The Ensemble Matheus' version of Vivaldi's Stabat Mater is absolutely divine with Philippe Jaroussky's sublime voice. In this difficult and chaotic pandemic time, it's a balm on the soul.
I did not grow up listening to classical music.I was from a very blue collar background. However,I love this trio of musicians . It seems like Spinosi wants all of us enjoy this beautiful music. As do Jarrousky and Lemieux. Perfection!

I think it was the first time when I heard his singing - Cum Dederit. Jaroussky may be very famous in Europe (and I think it is totally deserved), but unfortunately, he is still virtually unknown in North America. I had no idea who he was, but I was stunned by the beauty of his singing, and immediately started looking for more. He is scheduled to tour US in February, so I hope more people will hear him and learn about him.

Tengo en mi compu Stabat Mater y siempre que la escuchaba (escucho) me daban ganas inmesas de llorar sin saber su significado y hoy finalmente la leí en español e inclusive la simple lectura causo el mismo efecto! Q hermosas composiciones desearía que existiesen autores iguales en la actualidad! Me encanto.. I wanna cry!!!!! C'est Grâce à des Recherches Personnelles sur la Superbe Musique Baroque que je m'en suis ''sortie'' peu à peu de mes Violentes Séquelles (Crises d'Epilepsie) dûes à l'Encéphalite contactée à l'âge de 11 ans ainsi que ma Forte Dépression Nerveuse (Tentatives de Suicide) à 36 ans !
Je pense être en Mesure de témoigner que la Musique adoucit les Moeurs...

also you should guess and remember how difficult this work is. when you have to do it every day for example, or to be all the time in tension - you must always look nice to the time of your concert, (if you have to work only in evening - almost full day is missed for your personal life - all the day you think about your evening work, you may never be too late)

I love Vivaldi style since I'm little girl. And I love love Jaroussky voice since I heard it. So I can't say that I hate classical music anymore.

Cum dederit est assurément un des airs lyriques les plus difficiles à passer . Le eeeeee dure ....6 temps ( si j 'ai bien compté ) .
Le Amen est pas mal mais chanté un peu trop vite . Mieux par Tim Mead et Alois Muhlbacher
Stabat Mater Dolorosa, juste superbe. Marie Nicole s 'en sort très bien
The ascending scale on "fructus ventris" is the hardest part of this piece to get into memory. Even harder than the fast runs of the Amen. And believe me: they were hard enough, especially if you want to follow Spinosi's tempo, because darned!, is that man on Speed or something? :)
But doing Nisi Dominus feels so good, it was definately worth the trouble of learning.

Lemieux and Jaroussky are fantastic. So sad that their voice types are usually overlooked by most people in lieu of sopranos and tenors.
technically you are right. I should have only said: "voice-beauty" ;-)).
His voice resp. his singing-parts are very special though and I can fully understand the enthusiasm about his singing.

Jaroussky is amazing, esp. 3:23-35 is an unbelievable range with subtle nuisances.
I don´t want to argue bc. it´s just my impression that a real female voice has a richer, nicer, more developped tone.
On the other hand - it´s so true: I hear this male voice again while answering you: it´s so amazing to hear this adult male voice! A lot of magic (....) is transported with this unconvenient cast and voice. One really should not do without if man is available. I (used to) have a mezzosprano-voice, right pretty and strong and full of character (former teacher cit.;-)) )

PJ´s voice is real great and exciting(for a male v.). But the pure tone- and voice-beauty is still greater with real women´s voices (imho).

because i'm actually quite sure it's by Vivaldi. It's from his Opera Bajazet, it's the Aria from act 2 scene 7 by Irene...
i'm certain, because i've preformed that opera, not that aria of course, but i'm certain it was in the opera. but perhaps Gasparini also composed another Aria with the same title...
