Hiking Alta Via 2 In The Italian Dolomites
This is only the very first section of a much longer trail called the Alta Via 2 In The Italian Dolomites. We used the Plose gondola and stayed at the Plose hut.
The total length of Alta Via 2 is 192.5 km
Before the hike we stayed in the city of Bressanone (Brixen), in the South Tirol region of northern Italy. It was a beautiful city and we loved our time there. We got to Bressanone via train from Milano
The best time to hike is between end of June and end of September when the huts are open and the snow tends to be low.Artist's

This is the hut we stayed at www.plose.org/en/plosehuette-summer/ and that website has details of the trails in the area. We absolutely loved the town of Brixen. It’s on the edges of the dolomites it was so beautiful
