      I have a friend from Saudi Arabia that showed me a black paste made of dry limes and you mixed it with water and sugar and you get a wonderful lemonade, best ever! Can I make it with your powder recipe?

    I only just learned of Black Lime yesterday as it was an ingredient in my new favorite beer. I will be making my own black limes as soon as good limes are available locally.     Thank you, I live in Malaysia and love to cook Arabic cuisine, before this I had to buy black lime in some middle eastern grocery shops and it's pretty expensive since it was imported......

    Thank you so much! For years I’ve eaten (and made!) khoresht-e qormeh sabzi. But I had no idea I could make my own limoo omaani!! ❤️

      I also usually simmer limoo omaani in the khoresht, then remove when soft, and purée with a little water in blender before returning to the khoresht.

    The dried lime tea is very helpful to people with diarrhea but don't add any sugar. Works every time

    To make tea Do we add boiling water to 1tsp black lime powder? Or first put in water until boils then simmer for 15mts means for black tea we have to make decoction? Or just infuse by pouring boiling water on 1tsp dry powder in a cup

      You can put in the water and boil for about 15 mins or infuse

    I have a question regarding putting the lemon in boiled then in iced water, what is the benefit from these two steps?

      The reason why I put in boiled water is to blanch them to make them soft and remove bitterness and we put in ice cold water to stop from making them too soft its basically controlling the temperature

    5 continuous days of strong sunlight . It has not even turned brown . Mostly mustard, with brownish tint .
    How long does it actually take to turn black ?? I am from India, so be assured about sun & temperature nowdays is 34°Centigrade .

      Yes you can! they do not need refrigeration. They can last very long more than 6 months

      @@aromaofzanzibar I tried your recipe. It is always sunny in my country (Malaysia 🇲🇾) so I decided to make black lime. I put them out in the sun. It took about 9 days to get the results.
      Now I have a dozen of black lime. I'm so happy... I'm so happy... I'm so happy...

      We normally use it for stews and rices as well, you can use if for salad dressing and black tea too

    Thanks for the video under a wonderful banner.
    I was hunting for a long time to know the trick behind processing of black lemon.
    I tried following your instructions in the video, but sadly, the lemons I have used has shrinked but the color is still yellow. Any guess what went wrong?

      Thank you for watching, if the colour is still yellow that means they need more sun sometimes it may take longer may be the lemons were too juicy so the liquid has to dehydrate.

      I just store them in a plastic bag or container they last for a long time. There are specific middle eastern and Persian recipes that use these lemon but you can always experiment

    Hello sister. I wanted to use dried lemon(black lemon) in one recipe. But m not able to find it in any store and also I don’t have that much time so that I can prepare some at home. As I’ve to use it for the next day I.e within the next 24 hours.. So can you please tell me a regular lime can’t be used instead of the dried one? Or not?

      Hello dear, there's a difference in flavor and aromas with fresh and dried lemon , am not sure what kind of recipe you are using and what are you looking for but if its a stew or curry you can substitute but if its rice dish then you cannot, hope this helps

    hmm.. i'd like to know what percentage brine to boil in.. the 1.5 tbs per liter seems awful low

      The salt is here is really optional not a concentrated brine as such so you can use as much or as little as you want. I used 1 and 1/2 Tbl which is sufficient for what I needed it for.

      Almostt boiling and blanch just for about 90 seconds not to cook them

      Try little and see how you like it, when you put the whole lime you get more aromas and little flavor not bitter
