Hi!
What mint is the all proof surface round from?
@@jmsparger4339 Thats what I was thinking, never seen any of them thought they were all fake.
When I was young, the tills had a slab of marble on them. The cashier could drop the money on the slab and if it did not ring, it was fake silver, no sale.
That’s awsome!
Beat me to it! That sound was my first thought on "testing" a coin.
As someone whos recently gotten into stacking im often paranoid that my coins and rounds are fake and never buy online; gonna use this app to test out my maples
Great info and assistance. Thank you so much for sharing this with us all.
Terrible that the Chinese are making fake rounds now with Monument Metals mint Mark's or MM. This fake stuff has to stop.
It’s wild, they’re faking everything. 1oz gold bars with the packaging, US mint coins, you name it.
@@DIYMETALS Agree 💯 and it's definitely something everyone needs to make others aware of.
A slightly better chance exists that the US government commits to sound money principles
@@DIYMETALS You didn't put the app name on the description..
@@Anthony-kn8cn Do SD Bullion or Apmex ever get fakes and then give them out unknowingly or ate they dependable?
Very cool and informative!!
Enjoyed the video, very informative, thanks for the information...
Thanks for sharing, just started acquiring. But I only deal with dealers with a good reputation. But I will try this test.
Good video. Helpful!
Thanks for sharing this. Good information being I'm a new stacker. This is information I'll be using on my stacking journey. Thanks again for sharing it.
Welcome to the stacking club!
Very informative, thank you!
Thanks!!
Thank you for your knowledge!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you
"Good Shepherd " !!!
Herd of Buffaloes. Never heard that before. Thanks. I LOVE my Pocket Pinger. Good video. We need more of these and less of the Junior Miner stock hustlers.
Good to know thanks
Great video
Very useful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks, great video
Glad you liked it!
Thanks 🔎
Not to mention the tint of silver, which is dark gray, at least when it has been allowed to corrode on it's surface, looking at old silverware which has been left in the open, you can often see it's, or it has features almost black in color. "Sometimes these are plated silver" is very correct - why you might not want to trust your eyes only.
Very cool vid! May I suggest you do a vid on testing gold and silver jewelry with nitric acid? There's some out there but I think you could do a better job...plus they tend to go viral....have a great day!
Thanks! That’s the plan, stay tuned.
@@DIYMETALS awesome
@@danieldambrosio50 Just put up the acid test video: czcams.com/video/ONKeYlzmLZY/video.html
You should have shown the coin after you shot it so we could see inside and check out which metal they used.
I was planning on.... couldn't find the thing. Wound up finding it a week or so later gardening... lol
@@DIYMETALS So are you going to show it or?
@@PlayerisBoring Yup, I'll have it up as a short soon.
Thanks
Does it work with gold?
just a heads up, my pinger app (iPhone) is saying I need a subscription for the full array of coins. kinda sucky but I already bought the pinger. ive got a sigma so no big deal, I just despise subscriptions. Also unless I missed it, the neodymium magnet test is a good one.
You can polish up aluminum to look like silver
You can, but it’s won’t weigh nearly the same, and won’t ping the same.
Liked and subscribed 😎
Thank you and welcome!
To a typical person on a stand alone piece it is impossible to determine whether the coin is of real silver or not. However, if given a multiple choice to compare pieces, then there is chance that a choice can be made to decide whether a piece is fake or real.
What about bars, 1oz to 1 kilo?
Interesting but my ears with the pocket pinger is good..
What did you use to deform that fake round at the end? BB?
.22 pcp air rifle
Need some help with my Fake Girlfriend got any ideas .
Ya get rid of her and replace with real.!!!
ping her
Should always start with a magnet. Takes a second and you don't even need to take it out of plastic.
I wish you had cut the duff coin in half with a hacksaw so we could see that shady layering inside.
It’s gunna happen soon, stay tuned.
I can not find the app? Can anyone help please? Thank you so much 😊
Sorry, thought I had it linked:
App: CoinTester

Would a rare earth magnet help sort out fake silver
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Respect to the killer of the fake round
First thing I do is test with magnet
you don't need a pinger you can just balance a coin on your finger and tap it with another coin
It's numismatic, not numeristic
What's the app??

I could tell instantly which one was fake. Look at the mouth and nose area. Easy Peasy.
None of the rounds have a standard stamp, each companies will look different and there are dozens of companies that make them.
Was the fake marked 999 or 9999 ?
999
666
It's supposed to weigh 1.1 0z
Correct, my scale is set to Troy oz
wheres the magnet test?
Plenty of fakes are made with non-magnetic material. While magnet will prove something is fake if it sticks, it doesn’t prove it’s real I’d it doesn’t.
@@DIYMETALS yes but its a first step elimination than weight ..or if you can afford theres the metal machine.
@@DIYMETALS also the slide that gives you an idea if theres something in the middle of your silver.
@@tracy2762 Sigma are unfortionalty out of most hobbiests price range, but it would be nice.
Magnet works
Yes, but not all the time.
I could easily spot the FAKE ROLEX in the first 5 seconds.
The fake looks fake....lol
Nice using gloves. But now u touches ur phone with them and after that ur rounds. So now ur rounds hace poop bacteria on them🤣
God is for everyone on the planet. It doesn’t matter if you’re religious or atheist or just don’t give a crap about any of it either way. Whether you like it or not, the moment you die, you WILL instantly be in this place that you have been a part of for eons. Doesn’t matter your religion, your beliefs or anything. Everyone from every part of this planet comes from the SAME place. This is a FACT and you will be there like it or not. No matter what kind of person you are, good or evil or somewhere in between. You can’t escape it, you ARE a being of light in this meat suit, we call a human body. Some things are true, whether we like it or not. When you cross over after death, all the knowledge of the universe will come flooding back into you, reminding you who you really are. I know this sounds like a complete fairy tale that someone made up to trick and play games with you, but it really isn’t, I promise you, for what it’s worth. It’s 100% Fact, not fictitious. YOU WILL SEE MY FRIEND. 🌸🙏 GOD BLESS TO ALL
I can't find the CoinTester app on Google Play. Ty for the great video, though!
