I’m a detailer and when i do engine bays i use an (APC) All purpose cleaner such as Super Clean or Purple Power. You can dilute it in a spray bottle or use it straight. Agitate with a detail brush or any kind of brush you can use to get all the hard to reach areas. Dry it off by hand or use a leaf blower and to finish off add some sort of dressing (tire shine) I like to use a water based dressing such as chemical guys VRP or Aqua Gloss. Remember to wait until the engine is fully cooled down.
