The hatetubers were saying everyone will hate the show after this episode... Still trying to figure out why. This was a decent episode. It is a bit confusing at the end because we're really only seeing it from the children's eyes and only part of the story. There are other things that have done this better. The movie Hero for example. There WERE multiple factions on Dathomir with different takes on their magic. This group feels more like the mountain clan from "Star Wars: Tales of the Empire" which you two haven't watched. There is definitely some set up for this show there. The witches we see from Asoka are a different clan. I think the forest clan. Dathomir witches are all female they don't keep men other than to use them. Not all Zabraks have red skin.

The episode was good but I feel like it may have been early I agree that it’s an incomplete flashback likely only OSHA’s perspective but I don’t know that we got quite enough of our present day cast for this episode to have effect that it is supposed too

I’m happy for anyone who likes this show and is able to find something redeemable, but man. From every technical aspect other than some nice sets, this show is a big misfire. The acting and dialogue writing is some of the worst we’ve seen. Although, Sol has been the highlight. I feel bad for the kid actors, the writers and directors set them up to fail

So this is what worried me about the guilt of the Jedi in ep 2. That said... This feels like a Roshomon episode. This is the first perspective: Osha's perspective. The one where the Jedi are (mostly) blameless. That said, I do think the groundwork is being set up for Sol to be referring to a *figurative* fire. Perhaps a tense negotiation that erupts into outright violence with Mae's arrival (with the witches possibly also having some sort of internal schism).

Mae is a narcissistic kid who is constantly gaslighting her sister. How many times is Mae either saying what she thinks OHSA is saying. Or telling OSHA what to do to benefit Mae. I can understand why OSHA wants to leave. What I don’t get is how the Covent is allowing one sister to abuse the other.

Yeah you're confusion isn't unwarranted. It isn't a mystery, it isn't a secret, it's just bad writing. This is what you get when you give a budget of tens of millions of dollars to a writer and director who don't understand Star Wars and decide 'through the power of vagina we're going to change Star Wars'.

I usually agree with a lot of your analysis of shows, but your criticisms of this episode didn't land AT ALL for me. Y'all just seemed salty for no real reason. This episode was way better than the first two.

Even without Godzilla in it, this is a gripping story of PTSD, survivor guilt, people picking up the pieces of a broken life and nation trying to move forward. Then you add Godzilla and it's the whipped cream and cherry on top. As a side note, you should check out the Japanese music scene. There are SO MANY great bands in Japan that western audiences are sleeping on. i.e. Band Maid, MAIMUM THE HORMONE, Hanabie, Lovebites

I couldn't believe that either Mae or Osha's actions were well motivated. I see no reason for Osha to want to be a Jedi. She knows nothing about the Jedi...and what she could know couldn't be admirable. It's not as though she'd been watching "Tales of the Jedi" on television. We saw no struggle for Osha to reach that decision. I can't believe that even as a child (or especially as a child), we've seen motivation to be willing to walk away from her mother and everything she's even known so easily. And even though they gave us a bit more evidence of Mae being a nascent sociopath, even that was done ham-handedly. I agree with Nerdy that the leap to homicide was too huge. I suspect that the witch mother has given us the authors' theme of the story: Good and evil are irrelevant, it's just an issue of power and who gets to use it.

43:33 Godzilla quick rise to surface brought the surrounding under water ocean with him because of his gravity pull. The fish died because it can't handle that quick decompression, that is why we see their stomach coming out of their mouth like that.

I think this could have worked better as an episode 4 or 5, with a little more knowledge of our main characters in the "present." The way the show is withholding information makes it confusing. I agree there are good things but the structure of the storytelling makes things hard to follow.

I love this show. It's not trying to be another Andor, and that relieves me! One of the things I like about it is knowhing how much it pisses off Nerdrotic. "I can handle sentient robots and I can handle Darths Maul and Pits Sarlacc, and Jabbas Hutt, but I draw the line at a nonwhite Jedi!"

Listen... The best experience I've had. Was watching the show and then reading the last three books. Because the last season of the show picks up perfectly and seamlessly on the last three books. Except the fact that Alex is still alive! Which was great for me because He is a great character. Regardless of the stupid s*** the actor did.

wow... this episode sucks. The writing, the acting, the directing. For Disney to release this shows they don't care to give us quality storytelling. Everyone connected to this show needs to be fired. The stink of this show ruins craft services it's so bad.

Yeah, force choking gummy hummingbirds (gummingbirds?) is always a red flag. But I guess if literally nobody else in the coven has children they could all just be terrible parents.

Love the deep dive after! Still unsure about this show but it is for sure watchable and could end being very solid!

I think the thing with the 'prize' is 14ths prize was The Toymaker being banished, and 15ths prize was his own Tardis. And the bi-generation thing is one of those consequences of 14s trick at the end of the universe. It's supposed to be a myth, but now it's come true. I like to think that the bi-generation was kinda like a paradox where 14 goes and lives the rest of his generation and then when he finally regenerates, he goes back to that moment on the helipad. I think that's why 15 is so touchy feely and happy, he got to live a whole life with his best friend and her family, he did all his healing already

I'd go so far as to say this deserved an oscar nomination for best foreign language film. Not necessarily to win, but definitly to be nominated. It seems incredible to say that about a Godzilla film, but there it is.

I believe the decision to show Noriko alive at the end highlighted the main theme of the movie ' Choose to live is the right decision ' , which is also why they make it so that the mechanic told him about the ejection seat, so he can choose to live or not.

Maybe Bunta plays a role. They all look poisoned, no wounds.

What if Noriko has a Godzilla virus? Does that mean a sequel will involve zombies? Godzilla Minus Z?

I expect we'll be back to this flashback from other perspectives. Clearly more is going on than what we've yet seen.

Spoiler alert !!! The witch mother attack the jedi,when they came for osha resulting in the jedi killing them. The witch mother survived and is the sith lord training Mai. She want vengeance and needs her to kill the jedi who took out there cult. The sith lord/witch mother lied to mai that the jedi attack first and killed osha too

The Arcane trailer coming out the same day REALLY hurt this episode for me. That's the bar for a genre-bent sister rivalry, and this isn't coming anywhere near it for me.

This Tardis definitely feels like factory settings just bigger and I think it's a good choice bc they are essentially starting over and now we got that Disney money lmao
