  • Carbon Recycling International is an Icelandic company which commercially offers its Emissions-to-liquids (ETL) technology solution various carbon emitting industries. CRI's proprietary ETL technology process converts industrial scale CO2 emissions into green methanol in a one step catalytic reaction. The technology solutions is scalable and applicable to diverse industries.
CRI has unique experience in designing, building, commissioning and operating a Power-to-Gas and Power-to-Liquid processing plant at industrial scale, recycling thousands of tons of CO2 per year and producing thousands of tons of renewable fuel from hydrogenation of CO2. Based on experience with an industrial scale reference site, they offer technical solutions to industrial clients and investors, including technology licenses and services to engineer, build and operate renewable methanol plants.
Together with clients CRI identify opportunities, perform preliminary or detailed feasibility studies, engineer, build, commission and operate methanol production plants based on the Emissions-to-Liquids platform.

OK, but why don't anyone put these beside a coal/oil based power plant? Isn't collecting the CO2 directly out of their exhaust pipe far cheaper than collecting them from the atmosphere.

because that's expensive. these fossil fuel companies just want to turn cheap fuels they can't sell into Methanol and advertise as"clean" energy despite still contributing to GHG emissions.
These companies are all frauds. unless they are building carbon capture facilities it's all the same polluting mechanisms as before

This is excellent video. But methanol so produced if used 100% in cars will result in the same CO2 emissions. It is better to use the methanol for other applications.
