- My Ayahuasca Stories is a playlist telling people's personal journeys with the indigenous plant medicine. This episode is slightly different because it follows part of my own Ayahuasca journey that specifically took place at the Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica. Rythmia has been running Ayahuasca ceremonies in Costa Rica since 2016 and have been a large part of spreading the consciousness of drinking Ayahuasca. I've always wondered if there was a big difference between Ayahuasca and Mushrooms. What do you think about the FDA keeping both away from Americans?
I’ve delayed responding to this because I have so much to say and have started writing a book on the matter. To put it shortly, it’s a shame that the US actively works against the exploration and promotion of plant medicine and instead promotes a pill for everything someone is feeling. Our bodies are not running low on ibuprofen, OxyContin or viagra. Those are expensive meds that are “approved” and make billions for pharma. In reality, plants can heal pretty much all we need.
Have you had judgment put against you about being open about using Aya?
I haven't felt any judgment directly about it but I am not concerned either way. Plant medicine and its benefits are of great importance to me and I will continue talking about it and working towards people understanding it better and eliminating punishments towards people who also are interested in natural healings.
