Small suggestion : What i find is that a lot of non indian reactions on indian films focus a lot on the “why?” and “how?” part of the film instead of treating it as a movie. It is for entertainment only. Nobody’s searching at the outrageous logic of lighting the horns of bulls on fire (it was to make them run swiftly in the direction of those bandits). We as an audience ignore it. Trying to find logics actually kills the experience of it being a cinema.

We expect different things from a movie. We Indians want all the hype and entertainment we can get. Most of us expect a movie to be poetic, beautiful and larger than life, so that we can forget about our daily struggles and enjoy a movie for 3 hours. That's why songs, dramatic entrances and over the top action scens are given, so that every person can get something he can really enjoy from one movie. And you missed most of the story through your questions and lack of knowledge about cultural references. So that's not your fault either. At least you guys didn't fake it.

Disappointed that you thought this movie was sexist towards women. this one shows the queen mother who is in real power in the kingdom. Though she is only married to the prince of the kingdom , the crippled guy , she takes over power and even her husband listens to her until his son is grown up. If women didn’t have power , the real prince could just say that his son is the king , instead of a competition between Bahoo and Balla. There were no royal men left at that time - just the crippled prince , his baby and his brother’s baby. If the times were misogynistic , then the wife would not have a voice. Instead they offered her the throne , but she says no and says the babies will grow up and inherit. She says no because she is not from that kingdom and she is only married into it. But she is the real power. She is even planning the battle in the first movie and is negotiating with the warring army chieftain and standing in the front. She literally says “ my word is law “ and her husband is just standing behind her.

This is what happens when one starts reacting to shows, movies etc without having an appreciation towards the different cultural nuances and no knowledge of the regional societal systems. Logic, alright to some extent one can satisfy everything with, but in a 2-3 hr movie how can one define logic every time. When one has superficial knowledge based on their own culture that creates a big bias towards other things. This bias can then destroy the very element of greatness what the screen is trying to present with its cinematography. I think it would be nice if they would’ve seen more movies before entering into this genre just for the fact that it would have widened their vision to appreciate the various regional and cultural aspects in the movies. The bias tends to destroy the ability to be more receptive.

Yea sure, all this is confusing but in a movie called "Endgame", a bunch of random sorcerer's start moving fingers in a circle, which creates an inter dimensional sparkling portal out of thin earth based air and thousands of foot soldiers and dead (turned into ashes) superheroes walk out of it and somehow that is supposed to make more sense for your brains. But as a reaction channel, which criticisms you present and which criticisms you negate depends entirely on the type of movie and its tone. Also, it’s important to present the criticisms in a right way, this depends entirely on the audience that you are presenting for. I believe that these two failed horribly in those last two points. Not only were they tone deaf throughout the movie by nitpicking small things on a movie that’s supposed to be larger than life, they also didn’t understand their target audience. Most people watching this reaction came to watch because they loved the movie and therefore wanted to connect with these entertainers by watching them enjoy the movie too, instead these guys simply criticised almost every second of the movie. And the way she keeps saying “I don’t care what they think” 😂😂 yea you should care if you wanna make money off of us through our views. LION KING is a reflection of stories of a kingdom. So if you look for it, you would find it in every movies about a kingdom.
My colleagues from UK actually loved the second part and they saw it in the theatre.
Understandable you didn't like it, 'cause our taste made us enjoy the silly initial half of this movie, and the director gave us that.
When you have a male character as protagonist, female character usually ends up as romantic interest. That's just the subplot. That's understandable, definitely not cringe. We can't have a love interest like WONDER WOMAN in JOHN WICK movie. Even if we have one, that's like a marvel kind of movie, multiple protagonists. All of dialogue of Tom hardy's character, basically a loner, in the Mad Max fury road can be written on a single sticky note. The franchise had a warrior like character in the previous ones. That's just the design and filmmaker's vision, can't complain. This movie is all about one character, bahubali and his arc, like any classical story, every other character plays to support or mentor him except for the antagonist. Rajamouli usually has central characters with almost no flaws, kind of epic hero and super human, that's just his style. VFX may not be on par with Hollywood, but story design and character motivations are fine, not stupid.
These guys should not compare the vfx shots bcz the budget of the movie is a fraction of any hollywood movies

Conceptually the Bahubali movies are stronger but falter in terms of execution
RRR is pretty basic but its execution & technical brilliance (supported by 5X more budget & learnings from past experiences) is what makes it stand out, specially to foreign audiences

I actually liked this movie a lot more than the first one, specifically because of the comedic and overly dramatic presentation. For example, when the Queen Mother gets confronted and everybody reacts in shock with the droning sound highlighting the moment, I get excited. These little moments are just fun in my opinion.
On top of that, the obvious themes of morality (honour, friendship, etc) contrasted with despicable villains are enjoyable to watch, even though I don't always agree personally with the shown application of those values.
