I'll add an improvement to this one: categorize the effects by what they do. Protection, search/summon, etc. For example, Snake-Eye Ash searches on summon and sends 2 to summon from deck.

If you look through the Spellcaster-type monsters whose attack and defense are both equal to or higher than Dark Magician's, most of them are extra deck monsters/rituals, monsters that are blatantly just alternate or evolved forms of Dark Magician (such as Dark Sage and Sorcerer of Dark Magic, not to mention all the Dark Magician fusions and Magician of Black Chaos who were already covered by the first category), a bunch of "Spellcasters" that no one in their right mind would call "wizards" (Myutant Mist, Dogmatika Nexus, Fleurdelis/Iris Swordsoul), and a handful of implicit gods (Harr, possibly Cosmo Queen, and Hexe Trude who is based on a fairy tale witch who is actually the Devil in disguise).
Unfortunately, even ignoring all of those Dark Magician should still lose his title as the ultimate wizard in terms of attack and defense to Endymion's ultimate experimental furry, and a couple other cards.
Only loosely related to this comment but it'd be funny if they released a "wizard" archetype so we could all laugh and say "dark magician isn't even a wizard".

I'm telling you people the master duel shuffler is rigged.
It analyses what cards in your deck are played most often (presumably only in duels you actually win), and then decides how often to allow you to draw those cards.
You'll get a playable hand for 3-7 games in a row, and then brick like hell for 3-5 games in a row.
Occasionally, it'll break this pattern and give you an *actually* randomized hand for a couple games, which is why this comment says "3-7" and "3-5" instead of definite numbers. This is to throw people off the trail. The rigging would be too obvious if you drew decent for exactly 3 games and then bricked for exactly 3 games every time.
I'm also convinced that it also pairs you against players that are on the opposite end of the shuffling cycle from where you currently are. Most of the time, anyway. If you brick, your opponent draws perfectly. If you draw good, then your opponent bricks. Most of the time.
The shit is rigged. I am nearly 100% certain of it.
If you're so convinced it's rigged, then why don't you build your deck knowing what the mechanisms are? Theoretically, you can make a deck that never bricks if what you say is true.

Yu-Gi-Oh just doesn't work that way. There's only so much variance you can do with a deck before it just doesn't function at all. That's a result of Yu-Gi-Oh being so archetype focused. Your chosen archetype would need to have the ability to actually accomplish something off of a deck of nothing but starters. (Zoodiac is probably the only deck that can do this with any degree of success, but broadbull is still banned.)
If literally your entire deck is starters, then the deck probably doesn't do much. If it's all extenders, then you have infinite combo potential with no way of accessing said combo. if it's all hand traps, you literally can't do anything.

@@GeneralNickles That's absolutely bullshit lmao. Some decks like Swordsoul almost never brick due to all of their engine and support having multiple uses. Mathmech can turn almost anything into a Circular which is full combo off of a single card. If the deck shuffler was rigged especially in the way described by OP, these decks should never get a bad hand.
The actual issue is that people suck at card ratios. People run 3 copies of cards they don't always want to see in the starting hand (should probably go down to 2). People run 1-ofs that are detrimental to run or run garnets the deck doesn't actually need or can't support. Then there's the hand trap meta which people are convinced that you must run 3 Maxx C / 3 Ash / 2 Called By + 1 Crossout no matter what when they should actually look more closely at the ratios the deck can actually support without hand trap bricking constantly.
@@GaussianEntity apparently your reading comprehension is garbage (or you just don't know how math works), because the way I described the shuffler being rigged would make those decks brick significantly more often than they statistically should.
And none of your "everyone sucks at the game but me" theory explains the consistent patterns in how and when you brick that become glaringly obvious when you start paying attention to them. I noticed this shit almost immediately at launch, and it hasn't changed since. No matter what the deck in question is.
