The only thing I saw different in your video Bucky from an industry lab is. (Well the lab I work at). We often times turns the funnel so that the pointy is backed toward the vacuum side arm. Using an industrial vacuum pump vs your handheld one, has so much pressure that it can pull your water into the arm/hose. Hopefully that made sense. You can also puncture a hole in a rubber stopper, add vacuum grease (lube really). and insert funnel into it so that you don't have to get a "special" one.
....the gasket didn't "just come with the kit". With out the funnel gasket, you would not be able to generate a vacuum. So the filtration process would still take forever, sans gasket with vac pump. You made the video, I have no formal education past the 3rd grade. Do you think what I'm saying is technically accurate? if so, then maybe you should edit/remake the video to highlight the importance of the funnel to beaker gasket. yes?
Ya...and if you don't want to use your hands to do the work to make the vacuum you can have a wash to do the work for you, and this will make big filtrations much easier to not mess up... because if the liquid e.g is overflowing it will end up in the sink. Sorry for bad English. ;D
Have you tried making coffee with this? I just saw a $90 device that basically performs this function. Supposedly makes hot coffee after steeping for 1 minute. Cold brew in 4 minutes
Highly appreciated pimpen but I got to your vids by looking up the brand Florex which I imagine is the brand u use..! In any case I'm seeing what you think about ten holding up to the heat?!! Thanks
Jesus my English went too hell. I was just saying, rotate the funnel until the longest part of it (the point side) is facing toward the arm, to help prevent your filtrate from being sucked into the hose.
agh it hurts whenever I hear someone say "negative pressure."

I really enjoy these videos, the presentation and effort is great.
Another good thing to use for filtering on top of a flask is a ring filter.
What is the name of the device you holding in your hand to pump vacuum sir ?
I love it, when Bucky speaks german words :D I'm German and it sounds quite cool ;D
nice pressure filtering, will come in very useful.

Go to a hookah bar and you'll see that this trick has been out there for a very long time my friend
Not sure why you thought this was being passed of as a recently discovered process, buy ok....
Nice!!! Love my scientific filter paper
the rubber dam was put on upside down, the taper goes toward the funnel.

can i have a link to where you got the flask and vac tubing? i dont know what size to get
Heat up the end of the hose in hot water to make it easier to push over the hosebarb.

Wow, so Thats how you make cheap milk!
Thanks, Bucky! I always wondered why the milk is so cheap in the U.S ;D
Would this work if you dissolved sugar in water?
That's what he said: "we don't like loose things, of course"
Where can i get this exact equipment?
This is awesome, thank you.
Hey Bucky, could you do an experiment making coffee using a chemistry set like on Breaking Bad?
when we doing titrations?
Great video

Does the box of filters say Lab Nerd? :D
Are you having trouble reading, or something?
@@231mac Eh?
cool video
good video
is the brand of your Filter Paper realy "Lab Nerd"?!?
rofl :)
Teach us how to make the blue meth
Thats a Vacuum Flask not a Filtering Flask.... :p
it can be called either one
Nice and tight.....like the first night! Can't be as loose as a hot dog in a hallway!
Sorry....wrong audience, I'll leave the classroom
