Most possibly the best melodic death metal band ever existed. Dark Tranquillity are the pioneers on this genre either we like it or not! Amazing musicians and excellent composers....Not to mention the absolutely poetic lyrics....Just total RESPECT!
But after "the gallery" so boring...
DT is great, but I allways prefered In Flames and At The Gates. All Gothenburg metal is great!

Maseterpiece
Old school melodeath are almost close to none these days. I miss those days where it was purely death metal with more melody. Instead we get boring melodic music with growls in our present time.
Acctually Wintersun makes great melodeth today

In Flames and Dark Tranquility are shells of their former selves, but other than that, old school melodeath bands are still dope.
Also, to add on to what Love Metal said, Wintersun, in my opinion, is the BEST band out today.
COB is pretty great too, but they disbanded. Amon Amarth and Ensiferum still exist atleast.
