    Almada is a good option if you want the benefits of living in Lisboa but without the costs, its just on the other side of the river, all you need is to cross the bridge or the ferry and its even closer to the beaches at Costa da Caparica.

      Braga is surranded by mountains, nearby braga is the beautifull "Parque nacional da Peneda Gerês ", and if you want, you can go to Spain to enjoy the big asturias mountains.
      Another 2 cities in mountains are Covilhã and Guarda, both are close to Serra da Estrela, the biggest mountain in mainland Portugal, this 2 cities are calm and slow pace, smaller cities than Braga, they are a bit isolated far from airports and beach, wich you could prefer

    • @RuiCBGLima
      @RuiCBGLima Před 6 měsíci +4

      The city of Guarda in the heart of Portugal, near the highest continental peak, Torre - Serra da Estrela (mountain chain). There's also a lot of small cities / towns around Guarda, where you can see typical rural life in Portugal, a lot of mountains and a lot of hidden gemns.
      "Near" Guarda there's also Covilhã, with a University. About Guarda it has trains to Lisbon but it doesn´t have to Porto for some reason...
      A bit up north there's many small cities like Vila Real, Régua, and Amarante, already along the Douro river valley region.
      Braga is quite beautiful, though not exactly in a mountanous region, it's close to though to Gerês. And if you go to Gerês please visit fully.... there are places there.
      For me the most beautiful city is Viana do Castelo. My only issue with it, is that it doesn´t have a University / academic life. But it's close to the ocean and the Gerês mountains.

      Honestly, if you want a university in English teaching, then why not choose a English speaking country instead of Portugal? Also, there’s no job opportunities in Portugal, and the salary is very low. Many Portuguese young people left Portugal and went to other European countries to find a job.

      @@annielivesineurope2234 I understand your point of view, but let’s not forget English is the international language of the world, so it is not only spoken (with quality) in English speaking countries… Most people come here for the weather, and the general atmosphere of good people and good food in Portugal, it really is a unique and amazingly beautiful country to live. So why not? Every single country has it’s own flaws, there’s absolutely no perfect place on this earth for our human eye, and that’s ok… Each one of us can choose what fits best with their personality, and maybe Portugal is just the right fit for some ☺️ I hope you enjoyed your time visiting 🇵🇹❤️ Have a lovely Sunday ❣️

      Salazar, the portuguese that was spoiling the world elites plans had a moto: God, mother land & family.
      I believe its part of the elite agenda, they set the trends.
      One thing I can tell is that foreigners wont fight for or to maintain the "original" culture, traditions and heritage of a country. And then with such a mix of people, its hard to get them all together to fight for a common cause.
