Typo: Performance Mode text on top right corner should say 60 FPS
Would the oddesy g5 be a good monitor for the game?
The PC version has FSR3 frame gen so I was hoping the console versions would use that too. Surely they could have add a 'Quality frame generation' mode for those who don't really feel much input lag, especially since it would be using a controller.
Yeah man I wish a studio would try this
@@beammeupscottsp7952 Sony most likely isn't allowing this on console I think. They want people to buy new TVs for VRR support etc lol. I could be wrong though
No performance graphs. What kind of technical review is this?
Arent u able to read the letters on the screen? It literally says performance and then quality
@@SamuelAlves-ci9lxfps graphs
@@SamuelAlves-ci9lxThat is just describing the mode. It is not a live graph of the actual output like we usually see on this channel, and it’s very strange that he omitted it.
😅
@@C0ZYL4ZYbc you need graphs to understand?
This game looks absolutely amazing incredible but damn I am getting some serious FPS drops. Hopefully they patch this.
It’s pathetic that neither mode in games now offer a stable fps.
I’m getting frame drops , shimmering and screen tear on ps5… really sucks to have these issues.
@@MySweetDewDropit’s a weird case because when I do get fps drops I just walk away from that area and goes back to it and then it’s gone. Memory issue?
@@Lewis-4Because people already complain when ps5 costs €550. It’s not even the price of a decent pc gpu.
On a 4080 and i9-12900k. This game utilizes RT effects to great effect. Close to Alan Wake 2 levels of fidelity and attention to detail. It’s actually sad how big of a downgrade the next gen console versions look compared to its pc counterpart. And this is coming from someone who typically prefers playin on console.
Question is: Does it have VRR support or a 40Hz mode???
No by the looks of it I play on a 1440p 144hz monitor most of the time and I can't see an option
@@liamkelley123 You need HDMI 2.1 at least for the PS5's -VRR feature to work iirc- (just remembered my other HDMI2.0 monitor does have VRR and it works with PS5 so sorry for false info, but only in 1080p though), 120Hz could work without it but not at 4k/120, only 1080p or maybe also 1440p/120 will work without HDMI 2.1 (not sure about the latter, I don't have a native 1440p capable screen)
I have sony x90k with hdmi 2.1. When i go from quality to performance it doesnt change. Or it doesnt say it does in the video settings. Whats up with this? Anyone help?
Does it have raytraced global illumination on PS5/Series X in quality mode?
Yes it does but in both modes reasons why it runs at 900p in performance mode but with quality its at higher ray tracing settings
Why do we still have a crappy 30 fps mode in 2023… It feel so dizzy and crappy
I played Starfield for the past 4 weeks, so in this game im gonna go with the Quality mode, cause my eyes are stuck at 30FPS for now😂
Me too,bro 😂I've been playing Starfield for several weeks, and when I first played Avatar, I didn't have any discomfort and even felt smooth, even though I was using the quality mode
My guyyyys 😂 my eyes do this sh*t too. After Starfield I even went out of my way to play older games that didn't get a FPS update, such as Watch Dogs and the Batman Arkham games.
I also played Spider-Man 2 on Quality mode since my eyes were back to being accustomed to 30. The experience feels smooth, I don't notice a thing. It's honestly awesome to be able to do that cause some people just can't stand 30 at all 😅 and there's still so many older games at 30fps I still want to replay.
why is this video only 1080p?
So pc just looks better than 30fps mode here but can easy run 60 to 144 fps with most modern 3000 plus cards i assume?
I have a 3060ti and have to change settings all over the place with dlss on ultra performance to get stable frames. So nah haha.
I’m actually thinking about getting the ps5 version due to is being ready out of the box
For me the performance mode looks very blurry in this video, idk if I could enjoy that.
What are the resolution targets in both modes? Any idea?
My guess is dynamic 1440p in Quality Mode (upscaled to 4k), dynamic 1080p in Performance Mode (upscaled to 1440p). FSR makes the game look crisp enough but almost oversharpened with plenty of the usual shimmering. Still looks good ,tho
@@SOTVT is the performance mode look good on 4k screen?
@@mashayathshaik6913it looks pretty bad to be honest. Graphics mode looks way better but feels extremely choppy.
@@petergriffin5256 yeah that’s the concern I had I don’t know why this gen consoles are just not good enough to give atleast native 1440p in many demanding games
@@mashayathshaik6913 most developers are just not good enough. Horizon forbidden west looks incredible at 60fps
Are the textures, draw distance and shadows is the same in quality and performance mode?
no dude 😂😂 that's the literal difference between performance and quality mode in any game lmaoo
@@tglanzer07 No necessarily...sometimes it's just a drop in resolution
new way of coping with a 3000 dollar graphics card !!!!...sike!@@tglanzer07
@@tglanzer07 In this video you can't see much of a difference, apart from the lower resolution, obviously.

Xbox Series s - Can play the game.
Xbox Series X / PS5 - Can enjoy the game.
Ok serie S is beautiful
Completely wrong. Series s is as beautiful as Xbox series x and ps5, and ik bc I’ve been playing it on series s.
You saying the old generation of console? Or the base model of new Gen xbox?
Anyone know if there’s input lag on fidelity mode?
There s a little bit
@@claudiegarnier4560 forsure! Thanks for letting me know!
@@Henny_Daddy ure welcome. I play in performance mode on console. I dont see too much of difference between the 2 modes. But i do notice the better framerate
Looks better than the first movie lmao. Path tracing is the final touch.
Does it have fov in ps5?
yes
Am i the only person whos noticed turning is super choppy even with stable fps? It just dosent feel as clean as true 60fps or above.
It's super jarring
With out a doubt its one of the best looking games to date. At 4096x2160 with hdr at 80-120fps smh Im am blown away with what massive has done here.
Why not 3840x2160?
@@edimarrodrigrove3377 I play on a 48"lg oled and the extra pixels really help at that size. Especially if I ever have to use up scaling it helps that little bit extra
You wrote 30 fps in the performance mode (in the top right corner).
Yes, it’s typo should be 60
performance mode is more like 45-60 i wish it was more stable :/
That's Ubish*t for ya. Don't EVER buy their games. They are trash or they acquire an IP and turn it to trash. It's one or the other 100%
my pc runs this game like shit im crying
Imagine this on the DECIMA engine
3rd person designed engine compared to first person. No.
It's beautiful but I don't like FPS games I want TPS
I knew i should have bought this on the ps5 instead!.. fuck!
Instead of what? The game looks identical on SX/PS5.

Where are the framerate and frame pacing graphs?? Don’t cheap out on us. Both modes are unstable on PS5; why are you afraid to show that??
Unplayable on quality mode have to play on performance mode unlike spiderman 2
wtf there’s no performance graphs . this is not a technical showcase video as you would expect it to be
Where's the 120fps
The Ps5 version in the performance mode looks so utterly bad its hilarious . Everything that is more than 10 meters away just becomes Ps2 graphics or so blurry to the point u feel like you need some glasses
This is really good on PC
Eat crab man
You should see this game on unobtainium settings using a high-end pc. It's nuts. No way a console will as good
Even 4090 can't run it above 60 at 4k dlss at that setting bruh
Tbh imo spending the kind of money to get a high end pc when consoles for one get a lot off exclusives or at minimum have to wait years to get to play it is crazy. $5000 to $8000 on a pc is just tarded. I'd rather get a $550 console. But I'm definitely getting the pro when it drops. It'll be around $800.
@@SimChaserRoseRacer my PC was only 1559.99 usd and it came with an RTX 4070.
@@ariyansuthar7907 I'm using frame generation with Frs. Also I'm only running it at 1440p.
Better graphics than forbidden west?
forbidden west looks kinda better ...
@@pogoprithish3235they both look good.
Forbidden best looks way better
True I finally play this on pc and can say forbidden west looks better
Nah no way this kind of seems more dense at time but forbidden west is just next level + with a locked 60fps at 1800p while this on performance seems to under 1080p or below upscaled
Forbidden West looks and runs better tbh.
0:04 "you need a more powerful Console like PS5" why you didn't mention the Series X? Series X is a more powerful console than PS5. Literally 12 tflops vs 10 😂🤦♂️
I'm not even mention PC because not everyone has a high end PC gaming.
...No joke I thought the same. Pretty good looking on PS5 (though video compression kinda fugs it up a lot.) Ah well I'll see it in person on Christmas.

@@nishwagdong that the newer game would look better... but it doesn't. did you read his comment?
@@Dreadpirateflappybut this game look better visually than horizon
you are new to gaming arent you? no way in hell a last gen game like forbidden west looks better, it has way lower polygon count.
@@MetalDeathHead Forbidden West may be cross-gen, but the PS5 version has some models with significantly higher poly counts. If you haven't already I suggest checking
out Digital Foundry's tech review. Iirc I think they did a few videos on it and one of them goes more into the differences between PS4 and PS5. There are some scenes where
the PS4 uses FMV transitions into the game while the PS5 renders everything natively. PS4's LOD's are much lower in poly count while rendering at a fraction of the distance
they do on PS5. Tbh, HZFW on PS4 has quite a bit of reverse engineering to achieve it's level of visual parity. The Burning Shores dlc also proved to be too much for the PS4.
Why do you call this a technical review? 😅 do you even understand what that means? Because this isnt buddy
Why 1st person mode?...its 💩💩💩💩
pc master race. running it at 4k ultra 144+ fps.
🤡🤡🤡
Running it at 4K ultra 240+ fps. Funny thing is, the difference beyond 60fps is miniscule and barely detectable. Buying a cheap PC (even the most expensive ones are still cheap) doesn't make one a master race or better than anyone else.
@@vgnvideogameninja2930There is a massive difference between 60fps and 120fps. I'm a sim racer and have a $4000 sim rig. And the biggest and best upgrade I did on my rig that shaved seconds off my time was getting a hdmi 2.1 capable tv with vrr. I literally can't go back. I've tried. Sometimes it changes back to 60 on its own when I first turn it on and immediately I can tell the difference. Imo anything above 120fps it's hard to tell the difference but the leap from 60fps to 120fps is massive and is far superior.
Red dead redemption 2 still the best graphics abd it came out 6 years ago
