Though unconfirmed, it has been widely accepted the U.S. Marine Corps’ nickname, the “Devil Dogs”, originated from the Germans at the Battle of Belleau Wood in June 1918 for the Marine’s relentless tenacity as vigorous shock troops and remarkable marksmen. The Marines assaulted the advancing German lines at Hill 142 five times and five times they were repelled however on the sixth assault the Marines broke through and eradicated the German presence from the forest.

I PROUDLY served 10 years in our Marine Corps, Honorably Discharged back in 2003. This anthem by Sabaton gets my old ass so fired up and gung-ho that I'm ready to go back to "Swift, Silent, and Deadly" Mode on America's enemies again. DAMN, WHAT A SONG!!

Music video is also pretty good for Devil Dogs, really shows how diverse Sabaton's fanbase is.

You'd might also like Smoking Snakes if you wanna hear about Brazil's almost forgotten contributions to ww2. I certainly didn't know they were in ww2 in till I checked out the backstory to it.

Me and my old buddies from my days in the Corps love this song except for one thing. Never call a Marine a soldier. We're Marines. We worked damn hard to get that title.

Nah you are not old....atleast not to me. I've spent almost 20 years in the military in sweden...in swedish called fallskärmsjägare...an american version of that is like paratroopers + marines.
