process by the Hornsent.
      It's possible Marika was a successful saint and she resented the Hornsent for it. The sacrifices made that turned people into those fleshy blobs we see in the DLC are enough to send her into a rage. She sought to preserve what little bits of happiness in her home town. Knowing there was nothing left of her home. There was nobody to save, nobody to heal. Leaving the Erdtree as something of a bouquet to a grave.
