This episode implies that My Adventures with Superman is earlier in it’s timeline as it hasn’t existed for that long yet. It was here to unknown and most of the Loises are already journalists for years whereas this Lois has only been at the Daily Planet at all for 1 year. Also those supermen went evil in their late 20’s early 30’s and our Clark is early 20’s, possibly even younger than Lois!

The world building in this show is top notch. They do such a great job of being respectful to the DC Lore while also creating their own version of it!
I already want a plushy of Mr.Mxyzptlk! I really dig the new, more Imp-ish design. And I love the chaotic goober's energy in the show, can't wait for their next appearance!

I lost my mind when I saw DCAU Superman show up I was like wait hold up what ?! 🤯, also it was pretty damn impressive that the creators managed to do a really good cohesive Multiverse story in the first season in just one 22 minute episode
DUDE! I was like OOMG!!! This whole episode was such an achievement. Good on them for making such a well balanced series!
You know, what I think is amazing is that beyond the whole multi-universe theme, the ending follows an aspect that has been developing throughout the series, which is Clark's fate in this universe? the General (which we can all assume at this point is Sam Lane) is sure that superman is a threat to the world, obviously Loise and Jimmy don't believe this at all, but for the first time Loise can see Clark as a real threat and worse she now has in her hands the biggest weapon to kill her boyfriend. In a way this is what BvS tried to do about questioning how dangerous someone like Superman could be, but unlike that disaster of a movie, here we have an emotional connection to the antagonist and also we can see that Clark's morals are enough so that those evil futures do not come to pass.
Very well said Andres! I think the best thing this series did is make these characters feel like real people and spend time endearing us to them. Now they can introduce high concepts such as the multiverse and we are still so heavily invested emotionally to follow right along!
I think Mxy is trying to set Lois up to hurt Clark.
Mxy NEVER wants Clark dead or really hurt… but he does consider Clark his ‘favorite toy’ usually. This might ALL be him setting stuff up in the background, moving pieces where they need to be.
Monty, I also have been reading comics my entire life, however I'm 69 years old. You mentioned most of the points I would said however there is the theory that Myz's appearance and personality changes every time he goes to a different universe. I remember a logical Myx from the Earth-3 (Crime Syndicate) universe for example. This Myx is smarter than most of the other Myxs. Also I'm sure you noticed that when he put on the bowler hat in this form it changes into a tiara.
Did some research the logical Myx I remembered was from a anti-matter universe and he became stupider when he visited a positive matter universe.

It seems that, whether he’s a multiversal constant or not, his powers may vary between some dimensions and worlds… So, does he still have the “make him say his name backwards” Achilles Heel?
Maybe it’ll come up if he returns, maybe not. I know the reason DCAU’s Mxy appears only twice (a third time as an Easter Egg, in JL) is because they struggled to write good stories for him; it’s difficult to creatively write ways to defeat a villain like him (the Riddler had a similar issue).
This was one of the best episodes to date, they just keep getting better. There is one thing I appreciate about this series and that's the fact that they didn't play around with them finding out Clark's secret identity. Four episodes in and it's all revealed; though we find out in the 5th that Jimmy already knew. I think it's one of the reasons they have such good story telling because people don't have the expectation of "when are they going to find out?" Instead, we get, "Ok, they know, how does that affect things?" And that's what this episode does.
Very well said Kinightshade! This is what this show does best, the same thing the comics do well when they are great: Write great characters and the audience will want to follow them anywhere. They did an amazing job of getting us so attached to this Lois, Clark and Jimmy that I can't help but be excited to see where their story goes!

It's explained in the Emperor Joker storyline.
There's only one Mxy that has many variations that are all aware of each other since they're essentially only one meta-existence.
They also had the dragon slayer sword from Berserk in this episode.

My favorite line from the whole series is from this episode: "Now I know which Lois Lane you are. You're the FUN one!"
Mr. Mxyzptlk is always trying to test Superman. He's always been my favorite Superman villain because he's the one villain that can't be defeated with brute force. Superman always has to outsmart him. So obviously he's both helping Clark and Lois here, but also making things worse, just for the fun of it. He knows that this Clark is at a disadvantage, because he can't communicate eith his father, he doesn't know about Krypton, so he drops the name. But he wants Clark to earn it, so he makes sure Lois finds out about the datk side of Superman, and finds the Kryptonite. If Lois follows her heart and protects Clark, she's been warned about the effect Kryptonite has on him. And if she gets paranoid and decides she can't trust Clark, well thats fun for Mxy too. Mxy is entertained either way.
I thuink Lois really is the best Lois. She is the one Lois who figured it Superman's identity. And again, whith Clark in the dark about his heritage he needs someone who can find the truth. Lois is insecure, and sees herself as a failure when all the other Loises are successful but I dont think any of them can stand up to her. Which is why even though Mxy dismisses her at first, he ends up involving her in his schemes.
I was surprised how well versed(pun intended) this episode is given ol' Myxy hell I'm more surprised how similarly Loki(series) esque this episode is in feel! What a great episode! Damn son!
This whole series has been such a wild wide! I am surprised they brought out Mxy this soon but damn was it worth it!

I think the Superman with the white suit could be the Justice Lord Superman from the animated series Justice League. I'm no expert though so I could be wrong

Loved the design of Mxyzpttlk (and that's coming from someone who never cared for DBZ). 😃 Also, I didn't recognize the last of the evil supermen (the one with the buzzcut and scar), and it makes me think that it might actually be the show's take on Ultraman (of The Crime Syndicate), to tease his eventual arrival. Possibly with the Lois Lane version of Superwoman. 🙂

I think the Superman you think is Red Son is actually Ultra Man from Earth-3, but who knows? For all we know he's a 3rd Superman
You very well could be right! I threw that out in the moment and it seemed right but Ultraman is a great choice!
Which begs *another* (admittedly non-pertinent) question: is that an Ultraman whose dimension literally flips every character’s morality (as in “Batman: the Brave and the Bold”). Or is it like the comics, wherein the Crime Syndicate consists of many people who aren’t the same but have similar power sets and are evil (eg: Johnny Quick isn’t the Flash, Owl man’s real name is Thomas Wayne Jr., etc)
Mostly an interesting question because the League of Loises called him “the Clark”; I doubt every evil one they know is Clark, but some have been such as Justice Lord Superman… who FYI, is a *far* more interesting villain than modern ones whose evil is related to either not having or losing Lois. Bah!
He's a lot like loki....if Loki's mystic powers were on steroids! Mr. Myx is RIDICULOUSLY powerful. He was low key playing throughout the episode. (hehe...loki) and when Jimmy apprehended him at the end I was like "you think you can just....hold him there?" And then when he escaped I was like "yup, no prison couldn''t hold him for long"
😂 very true. MCu is a very complicated character to explain to non-comic readers so the Loki comparison helps! I knew that silly prison wouldn’t be able to hold MXY!!!
Really loved the 508 or DCAU reference in this episode. Both with Clark and Lois. But I'm really hoping that this doesn't make her more suspicious of Clark.
As an aside, i wonder how they're going to handle the rest of the super senses. Since the promo for next week's episode showed him going crazy thanks to super hearing. Though its not surprising. I wrote a whole story around a hero going through similar. Though his was much worse.
I think they are going to use it to tell a very fulfilling story about Clark, Lois and Her father. I have a really good idea of where they are going to go with it but this show loves to swerve!
@TheMontyVerse no kidding. I thought for sure we'd have the Ultra Humanite. And instead we got the Brain and Monsiur Mallah. Heat Wave was another I was surprised with, they could have done maybe Volcana with the fire tech.
This show's great. You get lulled into false promises of a fun, irreverent episode and it ends up furthering the plot.

Season 1 is 10 episodes, apparently. Putting Mxyzptlk (and Lois variants) in episode 7 is a pretty bold move. StAS waited until episode 21 (8 of season 2) to get impish with it, and that wasn't this much of a multiverse story aside from Mxyzptlk himself being in it. "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" brought in Bat-Mite (and references to other versions of Batman) in episode 19 of season 1, but that was a pretty wacky, silver age-y show already.
At this point, I'm just curious how they might heighten from this point. How weird is this show gonna get if this is only episode 7? I'm here for it.

Mxyzptlk was so funny and although he was clearly lying and being mean to Clark he seemed to be more for messing with the Louises’ plans than MAWS Louis. He even calls Clark and Louis nicknames as “The Dependable Clark” and “The Fun Louis” meaning these dimensions versions he’s interested in. He’s very cat like. With not just his face but his personality which I think would probably be a fun twist of his normal comic personality. But I never read the comics so I can’t say for certain

There is something rather uncomfortable about a multiversal police force that only recruits Lois' who have had bad experiences with Superman. Personally, I would have all but Leader Lois' experiences be not fully understood. Like the Superwoman who let down Luiz and Jalana actually have been a clone. And cyberpunk mistook Hank Henshaw for Clark. The real Supermen of those dimensions are either actually dead or in coma. And they don't know cause Leader Lois hid this information away from them.

We did watch them, I just don't show it in the edit because the screen minimizes automacially when the credits plays and we have to keep fumbling with the screen (blame MAX!).
