It's been decided... spraying Rocker Guard on the floor đ

- It's been decided... Bad Chad is going to spray Rocker Guard on the bottom of the floor then apply automotive seam sealer in all the seams. We decided to go this route because of cost, aesthetics, and practicality. This method will cost around $100 when it's all said and done đ

My dad always said if someone wants to take there time to teach you something or show you a different way of doing something for free and you donât listen then your going to be left behind and I used that all my life and Iâm so happy I did because I saved so much money over the years by doing things for myself
Very true
Always remember nobody is ever going to do it to your satisfaction even though you are paying someone to do it. Some people will but its going to be very expensive depending on the person you are hiring. When someone gives you a out rages price is telling you they really don't want to tackle the job. Or it looks very difficult and will take them to much time.
Thatâs absolutely right Richard. They donât go to the trouble to try and teach us just to hear their lips flapping! Itâs hard to teach somebody something especially when you already know what youâre doing and youâre explaining it to someone who is a novice at this trade. Iâm going through the same scenario myself with trying to teach the young kids how to work on small engines and stuff. The ones I have mentored was years ago and they turned out OK but the ones nowadays canât wait for me to shut up so they can go back to their effing phones
Maybe some etching primer first. Not trying to knock you.
â@@johnwade5747I found them to know everything, show them all the bolt's "ye ye ) ok I'll be back, you come back and their nowhere to be seen đ in the car playing game boy đ was the bolt to hard, ye what spanner did you use, ye couldn't find one đ never had another work experience in again đą all the best to you all
Chad, learned so much from your proceedings on modified cars and floor repairs ! Thank you !
Happy Tuesday Bad Chad Nation.
Is there a specific reason you rock guard before seam seal? It would seem logical to me to seam seam first. But Iâve never done it so I am curious.
Bad Chad Jolene another great job on that floor Chad seam seal in rock guard got all the product on there on the bottom side great camera work Jolene you don't miss a trick on it you got it down pure professional love that camera work we get to see everything and Learn by if you have a project double does a good job to hard worker and I don't want to leave Fina out she's a master at work thank you until next time will be watching
Hello ..Watching from just across the bridge on PEI....I really enjoy the vids...I really cant say its because chad does it any better then others...But one thing he does that sets him apart is he is always telling others that if you set your mind to it you can do it as well...Telling people to have faith and to just do it and if you mess up so what just take your time and you can fix it....And that is what puts him on another level....All at the shop are class acts 100% and its because of that i will always watch...
Thank you for showing this and not just cutting to it done. I appreciate your channel.
Team Hiltz it looks like it is warm there today, it is hot & muggy here in the south part of Wisconsin today! The floor is looking really good Chad and I certainly would be happy to put a floor like that in my car if I needed it! Doug is really working hard on the paint stripping on the Volvo. I am really suprised at the amount that you have gotten done already Doug. You are definitely a hard worker Doug! Jolene you did a fantastic job as you always do with great camera work and great production work as well! Say hi to Fina for me!
All my projects, metal or wood all i see at the end are the imperfections that nobody else notices and always wish i spent 5 more minutes on that issue
Just a tip :) love that rocker guard . Nobody shakes it enough. Take your saws all, and tape the can to a long blade to make shaking the can easily & whats recommended on the directions . light coats, let em dry. coat after coat the same way over & over.
That look great, considering the only time you will see that side of the floor is upside donenin a bush, or the man working on it apart from that...nobody is going to see it...
Great job, chadie boy đ
hi Chad Jolene Fina , great job that floor looks amazingđđđ
I do HVAC & sheet metal fabrication/ ductwork for a living, and anyone who does it for a living will see the imperfections, I always say the devil is in the details, so i treat every job like I'm doing it for myself, taking pride in your work goes a very very long way, and paying attention to the details is what makes the difference between a good job and a great job!!! Keep up the great work Chad!! I watch every night
Hey Chad , Jolene and Doug, The 3 layers of Rock Guard along with NAPA seam sealer was expertly applied and it looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing the floor being attached to the body with the sills included.
Hi guys, floor is looking really good. Tools for applying caulking and seam sealer are available, but finger always works best! Chad mentioned that the new overhead door in the shop is great. But what's with the overhead door on the new building? (see video time 16:50) Bubbled around the windows, also on the panels. That door is not that old!
Good evening Jolene and chad and thank you for sharing your experience and information for free everyday
Love the step by step instruction in how you do things and why. Everyday is interesting
Saving old cars is good no matter whether it's a hot rod, a custom or a restoration. Any old car is better than most of the new plastic and Coca Cola can cars any day.
Take care Gene.
That. Guard. Makes. Nice. Job. Protection. For the metal. Helps. Any. Rattles. â€â€â€â€â€
That floor really looks nice. đđ
Maybe a little soap and water on your fingers should help...
Sometimes I look at DD, he's a cool guy and a hard worker
I think this podcast is realistic and when something goes wrong he doesnât just try to hide it . Take what you want out of it, or do it your own way and it as easy as that.
You still need to put the outside sill on it first
Canât wait to see the body go in channeled. Cool you gave a shout out to DD Speed Shop, Dan mentions you often and Dani we know admires Joleneâ camera work. Would be great to see a collaboration between you and them.
See you guys tomorrow. Keep it rockinâ
Rocker Gaurd it is đ Go for it Chad đđ đ
I like those snap on Trigger handles like what you can get an auto parts makes it easier and keeps your thumb from getting sore, I let off at the end of each stroke like a person does when are using a paint gun so I donât have a stack up at the end of each stroke. Chad doesnât do that When heâs using cans but it doesnât seem to matter. Itâs still flattens out good for him.He does that off the Trigger when he paints with a real paint gun and he overlaps the right amount every time and they turns out looking beautiful. That kind of can paint that you Can removeâŠ, I canât think of what itâs called, as smooth as I could put it on it still looked like crap until it dried and then it was flawless! I was beginning to think I was losing my touch because Iâm really quite proud of being able to paint with a cam very good. Even when I was a kid I was painting everybody in the neighborhood bicycles after word got around.
Encore une belle étape, j'ai regardé cette vidéo dÚs 6 heures du matin ce mercredi " heure de Paris" et c'est toujours un régal...d'apprendre.Merci Monsieur.
Hi Chad Jolene the Rockguard and seamseeler looks A1 .
GOOD JOB!
floor looks great
if they nnever watched they would say you brought that floor ready to go great job thanks as always have a great one .thx qj
I think bad Chad should make a paper towel holder out of scraps with a tear off blade
Iâve seen them made with a hacksaw blade for the tear off strip
Looks awesome
You should use a swaet band with the little beads soaked in ice cold water. It work really well.
Makes sense chad
Looking good!
Hope Jolene gets to race this car in Maine next summer
Maybe this summer, if the race doesn't conflict with Chad and Jolene's visit to Austrailia
@@user-di7in2zx1c I believe this yearâs race was on Memorial Day weekend
Awesome job Chad!
Looks great!
Helpful tip on the caulking gun situation......when you cut it short, but need a smaller opening, use a household electrical wire nut. Screw it onto your caulking tip, and cut or drill the end of the wire nut to the size you need.
Thatâs an interesting tip! Just grind away at it till it opens up the amount that you need. Cool!
What a beautiful view there, nice property
That floor looks fantastic chad.
Could have had some music on today Jolene! "Rock Guard Rock"! đ

great job
This was better done this way as apposed to waiting until its all assembled. It was smart to do this outside as well.
That floor looks really good after you rock guard it and seam sealed it. Im sure thats what you'll do on the top part as well. Jolenes camera work is awesome. And she does awesome with any editing that she does. The car is gonna be so cool when you get it back together and driving. See ya tomorrow!!
KISS...KISS...
ââ@@roadwarrior4813.....has a bit of a reputation for this...
Looks great, keep up the good work
yeah it's looking good with the rock gaurd on the floor keep up the good work guys and Jolene is so good on the camera
Yes, your Blessed having a gal like Jolene helping ya.
Jolene and Chad make a great team and life partners
Try Wurth ruberized undercoating. Great stuff.
Iâve been using that stuff 30 years itâs a really great material could have done the floor in 10 minutes tops !
Nice work. I like the framework.
Awesome job Chad!!
The floor is coming together great can't wait to see it all on the body and chassis
Great Channel!

Keep the good content comming!!
FlorianĂłpolis Santa Catarina Brasil â€
Nice đ
Back in the nineties I knew people that would put flec paint on the air vents and other cosmetic pieces. I guess these days it is way harder. In fact I know it is .. I like the stuff
Rock guard. Or what have you. Nice job.. Looks great.
Ok 3mins of that was mpre than enough great job guys
Really enjoyed what you did today
Keep on Rockinâ Guard!
Loving your channel guys, all the way from Tasmania!
Looking good
If you like the garage door like that -you should buy a garage door opener for it and then -boom just push the button and keep going. easy to install.
Thanks for sharing with us today..
Chad, it looks really nice
Breaks my heart that some are being bad to Gene Winfield. GOD Protect him and the people taking care of him.
Thank you Chad for bring it to our attention.
It's good to see Dougles occasionally make appearances!!
Great idea Chad!
đ
Rock guard looks great, like you say better than a lot of other cars
Be sure to spray upside down in floor tunnel. that is where moisture and crud collect. (where floor and tunnel meet).
Wednesday morning down under.. .i like what youâve done so far on the floor
Tuesday
I really enjoy watching you guys, I never miss a show
đ
Jolene does do a great job on the camera, very smooth!
Does Rocker Guard have any sound proofing properties or is the layer too thin? How would Line-X compare? Can you DIY Line-X or does it have to be applied by a dealer?
In UK they have Hammerite paint that can be brush painted, sprayed or comes in aerosol cans. It is available in hammered or smooth. It's so good for wheels and chassis, being very hard. It dries in 15 minutes and covers and blemishes etc. Great product, but not available in North America đ„
Seems like a quart and spray gun would be quicker and cheaper. Chads mantra
Would be hard for it not to stick to bare metal, if itâs only driven 10 miles per year lol. You do you Chad!! Looks awesome
I love Joleneâs camera work!
Looks great, I like the rocker guard and seam sealer!
Stone Guard in the UK was a go to paint for graffiti outlines as it is near impossible to remove, still got a full can in my old can collection.........As for getting a tattoo if anyone asked me if it was going to hurt i told them if it did that was extra on the cost.
Once again I'm going to make a comment on your work which is awesome, however I'm going to ask this question one more time, when do you plan on finishing the Bugatti and the Bugatti hauler? I am 68 years old and I would really like to see it finished before I croak LOL
Haha, hang in there, I'm 79
Jimmy Hoffa will be found before those get done......LOL
đđđđđ
â@@georgegunner662.. maybe if they open the door of the abandoned Bugatti Jimmy's stiff will be found still gripping the steering wheel.
â@@johnwhltson5319.....đđđđđ
Key word for the day cheap
Next time that happens to your rock guard or any tube calk or glue just take some either duct tape or aluminum tape and place it on the tube in a cone shape as small as you need!Great job on everything thanks for the metal learning I'm a mechanical fabricator but been doing a litte metal work lately after following your shows.
I like the previous tip about putting a wiring net with a hole drilled in the end of it on the end of the tube if you accidentally cut it off too big it saves the product from going to waste or spreading out too wide and can be removed and screwed on the next two if need be. Just remember to blow it up backward or twist up a rag in it until it pushes all the product out because once it hardens up , youâre screwed!
Hey everyone
Thanks Chad great job đ
The Volvo is coming good. Good job Doug! Instead of chopping the Volvo it would be interesting to see a low rider with air suspension instead. Love your show Chad and Jolene!
Itâs against the car modifiers credo to build a car that you can sit up straight in to drive! You must drive like a hunchback or itâs not a modified car!
Another killer video! đđŒ
A great tip that I use to remove the dried plug from caulking tubes is put a 1/4" drill bit in the electric drill and just drill the plug out without damaging the caulking tube
Hold it up on edge, Doug, so that drive shaft dip can be rock guarded.
I was gonna ask about the 34 chev itâs been sitting there awhile, looks cool.
Those are two fantastic products. Makes a real professional job. Chad you are a protectionist to the nth degree.
This floor is a masterpiece.
Canât wait to see body installed đ€
